All depends on whether or not he passes the medical. If things go quiet and there's silence from the club, he'll have failed the medical. If he passes it should be announced pretty soon

For those interested pick your position and other details, then take your pick. http://www.transfermarkt.com/statistik/endendevertraege

There are thousands of center backs out of contract and available. If we are serious in retaining of Premier League status and finishing in a decent position, Reed just has to get his finger out and work out a good deal and get someone. I fear many of the older players will be wanting a longer contract Let us not forget Kevin Davies was a free agent when Sam Allardyce signed him. Got 10 good years service from him. If the Black Box really is functioning surely we have a pick of names to go for

Sam Gallagher strikes again to give Blackburn all three points Who are those who say Puel knew what he was doing in France? Absolute Rubbish. He struggled most of the time just as he's doing in England. Even Steven Caulker was available and would have been better than nobody. Unless we can sigh a decent freebee we are going to sink like a stone. Just how could we be in such a situation with us knowing for months we needed central defenders. The fault lies fairly and squarely with Reed, followed closely behind by Puel.

Austin went to see a specialist in the States for advice but was operated in this country.
-
When have we ever read about our seriously injured players being sent overseas to see specialists who work miracles in rapid recovery. Even in this we penny pince and won't pay out money to get our players back playing.
-
And he can take LES Reed with him. Our season is panning out to one almighty C ock up.
-
SUN reporting West Ham are in for Harry Maguire for 9 million. Surely we can top that for a potentially long term center back to shore up our defence..
-
For a long time I believed in Lloyd, but his abilities have been stunted since he returned from Barnsley. Time for him to move on. He will never achieve more than playing for Saints Reserves.. Like others I fail to see why he's still here. There must be some unseen reason.

Ending up today having to send out such a selection proved Claude Puel and Les Reed have well and truly been caught with their pants down. Liverpool are there for the taking by just about any team at the moment. It is a crying shame shame that Reed and Puel have been farting about since the window and failed to bring in anyone. Today saw the rose colored spectacles well and truly removed and stark reality facing us. Sad, very sad indeed.

Unlike transfer rumors this thread has no insiders with any decent tidbits for discussion. Rarely has a more boring and lacking in real information thread been posted. I'm certain the rumor was put out to influence players into staying at the club and possible signings on the hook. Once the transfer window closes the whole investment /purchase story will vanish much to the disappointment of any hoping for commercial advancement.

Thoroughly agree with you. What was lucky in 1976 may not be lucky in 2017. Yellow hasn't got us the the final this time around. Luck runs in periods of time just as does bad luck.
-
Let's not forget which cluv sold us Shane Long. Can believe both Long and the club have good links at Hull Seeing we need a striker and central defender perhaps a double deal for Snodglass and Maguire is being lined up. Would be better than bringing in over inflated and risky Italians.
-
Talksport's just mentioned Hull City's Harry Maguire wants a move to Saints. Can't find anything in the media except he'd be a good replacement for Jose Fonte. Hoping TS will give more on this during the morning.

Rupert. Lowe and Jan Porthiet reincarnation in the fantasy of Puel and Reed. F*cking disgrace and insult to the dreams of Markus and Cortese
-
Should have started with Rodriguez instead of Long. I'd have left out Redmond and Tapis and replaced them with Martina and McQueen. Cedric working with Martina and Bertrand working with McQueen would have given us a far better pentatonic into the box and supplying Rodriguez. I'm sorry PUEL hasn't a clue how to pick a team that can score goals. It's pathetic that he persists with the same players and substitutions whilst we fall lower and lower down the table.
-
Sadly no one on the bench to turn things round if Puel's opening game line up fails to work out. en

Completely agree with you. I have long thought Dave Watson wasn't getting any progress from our goalkeepers. Even Artur Boruc has progressed since he went to Bournemouth yet our lot get worse by the month. Really time for the club to sort out our goalkeeper training and to bring in keepers who live up to playing in the Premier League
-
Mourinho had planned to play Luke Shaw leading the line today. However the medical team pulled Shaw as not fit enough. Why oh why doesn't Puel play the likes of Sam McQueen up front. McQueen has more chance of scoring goals than any of out current strikers. Have to hope Ryan Seagar steps up a solves the goal drought.

It has been revealed that this season has seen the highest number of goals scored since the Premier League was founded. Bloody marvelous that Saints have scored the least number of goals this season, when for years we have been known for being the highest scorers each season. Considering the above statement, just how can people say things are fine, that there's nothing to worry about. I believed in Puel, but not anymore. He's leading us to oblivion, ruining all the hard earned success built up since Markus Liebherr saved our club from going out of existence. Just how can Katarina stand by and see her father's dream sink into the disaster Puel is bringing upon our beloved club?
-
Why the hell didn't Puel bring on Bertrand? With McQueen and Bertrand we could of got balls up to Rodriguez. At worse the defence would have ekept Everton out a d we might have managed a 0-0 draw. Lost all belief in Puel and so have our players.
-
Not ideal but maybe that's why Nigels been hanging around St Mary's of late
-
Puel has lost the players. They are just not responding to his game plan and style of playing. I swore that I wouldn't watch today but I did. I can't stand the constant moving the ball to the halfway line then about turn and playing backwards instead of moving forward. My blood boiled when Mc Queen made a beautiful ball up field only for 4 players to about turn and send it back to him. What is this all about.? It was predictable Puel would wait and wait till it was too late then make all the wrong substitutions. . Really abysmal afternoon
-
With Auatin injured and Long firing blanks just dont understand why we're not plying McQueen up front. He's one plyer with a nose for the goal.
-
We were still in it with a remote chance till the substitutions. From then on we fell apart, with not one of the substitutes doing a thing. Forster has become a liability and would be more useful as a statue outside the ground. I honestly ask myself what does Dave Watson do on the training ground. Our keepers have become worse and make no improvements whatsoever.
