  1. Probably just speculative odds. Reading are as good as down so he probably wont stay there, (either because he doesn't want to drop back to the champ or because Reading need the money,) we apparently have money to spend, and Southampton isn't too far away so he wouldn't have to relocate. Hey presto - we're favourites to sign him.
  2. Its what she would have expected. Day off, and expect to get paid? Dont make me laugh.
  3. Major actually carried on the main (and possibly only) beneficial achievement of her time in office, which was keeping the european federal superstate from our shores. Not that he had much choice in the matter, but credit where its due.
  4. Not impressed with Attlee (and Bevan) introducing the Health Service, then?
  5. POTD
  6. Breaking news; Ed Miliband actually says something.
  7. Count yourself lucky. Her reign was the most hate-filled and unpleasant I can remember, and I've lived through Blair.
  8. So, the media are suddenly applauding us? Thats it. We're down.
  9. The police force were the negligent ones. Somebody should have told her that the 9 inch battery-driven thing they gave her is actually a torch.
  10. Paulo Di Canio insists he is not a fascist. At least, I think that was the gist of the five-hour speech he gave from his hotel balcony.
  11. Amusing reaction from a stokie on 5 Live, talking to Alan Green. Said, basically, "they are as good as down, Pulis is awful, and have you seen our run-in?" Then went on to detail their last games and reckons they might pick up a win at home to Norwich but cant see points from any other game, and finished by saying "....and our last game is away at Southampton. They're brilliant, have you seen them play lately, we wont get anything there" hahahaaaa
  12. When will I learn to keep my cakehole shut.
  13. I'd like to see Chelski thump the fascistii, and Wigan put saggychops down. Other than that, meh.
  14. Eventually it does, but they still would be entitled to a departmental pension and redundancy money, so the benefit would be several years away. We apparently need it now.
  15. Not necessarily. What we would need is someone to approach the planning board on our behalf, clandestinely. A wheeler-dealer with experience of backhanders and brown envelopes. Perhaps someone with previous experience at Southampton and/or the South Coast, maybe somebody who might not be in their present job at the end of this season. I cant think of any obvious candidates though.
  16. If only Mick Philpott had treated his kids like his batteries. Pack of six, full of energy, and not to be disposed of in fire. Still, at least he's the one being charged.
  17. Watch it, watch it, the Met will be onto you like a ton of bricks
  18. I realised that as soon as I posted.
  19. Sidestepped as usual. I await his whu prediction with bated breath, sooner or later he's going to have to call a win for us.
  20. I've actually found lawrenson's predictions genuinely amusing, especially since the Ramirez "he wont go there" jibe. Really look forward to him making an even bigger tw*t of himself week in, week out, its great to watch. Wonder what he'll say on MOTD in a few minutes
  21. Talking yesterday to a stokie mate, (he's coming down here on tuesday ) he reckons the fans are sick to death of pulis and "pulisball" as they term it. He also pointed out that on form since christmas, stoke would be bottom of the division, they are the worst performing team of the year so far. We could quite possibly relegate them on the last day.
  22. Adkins wasn't the first choice, as I recall it. They were turned down by their preferred candidate, and NA was hired only after that had happened.
  23. So he hasn't given up hope of an England call-up, then?
  24. Di Canio would give his right arm for a win.
  25. Have we launched yet? Has Strangelove been contacted?
