  1. The conference basically was ok. It shows the direction the companies have gone in. They are following Nintendo's lead and trying to get into the casual market. In that sense it was pretty good. Kinect has massive potential, i would buy one just for the fact i will no longer need a remote to watch tv. Proper Voice activation is finally here. Also having ESPN on there for free is quality as means i can cancel my current ESPN deal with Sky. Means i can watch all the televised football for £72 less a year, which is a big saving for sports fans. The Forza thing was also quality as shows what can be done to imerse you in a game/product. Add to that the eventual 3d update will make it even better. So all in all it was ok. The games they showed were awesome, Reach will be a sales monster. The new console looks nice too. Also the old 360's have just been price dropped to £99. Bargain.
  2. The problem with that though is those people represent the hardcore gaming community. This thing is not really aimed at them. It is aimed at the casual market i.e Wii market. The response from those people is very positive, Eurogamer have a nice piece on it. The hardcore gamer stuff will be shown in 8mins. I myself am not really too bothered by the natal thing, but i think it has potential if done right.
  3. Ok here is one some of you should be more interested in. Fifa 11! It is a feature called Personality Plus. It shows the technical side of how stats will be different and thus make different players stand out in various areas above others. I think it is a really good move. However no doubt will once again make the game mega hard to begin with! http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/fifa-11s-personality-system-explained
  4. A long way to go before that happens fella! The way i see it is thursday is judgement day. If the CVA is rejected (which obviously HMRC will) then they have to go back and come up with either a better offer or potentially start the shutting down process. If the CVA is accepted then i wonder if we will then see that whole financial iregularities thing happen. Plus i doubt HMRC will just let it go. Pompey have been in admin since february, 4 months ago. In that time how have they scaled back costs? The admin team seem to be doing a very poor job of cutting costs by the looks of things.
  5. Cheers guy Well that is rumoured to be the new 360 slim, although by the looks of it the console is not slim so not sure how that works! Last night was the natal conference. It has an official name now called "Kinect". Lot's of Wii style games were shown including a sports type game made by Rare, which has football on it. Lucas Arts showed a star wars game where you have a lightsabre. And Disney showed some weird game that didn't really show anything other then Tinkerbell flying.... Rumours abound saying "Kinect" comes in two different variations, with one costing maybe £120. Which i can't see shifting too many at that price. Guess were find out at 6pm today
  6. Anyone speak italian?
  7. Good job to those who did it. I think it looks great!
  8. Also GAME seem to have a timer on their site saying when Natal will be released... http://www.game.co.uk/?cm_mmc=BMM-G-_-Brand-_-Brand countdown ends in 5hrs The Natal conference is tonight so we should expect to see the details about it later.
  9. My predictions this year are : 360 Slim and price cut : A new Grand Theft Auto game announced at MS conference. (I doubt exclusive but MS paid £50m to Rockstar for the GTA4 addons which are now on other formats, so would not be surprised to see some form of exclusivity i.e timed release). What is annoying is the shows are shown on loads of US channels like MTV, it is even being broadcast in times square! Just a pity our MTV would rather show "The Hills" Anyway the photos are now in and the place looks cool as always!
  10. Naughty Bear E3 guide/trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/player/101207.html That is among the most messed up things i have seen... Jumpgate Evolution trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK3rbRJ87Ks&feature=player_embedded Shogun Total War 2 announced (nice!) Shank trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez1b11htakc&feature=player_embedded That look's really interesting, quality art style Marvel Vs Capcom 3 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-marvel-vs/101062
  11. It begins... Yesterday Gametrailers had a E3 Preview show where some games were announced and some new trailers shown. Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 had a cinematic trailer shown Pretty awesome New Gran Turismo 5 trailer Killzone 3 announced trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StBgTO5TPh0&feature=player_embedded Pirates of the Caribbian new game announced Dead Space 2 announced
  12. Well it is that time of year again. Christmas time for electronics fans! For those who don't know E3 is when all the mega companies of the world come together in LA to announce what secret stuff they have been working on. Expect a shead load of new games to be announced, new devices shown i.e Natal,Iphone 4g,WiiHD? etc etc The rumour mill is already in full swing with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima (Konami) starting another countdown on their website http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/e3_2010/ They did that last year and it turned out to be a new Metal Gear game on PS3 and for first time 360. What can it be this time? Cooking Mama Solid? Microsoft are kicking the show off on monday with not one but two conferences. One for Natal and the traditional one. Rumours are going around that they could be about to do some 3D announcement, should be interesting. Can watch the conferences on most electronic websites i.e Gamespot/IGN/G4TV. Might be on some sky channels too i.e the gaming ones.
  13. The vast majority of people have internet now. Saints and Daily Echo are two different companies. They owe The Echo nothing at all. Why should they wait with news just so The Echo can get it into their next paper? That gives The Echo money off of the clubs news. The Echo will have it up on their site within a few hours anyway. The way they have behaved recently i think it is pretty safe to say Saints will not lose sleep over not informing The Echo of their plans! On topic in regards to the shirt, at first glance was not too happy, but i think it will grow on you. Look forward to getting it on saturday!

I actually did think about joining up when i was younger. A part of me wishes i did. My brother is in the RAF and works with Helicopters. I am actually one of the few in my family who have not been with the armed forces at somepoint. But i have always been interested in it. Regardless i have enough friends in the various forces. They all seem nice enough and "normal" to me. Also to just touch up on what you said above about direction etc.. I find that somewhat hard to believe. One of my mates who i went to school with was not very good at school, was a bit thick really. When he left school he tried to be a postman and hated it. Then tried to be some office assistant and again hated it as he said he felt being in an office everyday was a waste. Eventually he decided to join the army as he was bumbling from job to job. 18 years later and he has worked his way up the ladder and now sits as a major. He worked his ass off to progress. Sure he might not ever go higher then that rank but i respect him a lot for getting there. He will be the first to tell you the army is the best thing to happen to him. I am sure a **** load of people who join the army do so for the exact same reason.

See i disagree really. I think having something like that installs discipline in people and teaches them to understand that people rely on them. It makes them understand they are apart of a group which only works if they all pull in the same direction. Don't get me wrong it won't cure all the broken society type things but it will install a self confidence which a lot of these kids badly need. Obviously war is not easy, as i said they should not be anywhere near the front line. And obviously a lot of those who come back from action suffer in some way i.e psychological problems etc.. But that also happens a lot in every day life too. All i am saying is these kids today don't seem to have any direction to their lives, just a conveyor belt of them coming out of school and doing nothing. I am pretty sure these kids would find more meaning to their life by doing service like so many other countries then just sitting in a bus shelter every day doing nothing. They are better then that.

I 100% agree with this. I travelled quite a bit a few years back and when i was in Europe i realised that quite a few countries do this. Sort of like a mandatory service for a year at around 18. I think part of the problem for the yoof is that they sort of have no aspirations to be much. Rather then try to be something they just give up and feel the whole world is against them. So in terms of real action i hope they are never put anywhere near our real troops on the front line as it has recipe for disaster. "Dave go get some more ammo, fast, we can't hold these guy's off much longer!. "bovered". But i think if they did proper military camp/training and a tour of duty in Afghan/Iraq but not in the front line it would do them the world of good. Our problem is we go to easy on them.

I am currently reading overlord. Think it is very good. I read Beevors books and was not really impressed by them especially Berlin. But yeah anyone who has read overlord will see it in a whole new light. Those brave people will never be forgotten.
  18. The Sun just posted an interview with him http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/worldcup2010/3000647/Spain-star-Xavi-says-his-football-hero-was-Matt-Le-Tissier.html I remember this was mentioned awhile ago, not sure if just the sun got wind of it or a whole new interview. Nice read though
  19. You have to think chances are hmrc will win the court case. Football is now such a huge business that it has to be treated like everyone else now. The creditors rule was not going to last forever and by overturning it will mean you won't be able to just forget about the unsecured debt. It will be another deterrent to running your club badly. What ****es me off is Portsmouth are not in proper admin. The guy supposed to be getting money into the club does not seem to be doing it. They are running day to day with costs being paid by the former owner. You have to assume those costs will have to be repaid and probably in full. Rather then look for a legit way to help the club they have tried to go down a dark path by trying to force through the cva and make the former owner the owner once more. The fact hmrc are now going against this rule will have massive implications for chinari. Because if they win everyone is entitled to a slice of the parachute payments. To get a cva through they will probably have to double the current offer and i think we have to assume they won't offer that. So i wonder if that happens will chinari bail because he is hanging around for his slice of the parachute payments. If he only gets a fraction of it and will get none of the future money then why would he continue to throw his money away? Either way i think it is now likely the cva will not be agreed in time and they will get a further points deduction.
  20. Maybe he is being apointed to make sure any money from transfers is actually used to pay debts rather then just vanish like the rest of the money. I think he is there to watch the Android and make sure the deals are legit. After all the guy negotiating the deals is actually facing criminal charges for being dodgy over transfers in the past. It is like having a pie thief running your pie shop! You just know he is going to steal a pie!
  21. Think the club have dropped the ball somewhat in regards to the payment option. A few mates will have to buy individual tickets which means obviously spending more money. It does seem silly what with the recession not being long over and people about to go on holidays etc.. The prices have gone up by quite a bit and personally i see that as a kick in the teeth for those who paid additional costs last year to go to the cup games too. This is obviously a business but we now realise any signings are now paid for by us. It is no longer a one guy spending his own money thing. For a club in the 3rd division tickets should've been a lot cheaper. They have received more money from the recent pl changes, aswell as tv money and soon to be shirt money which will be just for one year. They could of been a bit more inventive with this being our 125th year. They should've got as many people as possible into the stadium to help the promotional push. You now have to expect attendences to be down. The honeymoon is now over in regards to those in charge.
  22. I think really only those people who actually go to the games, see how we were at that period will feel a connection to it. Reading about it and seeing it are two very different things. I remember the faces of the fans after that last game where it looked like we were not only relegated but could be finished altogether. I remember the people trying to help out by raising money somehow to help. This club should never be put in a position like that ever again. Anyone who truely cares about this club will agree. So while the past 12 months have been great, we should never forget where we were and how we got there. The future is bright, the future is red and white
  23. If your on the iPhone why not take a picture of him at the stag night?
  24. They have a signing players embargo on them. So until they clear their football debt they can't sign anyone. I think they will have no choice but to play their youngsters next year.
  25. I wonder if HMRC want the money they are owed or just want a club to go under. Because if a club goes under it will set an example. Add to this Uefa's financial plans yesterday in regards to their competitions it would appear they are now wanting to stamp this out. I can't see HMRC taking the 20p offer. If they are owed something like £25m and are going to get £5m paid at £1m a year i can't see them being too happy with that. And thus can't see them taking it.
