  1. Great player, his goals and assists speak for themselves. I would understand those complaining if he was not contributing etc.. but he has and by a lot. He has emense potential. Just look at the quality of his goals. He is a type of player we have missed at this club for a long time. Someone with the ability to create something out of nothing while also chipping in with goals. Good player and glad he is here.
  2. At the end of the day what happened in the summer and the points deduction/bad start due to crap players cannot be changed. What has changed is that since then we have done very well. We are averaging 2 points a game and have been for sometime, that is auto promotion form. So can't really complain about what happened months ago. It happened and we moved on, we are a much better club now in every aspect.
  3. Sign of confidence though isn't it. It is also a sign of not being experienced. I remember when Ronaldo was younger and he did the same thing, time after time would just run into the guy in front of him. But he turned out alright in the end. While i don't think Puncheon will be anywhere as good as Ronaldo i think it is good we have a player like him who does not have that fear. A lot of the time it won't work, but sometimes it will. He has 6 assists in 12 league games. That is a pretty good record. Even though he has not been here long he is already the 2nd top assister here, 2nd only to king Rickie. So while it can be annoying, it does work a lot of the time, i would rather he did not try and stop doing that.
  4. Good game and we deserved to win. Thought we had the far better of it and looking at the stats it shows how much better we were technically. We had 56% possesion, had 15 shots to their 5 of which 1 was on target, they had more corners. On a great run of games and consistently at the 2 points a game ratio which is impressive. Think based over the last 8 games we are 2nd in form, i would imagine rampaging Millwall are 1st. Some great results going our way too. Win our game in hand and have 5 games to make up 5 points. It is going to be close, but you never know. I am sure if we had say 8 games left to play we would of made it for sure.
  5. I have done a fair bit of "acquiring" here over the years http://www.romnation.net/ Use the geneis emulator quite a bit playing the old classics like sunset riders
  6. To people saying the cup games were draws etc.. Surely the rules of the match are "there has to be a winner" and if that is not done in normal time a penalty shoot out is used to stop it from being a draw? It really is quite simple. If the match ended after 90mins and the score was level it is a draw. If the match ended after penalties and one side scored more then the other then one is the winner. Our cup games we "won" via penalties. Thus they are wins. There really is no argument against it.
  7. Talk about over-reacting, anyone really surprised by the reaction on here? They had pretty much 1 shot for the entire 2nd half and we were "lucky to win"? How does that work?! We had an off day today. Too many players not involved in the game. But that being said we still had more chances then they did and always looked like the team more likely to win. They got an early goal and then mass defended. How many times have we seen that over the previous seasons and come away with nothing? We showed character to come back from behind and if Puncheon had taken his chances it would of been a bigger gap. What get's me is the team battle hard and win games and some slate them for it. Your never going to play every game like we have for majority of this season. We have played far better then that and still lost. The negativity by the crowd did not help matters. People need to get a grip and actually support the team ffs. Some of you are doing the whole moan when we lose, moan when we draw and moan when we win thing. The performances do not matter, what matters is we are not playing too well but still grinding out the results. That is something we have not seen at this club in a long long time. I would much rather we play **** and win then play amazing and get beat, especially at this part of the season!
  8. Exactly and that is what makes me laugh the most at these people. Because their whole argument is we should be doing better, i.e we are doing bad results wise. Which is total and utter ********. As mentioned above the table from the 1st of this year has us 4th with a game in hand. With the far majority of those games being played away. On current form we sit 3rd, if we win today we will be 1st. How can you do better then being the team getting the most points per game in the league? You can't. That is why what they are saying is stupid because it is like telling someone who won a race they are crap.
  9. The start of the season in terms of the amount of points we generated was a huge blow. If we had just 2 extra wins we would be looking at a 5 point gap with a game in hand. That would make things look a lot different with 7 games to go. This team we have now if they played any 10 teams in this league you would bet your house on them winning more then 2 games. We are still in with a chance. But we have to win nearly every game now. It just means we will run out of games if we don't. If we don't make it some will think that means we failed, had a bad season, had a crap manager etc.. when that would be wrong.
  10. I think your missing the point mate. What people are/were saying is that due to what happened 6 odd months ago this club did not hit this season running. If the season started for us after those first 10 games as others have pointed out we would be in the mix. I think MLG even produced a table showing where everyone would be. But the first 10 games did happen and they were ****. 1 win or something. That is bad. No team is going to get promoted after winning just 1 of the first 10 games, especially with a -10 to begin with. For us to be where we are right now is actually very good. People try and deny it by making it sound like we are not doing so well. The stats show on form we are 3rd, the team we drew away with recently that was such a bad result apparently, sit 2nd. From the final whistle on the first game the playoffs were never going to happen. To expect them was crazy in my view. If we find that poll Arizona made around the 20 game mark most people voted us to be around mid-table. I myself said the same. The only reason we are in with a shout now is due to three crucial things. 1. We have strengthened the team over the holidays. 2. Teams above us have started to wobble in form 3. Since the jan window shut we have played 14 games. 8 of those games have been away. Of those games we won 7, drew 5 and lost just 2. On this run we beat three of the top 6 in Norwich,Leeds and Huddersfield. In that period we generated 1.9 points per game. If we had that ratio for the entire season we would be sitting 3rd on 72 points, 1 point behind 2nd with a game in hand. If you then take away the -10 we would be 3 points away from the playoffs with a game in hand. That shows just how damaging both the points deduction and our start have been. But it also shows how if the season continued by another 10 games we would finish comfortably in the playoff zone at our current points per game ratio.
  11. Based on our team after our 1st game of the season we would have gone down. If you think Patterson or Saga were going to bag 30+ goals to put us where we are now then you are loco. Of the squad who started that game only 2 outfield players remain. So yes times change. They changed after we started bringing in players who actually are decent players, players who actually want to work as a team and players who were brought in by our current manager. Without those players we in my opinion would of gone down. It was only people such as you who expected that old team to get promoted. I guess we are lucky that the staff at the club did not share your belief in their ability hey.
  12. Win our game in hand and we are just 8 points away. On monday we have Orient while Colchester have Millwall and Huddersfield have an improving Oldham. Meaning if we win our game on monday and they lose, then we win our game in hand (which is at home to Oldham) then we could be 5 points away with 6 games to play. What a difference a couple of games can make hey. Also based on last 8 form we sit 3rd http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/oform.html With all the doom merchants on here you would think we are in **** form!
  13. Under Pardew we have won 28 of our 50 games this season. A 56% win ratio. And some of you want to change that?! Goodluck finding someone else who can match that win %.
  14. A draw away to one of the in form teams. Good result end of.
  15. Think this is a fine example of why a lot of people no longer post here. We won our first trophey for 30 odd years. Have had a great season off the back of our worst ever seen, one that might have put us in the ground forever. But some people just can't be happy, they are only happy when looking for things to complain about. These people need to be banned for their own sake, maybe being detatched from the forum might make them start to see the good in the club again. Also on a side note i watched it back on sky plus, you do indeed hear some booing, it is so faint it is unbelievable. Having been there and then seen it again on tv it is without a shadow of a doubt due to the wave ending. How you got from that it must mean everyone hates Cortese or something is shocking. Move on.
  16. The boos in the build up were because of Lord Whiner was on the red carpet
  17. What a steaming load of ********, as said above it was because we were doing the group wave and when it got round to their 5 fans they did not join in, hence the boo.
  18. Ok right what i don't get is who is owed what. Gaymark is owed £30m, Chin Chinari is owed £15m, the HMRC are owed around £12m. That is around £57m owed. Where the hell does the other £43m debt come from? That is totally stagering to think a club with gates under 20,000 could get that much into debt. If that debt is true and it really is £100m then nobody is going to buy them. It would take you decades to recover that money at a club like that. What also doesn't make sense to me is the admin guy pushing already for the CVA to be done. Obviously Gaymark will sign it, but he is still going to want his money, Chainiri is going to sign it, but he will also want his money. But the HMRC won't sign it, those football people i.e agents owed money won't sign it, i doubt Sol Campbell will, i doubt clubs owed money will sign it etc etc. Which means even if they could get a CVA signed they would still have to pay back the people owed the money. That means that all those who signed the CVA will take their money back at some point. Now in the CCC Pompey will earn a fraction of what they did in the PL. With nobody to put money into the team and club they will not have any chance of coming back up. And if anything looks dodgy to the FL they will hammer you for it as we ourselves have seen.
  19. Which shows why football is a game of opinions as i thought he was probably the cause of us losing our way.
  20. Well the result is all that matters really. I felt we didn't play too well, especially in the 2nd half. I don't want to be too critical but personally i felt Wotten was the odd one out, he sort of wasted a lot of passes and it spread from there. It looked like we were playing with 10 men to be honest. He didn't know his role and kept putting pressure on us by wasted passes etc.. That made the crowd get nervous which in turn made things harder. We got there in the end and overall i think we were fortunate to win. But hey we have played great and lost lots of times this year so i will take it. Interestingly in the last 8 form guide we sit 2nd and Colchester sit 16th. http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/oform.html We are averaging 2 points a game and they are averaging 1 point a game. Meaning if we continue our form and they continue theirs we could just nick that last spot. Our next game against Brighton is massive. They play Wycombe at home which should be 3 points. If we win against Brighton then we have a chance to claw back points in the next two games as they play Millwall and Swindon, two teams very much in form. Meaning we could get points on them in those games. With 9 games left it is possible but if we perform like that then it will be hard, if Wotten is now in for Morgan due to him being injured then we are in deep ****.
  21. So then this Lloyd fella is £28m in debt so he won't be buying them. His "friend" wants to remain annonymous and stay out of the lime light etc... Which makes me think, hang on if your "friend" had loads of money then why have you not got him to invest in your company which is about to go bankrupt? If Lloyd was known for his financial decisions then surely he would of done that? If you look at it as a whole they have been in admin sometime now and nothing has changed. They are still in loads of debt, and are no nearer getting a buyer. And because of their genius' self-appointed administrator's recent comments the HMRC want all the money they are owed or they won't sign a CVA. Which is massively important. Because that means the club will get further points deduction next year unless they are paid. Meaning who would buy a club like Portsmouth in the CCC with a potential 15/25 point deduction, with a really awful squad made even more awful with contract expiry's and loan deals ending etc.. If Awford on the solent thinks the Pompey fans have suffered too much after winning the cup and still being in the PL, then he is going to top himself when he sees a dire youth team trying to keep the club in the CCC but ultimatly failing!
  22. Could not really do anymore then we did. Hit the bar i think twice, post twice, Morgan had a shot cleared off the line and so did someone else. Just one of those days, nothing more. They took one of their chances, we didn't. That is football. I will enjoy a day out at wembley and then start looking forward to next season.
  23. We really have been stitched by refs this year. Let's hope we get some decent ones for the rest of our season.
  24. On paper at least we have the easiest run in of games on 6th spot while also having a game in hand on swindon. So say we win our game in hand and beat them in our next game when it is all leveled up we would be 10 points behind with 10 games to go. They have to still play Leeds,Norwich,Colchester,Walsall and Millwall, most of those away. We have to win at least 10 games out of our last 12 to get to the playoffs i would guess. It is going to be tough. But we have nothing to lose. Hopefully the bad ref decisions we have had this year will start to even out over these games.
  25. The Sun think they have a dodgy email from him http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2890963/Peter-Storrie-has-questions-to-answer-as-we-reveal-explosive-e-mail.html
