If that happened then it would make the new regime look very stupid. The crowd got into the "only one AP chant", think that shows what the fans of the club think of AP. I don't think we will have a chairman who was like our previous in firing people for nothing. I personally don't even believe NC put any pressure on Pardew at all, as MLG said i think that was just a piece of journalism that was reported in a sensationilist way.
-
Think people have made waaaay to much out of it. I heard it on the way home and at the time thought it was a bit daft questioning really. He said no one was outstanding meaning everyone played as a team and as a team they were outstanding. I think Solent took that the wrong way. As for the negative remark i 100% agree. I rarely listen to solent because i am at the games but listening to the Wycombe commentary some of the things said, especially by Dave Merrington was way over the top. Getting 7 points from the previous 9 is good form and it didn't sound like it was being presented to well. I think Dave really does come across too negative in what he talks about. The Norwich game was one of the best games i have seen us play, and i would say we played better in that game then todays. I think he was right with his answer in response to Dave saying he things they are the best team. We are not the best team, we are a team trying to be the best. You have to earn that tag and i feel Pardew was saying we have yet to earn it, and he would be right. I would much rather have a guy in charge who is grounded in reality rather then someone who tries to get carried away.

Lookslike they got a Zombie outbreak down Fratton Park too!
-
I wasen't talking about that.... If the PL have already said a team will get -9 points for going into admin, have said no selling of players outside the window and have said no advance payments on either tv money or parachute money etc.. why does this guy feel confident that each of those points will be overturned? If he was that confident those things would not be that way then why did nobody buy the club seeing as they would be getting an advancement of around £16m from the parcahute payments? If it is business as usual and they have this supposed financial backing then won't the HMRC have the appeal to go into admin looked at and maybe declined by the courts? Have the HMRC actually said anything?
-
So let me get this straight. If this guy has the backing to get the club to the end of the season then why did they go into admin? Why not just continue as they were? The guy said he sounded confident that PL will not give them -9, that PL and Fifa will let them sell outside the window and the PL will give them an advancement of the parachute payments. But wasen't that already asked before and it was rejected on all accounts? Again asking the question if they were confident of those things happening why did they go into admin? It just seemed like the guy was talking loads of ********. Even the sky lawyer sky said he had no chance and it is likely the club will get further points deductions due to HMRC not going to sign a CVA... Is he Storrie in disguise?
-
So has it been confirmed the court case on monday now won't happen?
-
advert for it pretty cool
-
What ****ed me off in that news peice was this line from him "I have already spoken to the administrator and he wants to keep things settled, which means me staying on" The ****er should be fired

Another important point is when they are confirmed down this year and in admin they will sell the last remaining players who are worth anything. The loan players will return to their parrent clubs. Leaving an already dire team a lot dire. Meaning next season if they are in the CCC they will have to field their youth team due to having no funds to buy players. Meaning they will likely be battling relegation next season too. If they don't have a CVA then they could get a -20 deduction too. So either way you look at it there is no "get out of it" scenario. The only way that happens is if some rich guy takes over, clear's their debts and puts money in the club to buy the players to get them up the table. Which is unlikely. So rather then being put out of their misery they are just set to suffer for at least another 12 months. Someone said they will never grace the PL again after this and you hae to say at least for the long forseable future they are right.
-
Think this one is pretty self explanitory. Unless you think admin teams bring with them shead loads of cash to pay the operating costs everyday? So then 24hrs since good ole Red and Whites rather lovely post. Still waiting for that apology

Really sorry to hear that SC, sincerely hope he will be ok

Draw at Norwich and Win at Wycombe = good 4 points
St Marco replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
And as i mentioned in another thread. This weekend Huddersfield go away to Leeds and we then play them in midweek. If they lose to leeds and us they will be 13 points ahead of us with us having 2 games in hand on them. Meaning when you level it up it could be a 7 point gap. I think these 6 away games out of the last 8 games could be a blessing in disguise for us. We got pretty much 50% of the away points on offer and that is pretty decent. We could look back at our last 5 away as won 1 and drew 4 as a decent run of results after the home run of games. -
Indeed. Plus also to sort of kill the defence of those having a pop about performances not being good etc.. We have lost once in 8 games, 6 of those games were away. Our last 5 away games we sit 6th in the league, and our last 5 home games we sit 2nd in the league. Meaning both our home and away forms are promotion level form. You can't ask for more then that. 4 of our next 5 games are home games. If we win those 4 and draw the away game we will be fine. We have had a strange run of fixtures due to games being canceled. But if we win at the weekend, Huddersfield lose away to Leeds and then we beat them on tues we will be 13 points behind them with 2 games in hand. If we win all our home games and draw all our away games we will be there or there abouts.
-
5 of the last 6 games have been away. If we won a home game then drew an away game things would appear much better. In the long term i don't think these have been a bad set of results. Of those 5 away games we won 1 and drew 4. Which means we got nearly 50% of the points available. Which is not too bad. If you look at the last 5 away games we sit 6th. With a better record then most of the teams we are trying to catch i.e Swindon. We have the 2nd best home record currently. 4 of the next 5 games are home games. If we win all those home games then we will be in the mix. We should be beating teams like this, the players should be putting in more effort against the lesser teams. But it is not a bad result and we are not on a run of bad results. 1 loss in the last 8 league games. 6 of those games were away. We have a nice run of home games now. Win those and draw your away games and your always do well.

It will be quite sad them going into admin really. We will not hear Storrie tell us how they are about to be bought by someone in 48hrs again. Or the staff will be paid soon after a mix up with a computer file.....
-
http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/Football/Headlines/0,,12555~1975012,00.html In this piece Chanrai says it is unlikely a buyer will be found before monday. Quite the opposite from Storrie saying "i am confident the club will be takeover on monday" then... Unless he means takeonover by the baliffs of course
-
That is a good point View From the Top Basically they have said they are going into admin on friday if no deal is done. So why would anyone want to come in now when they know in a couple of days they could get it for a fraction of the price for the admin team? At that point the buyer becomes more powerful because the admin team will need money, their negotiating strategy would be simple i.e give us your ******* money. Where as negotiating with the current people ala Storrie etc it is obviously not that simple.
-
"If" they do go into admin i can't see the HMRC signing off their debt. The reason they are in this situation is because of that debt you would think. SG and BC would not chase the debt or want them to go into admin. Least that is what i think.
-
So lets assume they go into admin, they get the -9 meaning they are down. They manage to somehow keep going for a couple of months until the end of the season. Once that final game has been played does that then mean the PL no longer have any say in the matter? I.e does it mean Pompey then come under the FL rules and not the PL? Maybe Red and White can answer seeing he is an adult who knows what is going on apparently? Also was it confirmed they had to pay £1.8m to the taxman yesterday?
-
Because we are slightly biased If this was about Luton going under or i don't know Bolton. Would we have the same 333 pages? Probably not!
-
But that is a bit moronic benji because all we have to inform us is what others have said or what we ourselves have read. How else would we be informed about the situation? I don't know anyone on the actual board at the club who gives me the info first hand, do you? What i said is what the 5 live guy said. If he wants to argue about what points are wrong then he should do so, it just makes him look dumb by not doing so. Because all of the things i said are things which most of the papers/media have said could/will happen. It is not some "out there" theory that i made up. As complex as the whole thing is the outcomes are very few. Everyone is saying admin, all the news wires are saying admin. Without those people saying those things we would not have any idea at all in regards to what is happening. But we will see what happens in the next few days and then i will wait for his apology
-
Well i do have a clue thank you very much. Not only do i work in business analysis but i actually remember! I remember what various people have already said. And what i said is what the admin guy on the radio 5 live show said would happen. As i said right at the start, i was not 100% sure about it, thus it is an opinion of what "could" happen. So calm down love, no need to cry about it.
-
Im not 100% sure on this one but i think if they are placed into admin by a creditor (which before monday is the only way they can go into it) then the HMRC case is canceled due to them not having a prefered creditor status. The court case is about Pompey owing money. In the negotiations they have argued they will pay it, just not all up front. If they go into admin it means they won't be able to pay it and thus the court case is pointless. Because being in admin they will already be protected by the courts and the admin team will try and find the money to pay back the creditors. If they went into court on monday with everything remaining as it is then they would probably be put in admin by the judge anyway. With the SOA i think if it has been poved that they have traded when insolvent then a individual case can be brought against the people involved. In which they can be barred from being a director of a company and so on. As others have mentioned this is when things could become messy for the club. Because if let's say they go into admin, the admin team find the money and they then come out of admin and all is ok. In that case the judge could find and convict for financial irregularities. If that happens while they are in the CCC then they will get further points deductions or could even be kicked out of the league such as what happened to Swindon. It is all very complex but if they are in admin i don't think the court case will go ahead. If the admin team can't find the money to keep the club running then they will go bankrupt anyway.

Portsmouth stare into the abyss Portsmouth began the most critical seven days of their 112-year history by suffering a heavy blow to their hopes of surviving when Victor Cattermole, one of the *parties interested in buying the club, ruled out taking over before Monday's winding‑up petition http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/23/portsmouth-victor-cattermole-takeover-bid The other guys want to take at least a week before deciding by the sounds of it. Which obviously means they will not have been takenover by monday. Think this bit is important too "Portsmouth were also due to pay a monthly PAYE and National Insurance bill of £1.8m yesterday. It was unclear if these monies had been paid but if the club failed to meet the commitment it would only weaken Portsmouth's case at the high court "
