wow that is a pretty amazing deal right there! I guess they are trying to make way for the new Final fantasy bundles coming in soon? If you don't have a 360 yet that is a bargain. Will be able to play my tips for Game of the year Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2!

The PL might aswell create a new rule called "Rule 36, none of the other rules apply to portsmouth, they have invincibility mode on"

It does not really matter about the statement of affairs to be honest and even if it favours Pompey it doesnt change anything. They were given a reprieve based on the fact they argued they were about to be taken over and wanted more time to complete it. A week later and they don't appear any closer. They only have 7 working days left now until the court case. And if they are to avoid having the plug pulled they have to have funds in place to pay their debts. If that is via a takeover or someone already in the club it does not matter. Before that date they have 2 games against Stoke and Burnley lose to either of them and they will effectively be down, draw them both and it will be the same. I can see them drawing to Stoke and then lose to Burnley and then it would not surprise me one bit to then see them go into admin. The other question is lets assume they get past the court case and they have a deal in place to pay back the debts. They then lose those games. If i remember right isn't march 10th the date you have to go into admin to get the points deduction this season?

SSN say it is on its way

SSN say Portsmouth have yet to receive the report Meaning they have under an hour to get it and hand it to HMRC
-
As far as i am aware Portsmouth will get their report once it has been handed to HMRC. So if it has yet to be handed in then they do not know what is in there so thus how can they say they are "confident it will be favourable"? If they saw the report before it was completed then they could try and change things in the report, which would then make the reports actual biasdness questionable would it not?

I would go into a defence of the whole "only nerds" play games thing (you guys know me!) but i can't be arsed The truth is games are now and have been for sometime the biggest selling form of entertainment. Meaning it sells more then music and films. So by that definition if you watch films or listen to music you must be a nerd! Plus statistics show that 40% of people playing games are actually female, and of that 40% 26% are over 50 years old http://www.marketingcharts.com/interactive/women-comprise-40-of-us-gamers-26-of-whom-are-over-age-50-5327/

on SSN now Nothing new, owe over £60m with £12m to taxman, £30m to old owner, £17m to current owner. Agents owed money, clubs owed money, former players owed money, local businesses etc etc. £1.8m wage bill to be paid. The two debts to the old owners obviously can be re-scheduled but the others can't and that it what the report is about. They have to proove they can pay their debts Solicitors will hand over the report before 4pm and judge has 2 days to decide what to do.

Basically the SOA is going to be a sorry sight of affairs . It will be like a horror story. Those thinking otherwise i think are forgetting one key thing. If it was not that bad then why have we had to listen to "Pompey does not pay bill to xyz" over the past 5 months? Which have resulted in a £12m winding up order? Unless the SOA is leaked to the media we probably wont find out until friday what has happened. But i am pretty certain that if it is as bad as we all think it is and the debt is more then we think it is (remember we thought the tax bill was £7m when it was actually £12m) then they are fooked. No judge will just go "pay it when you feel like it".

It is a report to show how the clubs finances are right now and to see if they have the means to pay their debts. If there are any details in there about new investors then it has to be cleared funds or cannot be used. The report is not allowed to use a "what if" scenario i.e xyz will pay "if" xyz happens. It has to be a document showing exactly where the company is right now in terms of its finances. It has to show its income and its outcome. So that means any debts they have left have to be shown. if they miss any out then they will get in big trouble for it as will be financial iregularities. The same goes for their income. They have to show everything in regards to where their money comes from. If for example it is shown they owe £60m in the report. And each month they lets say spend £1m, but income wise they only make 500k a month means they are running at a loss and thus could be insolvent. If the gap between the income and loss is too great then the judge has to make a decision based on that. They cannot make a decision based on what if's.

Here is the report whichif i remember right Cnet showed http://www.squaretrade.com/htm/pdf/SquareTrade_Xbox360_PS3_Wii_Reliability_0809.pdf This showed that PS3 failure rate was 10%. It showed that 360 failure rate was 23% and Wii was just 2.7%. This report was done using the first 2 years of ownership. That was when 360 was at its worst in terms of dodgy parts, which it had an abundence of. The same company did the same survey again later and found 360 failure rate was now just 4% http://www.examiner.com/x-13078-Rochester-Xbox-360-Examiner~y2009m12d5-360-failure-rate-now-less-than-4 Point being the 360 failure rate in its 1st 2 years was a joke, the machine was not ready for release and it seemed they were trying to fix it as they went along. Disgusting if you ask me. But the important thing about that data is it was done by a company who actually deals with the fixing procedure, so it has the hardware to work on. Putting a poll on a games forum to see how many people have had busted machines is always going to be flawed. So we see both consoles had a high failure rate with 360 at that point double the failure rate of the PS3, which is bad. But now the 360 has a failure rate of around 4% and PS3 has according to Sony now a 1% failure rate. Which means both consoles had flaws (remember the watchdog programme on bbc about ps3 failures?) but now the chances of any of the consoles breaking is unlikely. So as i said before, it really is the luck of the draw.

I think it is safe to say Portsmouth have lost the support of most people and now from the media too. A few weeks/months back you had articles about how bad it would be for Portsmouth to go under etc.. How unfortunate they are to be in their situation. Now it seems it has gone the other way where people see them in the same image as say a benefit cheat or something.
-
Avoid this game like the plague, seriously it is bad, almost Lair bad!
-
Sadly mine died just before xmas. Took two weeks to get it sorted. The old 360's are really really awful. But the ones made from about a year and a half ago are fine. So if you have one of those chances of it breaking are small, in fact Cnet did a study and found its failure rate was equal to that of the PS3. Which main defect is the white light of death and the problem i had which was the harddrive dying. They also found in the study that Sony's customer service was the worst of the three consoles. trying to arrange a return with Sony was like trying to tell the police you were innocent for a crime you did not commit! Things break, especially electronics. It really is the luck of the draw. Ironically two of my friends who bought launch 360's, the ones which are a time bomb waiting to go off have had zero problems with them, while they both have had problems with their PS3's. Half of the problem with the whole rrod thing is it was very widely publicised. What is funny is a lot of those people who said they had the ring of death, later found out it was the safety ring telling them the power supply had been unplugged, doh!
-
If he has the ring of death then the console is under warrenty due to MS saying they would be extending the warrenty on it for a further 3 years. The two lights i think means the power supply has been pulled out the back or something. When mine died about 7 months ago they charged me £20 to replace it. So sounds like he either explained his problem wrong to them or the assistant on the phone had no idea what they are doing. Just get him to ring them up and say you have the red ring of death. They should sort it for free then. And ask for some free games. I got Gears of War and Crackdown because mine broke
-
I think what is also important is that in the case last week the reason why they were given time was because they made it sound a takeover was iminent. They actually said offers on the table if i remember right? Well 6 days on from then no takeover and Storrie talking about these other offers. Like the guy at the news of the world says there is probably no offer. When he gets a phone call he implies it must be a offer when it is not the case. We had over 50 supposed groups interested in us. Only 1 put the money where their mouth was. When this financial report is done i hope the judge uses her common sense when reading it and that it obviously shows they have no money and will not be getting any money.

Pardew expects Southampton board to keep their word
St Marco replied to John B's topic in The Saints
After going to both Man U and Pompey game it is crystal clear how far we have improved since then. The manager is 1 of the many reasons for that. NC is doing a good job and obviously wants this club to succeed. As do we all. But i hope he takes a good look at this club and other clubs recent history and sees just how instant success is when you change your manager. Just ask Bolton, 1 win in 8. clubs who do well build towards it. Man utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton,Villa etc.. Clubs who are doing well because they looked beyond the current season. We all knew this season was a right off the momment we went into admin. But at that momment we would of all taken the -10 then go out of business. Next season is our season and the one in which everything needs to go into. Next season i coud not give a monkies about the cups. In a way i hope we get knocked out of them all in the 1st round so we have no distractions from the league. BUT We now have nothing to lose. We will not reach the playoffs and we will not get relegated. We should go into our remaining league games playing positively like we did against the Skates. Every game now should be treated like that derby game and the players should put in the same work rate and desire. If they do that then we have a slim chance of reaching that final spot. we have 2 games in hand over 6th place and the others. If we win them we will be around 9th and 12 points behind with 16 games left. We have in my opinion only 2 really tough games left that we would not be favourites to win against Norwich and Leeds. Those 2 games are going to be tough especially Norwich away but if we can get something from them then we have a good chance. I just hope the players realise that. -
Am very proud today of the players, fans, manager and of course the owner. It was a great game and showed to the uk how things have changed here. In contrast to the Man Utd beating last year things are the total opposite. We are a TEAM on the up, we played better then they did today. It hurts to lose but it is just a game, one that will be forgotten soon. As their loan players vanish into the distance when the season ends, when James and Grant leave in the summer and they start life in CCC with financial uncertainty they will fade away. This was their last big day out for a long long time. Normal service will resume.
-
Well what a day, other then the result am very happy. The atmosphere and passion was emense. They are a poor premiership team and if it wasen't for a mistake and James making quality saves it would of gone the other way. The players did us proud and everyone who i have spoken too who watched it on tv said we were the better team. What makes me even more happy is that they are dead certs to get relegated and if they have their problems in ccc they will get hammered. 2 more seasons and we will be above them. They may have won the battle, but we will win the war.
-
Just back and have to say you are a prize **** if you think that, anyone who criticises Pardew today needs to **** off. We WERE the better team, we did NOT deserve to lose. We were the team showing PASSION and we were the team who playing as a TEAM. The only reason they won is because Pompey hit their 300th long ball of the game which bounced in front of Perry, he slipped over, Dindane took a shot, it was going wide, it hit Kelvins leg and crept in off the post. That was the difference, 1 mistake. At that point we had to chase the game and push more bodies up field. They then pumped it long and hit us on the break twice. Pardew got it all spot on and got the boys playing with real desire and passion. The first half we were all over them and if it wasen't for James pulling off a couple of world class saves from Waigo and Lallana it would of been a different story. As for the Lambert taking set pieces thing, who else was going to take them? Harding had to stay back as he is the only defender with pace, what happens if he hits it and it goes to the 1st defender and they break? Lallana has not been effective from corners or free kicks. James was not there and Morgan has been poor too from them. I would of prefered Lambert in the box but i don't think we have anyone else on the pitch who can be as pin point as he can from crosses, free kicks. 2 of them which almost resulted in a goal.

Des Kelly (DailyMail), calling Portsmouth cheats and should go to the wall http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1250668/DES-KELLY-Portsmouth-cheats-let-wall.html?ITO=1490 awesome

Was chating with a mate about other derby's and how some have a high dismissal rate i.e Liverppol vs Everton. We tried to think of players who have been sent off in the games over the years and strugled to think of many. De Zeuw in 2004 Kamara in 2005 And that is all we got because our memory sucks! So anyone else think of any? Do you think someone will tomorrow and if yes who is most likely candidate? For us would have to think probably Thomas. Lets hope mr Webb does a good job
-
Ok so that would still mean it needs to be completed before weds and some of the money paid. Or the report will have to report what the finances are right now without a potential owner. Because you can't run a company or produce a financial report based on what might happen. Which to me sounds like they had been!
-
SOooo By weds the team doing the statement of affairs have to have concluded their report and given it to the judge. The judge then has 2 days to look at it and come up with a decision if the company has been trading insolvent and thus ilegally, correct? So as far as i understand it the court case is only needed if they survive that decision. Meaning they still have 9 days to proove they can trade legally and by their own means. So if Storrie says it will take 14 days to complete the takeover then the finances on weds will look the same as now. Which means if the judge thinks they are insolvent on friday she can appoint an admin team then, right?

Sometimes i wonder about our fans. Or at least some on this board, have yet to meet one away from it who shared that view. It makes me think who would want to manage us? If you get success your have muppets attacking you, and if you fail your have muppets attacking you.... People forget so easily history, so caught up in the now to forget the then. Which had to happen for the club to be where it was. Lawrie is a legend. The last and only manager in this clubs history to win the fa cup. If someone said to me "hey if Pardew got you guys promoted. got you to Wembley in the fa cup final and you won it, brought in Ronaldo and got you to 2nd in the premier league and all you had to do was give him a £250 season ticket for life, would you take it?" I think even the dumbest of mongs can answer that one
