  1. Yesterday Warnock said http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_5903676,00.html I doubt he would come out and say something like that if we had not had a bid placed. With them in admin you would have to assume today is the biggest day for their admin team as is the last chance to make money from players for 5 months. So if he is saying going to us is a step in the wrong direction and he would only be going because of the pay cheque then that leads me to believe we probably have had a bid accepted and have spoken to him. Which makes me think we will probably be signing him today.
  2. So i wonder what excuse they will use today about not paying the wages even though they just got £3m from the Kaboul sale? The cheque won't clear for 7 days?
  3. Basically the way I see it is like this. Anyone who went to games home/away last season and saw the total dross we played. Felt the horrible dread feeling of this could be our last game as we won't have a club next week, saw the fecking awful players we had out there who could not be arsed, the total sham of the board and its shenanigans and the numpty managers who were not so much more qualified then us etc is most likely happy and loving our season and where we now are. It would appear that those who don’t go, don’t have those experiences for some reason have the highest expectations of our fan base.
  4. a new video http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/red-dead-redemption-weapons-and-death About the weapons and things, awesome. Love the bit where they say you can go about things in different ways, if you wanted to you could kill the entire town and make it into a ghost town. But it would re-populate overtime. Or you can play cards, lose at it then shoot the person you lost to and re-take your money. Can't wait!
  5. Played it last night at mates house, total garbage. It is a weird game, 256 players but only really playing against 64 at a time. The tactical side of it seems non existent. The whole wait until the re-spawn timer is about to run out then press bleed out means next to no wait time in re-spawning. Which is great if you want to just keep playing. But makes the objectives a bit pointless if you have no spawn time ala CS,BF,DOD etc.. The orders system is stupid as nobody follows them. The leaders seem most of the time to not have a clue what they are doing. The graphics have not changed at all since the beta and are really really ****. The grass, trees, scenary might as well have been last gen. And the worst thing of all...Everyone is snipers. So having played counterstrike since the start, the battlefield series and of course call of duties this game is terrible in comparison to them. It just seems like a poor version of Battlefield 2. If you want a tactical shooter then play Red Orchestra. I am glad some of you are liking it though.
  6. If that is true that they flew up to Manchester and have stayed in a 5 star hotel having it large while the actual staff who need money have not been paid then that is a farce.
  7. They now accepting beta testers for the new online game http://fifa-online.easports.com/ Could be good
  8. So they are saying it is a £6m-£7m deal of which Portsmouth will get around £3m-£4m due to the money they owe Spurs for buying him 1st time around. Of that they have to pay around £1.6m in wages which are due and £1.7m to Sol Campbell for the money he is owed. Meaning = £3.3m. So basically they sold him to pay a few bills but ultimatly it won't change a thing. They still have huge debts and have probably just lost the player who could of made them the most transfer money. Without someone with a lot of money paying some of their debts in the next week and a half they are gone.
  9. Acording to http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/table/default.stm Millwall are 6th. They are the team who are in the last playoff spot and thus the team we are chasing. We have a game in hand on them. If the other teams win their games and replace them in 6th spot then they will become the team we are chasing. But right now they are the team in the spot we want to be in.
  10. Indeed Nobody could know how the game would pan out before kick off. If Barnard had taken his 2 chances and Antonio taken a couple of his it could of been like 4-0. But they didn't take them and the game was just petering out to a 0-0. They were never going to score. At that point Pardew could of brought on Gillett and tried to create more from midfield. The rest of the subs were defenders if i remember right other then Waigo. he made the right call in bringing him on at that point as it changed the game. If i think about it from the point of view where say Waigo started and Barnard was on the bench and the game went the same way would Barnard have changed it by coming off the bench? personally i don't think so.
  11. Just back Bit of a meh game to be honest. Stockport came for a draw and didn't really make any real threat. They had a lot of corners from nothing but if i counted right had about 3 or 4 shots the entire game, Kelvin had nothing to do. 1st half was just boring as hell, by far the worst half i have seen this season. Both sides were just passing it about and creating next to nothing. The players seemed nervey and made a lot of mistakes. I felt that Wotten and Morgan was not working, Wotten made the most mistakes and really have to say their chances came from feck up's by him. The only player who seemed to be creative was Antonio who tried to lift the players by trying to create something but it would just not happen. 2nd half seemed to start the same way and really the only way either team was going to score was by a big mistake. I think Pardew got it spot on in bring Waigo on for Barnard. No offence to barnard but he had a clear chance and wasted it, it didn't looklik it was going to be his day. Bringing Papa on changed the game and gave us the attacking option we had badly lacked. The guy was class and should of had at least 1 other goal from a 1 on 1 situation. Me and some people at the game were talking about how in previous seasons we would probably end up losing the game. It is a huge difference to see the manager actually make decisions that change it for the better. So all in all a very good win against a team who just wanted a draw imo, we struggled to create the clear chances due to some players having a severe off day. But we grinded out the result and move places up the league. I think someone said if we win our game in hand we will be something like 9 points behind the last playoff spot? We will need to play a lot better then that but i think teams like Stockport bring the worst out of us. We missed Hammond and Lallana i think. Hopefully Puncheon can add a bit more to the creative side. So a lot of positives and it is great to see our defence being so solid.
  12. My grammar has most defiantly got worse over the years. I think what oldgit says is probably right, that it is a lot to do with laziness. I think that and technology have played a huge part in its demise. Today we all seem in a rush, we text using words to save time i.e. m8, msg etc. We very rarely actually write by hand anymore so when we type on the computer it will a lot of the time auto correct the mistakes. Maybe they should create like an A.I in the computer which will have a go at you every time you get something wrong!
  13. I guess the morale of this story is to not complain about grammar
  14. Seriously how the hell does the PL let them sign players even though they will not pay them? They just got given around £2m just a few day's ago, how has that just vanished? Back when we were in the **** i had a couple of friends who worked for Saints in admin and one in marketing. They were not very rich people living just about on the line, same as most people. So if i think of the Portsmouth equivelent to them then those people must now themselves be in financial trouble due to this. If you have bills to pay and your late paying them then your going to incur charges for that. Those are the people i feel sorry for, not the people who are getting thousands of pounds per week. It is now time the PFA and PL come down hard on them as regardless of being their rival Portsmouth are now taking the ****. If they sign O Hara today even though the staff have not been paid then that is a disgrace that should and could of been avoided.
  15. Grant and Storie thinking about quiting http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/29/peter-storrie-avram-grant-portsmouth
  16. and says here they are thinking of quiting http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/29/peter-storrie-avram-grant-portsmouth I really do think we could be seeing some fireworks today Edit: They say "The club also have to pay a round of transfer instalments today, said to amount to around £2m, plus further payments are due on Sunday and next week. If any of these are missed the *Premier League will consider reapplying the player registration embargo which was only lifted earlier this week" So technically today they will have to pay about £3.5m then. Basically meaning someone has to be sold today or they are gone.
  17. I don't believe for one minute that about the HRMC blocking funds to pay wages. As far as i can tell they do not have the power to stop banks from trading normally. If you have set funds in say bank A and want to move it to bank B then how do they have legal authority to block that? Storie say's they can't transfer money while they have a winding up petition but did they not have that in place for the last 2 pay day's? Did they not have that when paying the clubs they owed? It would not be in HRMC's interests to block the transfer because by doing so makes the staff free to walk away, meaning they join clubs for nothing. Meaning no money for HRMC. Sounds like another excuse wheeled out as to why people will not be paid.
  18. If you buy the limited edition version on steam you get access to the beta which starts today.
  19. I still not got my copy yet so obviously can't decide
  20. That would be fecking funny though wouldn't it. They think they will get £10m for the two players and everything will be alright. Then they don't pay them, they walk on frees and take a nice signing on fee chunk at their new clubs and Portsmouth get nothing. Maybe it is meant to be
  21. So if they do not pay the wages by 5pm tomorrow the staff have the right to walk right? I wonder if any of these clubs interested in players are hoping that happens.
  22. It would help yes. Mainly to know the characters a little and the lore of the game. You can pick up the 1st one pretty cheap these days. Plus also if you play the 1st one you have the option of transfering over your character and level to the 2nd one.
  23. Apparently a guy at my work said he heard them say it on south today last night briefly. Plus someone in this thread mentioned it too. Maybe they are getting it mixed with 2 other creditors joined the winding up pettition? http://www.fansonline.net/portsmouth/article.php?id=1295
  24. So is it true then that they have had a 2nd winding up order placed on them?
  25. How the hell do you figure that out?! He has ignored them, why should he reply everytime the echo has a dig at him or the club? The Echo needs the special connection it has with the club not the other way around. The club do not need to give special treatment to the echo simply because it is the local paper. The readership is tiny. Murray should not act like a tit, simple as that. He is throwing his toys out the pram. Like the kid who does not get let into a club and says "im getting my dad on you, im getting my lawyer" etc etc while the doorman says nothing. Since the club has stopped talking to the echo has the attendance been effected? Has the club gone on a losing run? Has anything with the club actually changed? Nope not at all. Where as with The Echo their stories have plummeted to new low's. Having to use a charity to take a shot at the club. The Echo are obviously under huge pressure hence why they had to re-confirm their stand today. Justifying why they are targeting the club. So i think your as wrong as wrong can be. Cortese is coming out of this with the far majority of fans support. Read the comments on their website, don't see too many people agreeing with them, quite the opposite. The Echo need to realise they are not a national paper, they hold no power. If they want to try a national style hate campaign then what do they expect? Fair play to NC for not saying anything at all, i bet that must really **** them off.
