  1. I disagree to be honest. It was a very professional display by our back 4. Anytime they got near our box they got ganged up on and retreated out of there. I saw some seriously commited defending by our lads and i'm sure they will have the scars to proove it. When we lost Morgan we had i think 5 players on yellows, they could not fly in making tackles because this ref will send you off for nothing. The last 10 mins had them have 2 shots, 1 which Davis saved and 1 which hit the post. That was all they did for the entire 90mins. We on the other hand had plenty of shots (12 shots to their 2 apparently) which drew some great saves from their keeper, James had a great shot saved near the end. They were not peppering our goal, it was under control. When we had 11 players out there we dominated. We played cute football with 1 touch football or sweet cross field passes. Antonio did a pass to lambert which was outstanding, 9 times out of 10 if that happen's Lambert will bust the net. Mk Dons are a team battling for the Playoffs, they along with teams like Huddersfield are the ones who need to improve. Because even with 10 men playing away we were quite comfortable. They hit the post, we hit the bar, those things cancel themselves out right? Even with 10 men we still had 55% possesion. If i was one of the playoff team managers i would be more concerned about Southampton then MK Dons based on that peformance. I would have also learned that hoofing the ball into our box will get you nowhere.
  2. Sorry but the problem was not the players it was the ref. He was inconsistant with what he was doing. He had 1 rules for us and 1 rule for them. He contributed to the situation. For example the bust up. Morgan was taken out from behind very late. Taking out people from behind is supposed to be an auto-matic red card. It can end careers. The reaction by James was spot on. You don't take someone out and then act as if he dived or something, what a ****. The ref looked about a yard away from it. He did nothing. James got booked for saying how **** a decision that was and Davis got booked for trying to calm it down. What is worse, the guy almost having his career ended or the guy saying calm down? The same goes for Morgans sending off. It looked like from where i was that little **** Gleeson had his hands around Morgans throat and Morgan pushed him to get him off. How the fook can you give 1 a yellow and the other a red? That is like saying if someone has you in a choke hold you should just let them choke you out because if you try and break out of the hold that is far worse! It was a disgrace.
  3. Just got back Obviously it was on tv so you probably saw better then i did! But great performance from the lads. Really attacking pressing football which was a delight to see. Antonio was everywhere and was i felt our joint best player on the pitch. The other was Fonte who i thought was imense. Was the first time i have seen him play and he will be a great signing for us. A pity he will be cup tied for saturday. First time i ever been to their stadium, think even the 1st time i been in Milton Keynes. Boy what a **** hole!! We played like the home team and sounded like the home team. Out support was superb. Speaking to a steward i asked him if their lot were always that quiet and he said pretty much. Told me to tell our lot to not be so loud when we next visit! The ref was a total muppet. We had some silly yellow card which could of been avoided but there was no consistency at all. Morgan got two footed from behind and nothing happen's. James goes in to say back off = yellow card, Davis runs in to say back off = yellow card. Holmes slightly kicks the ball away = yellow card. Their guy punts it behind the goal = no yellow card. Fonte get's elbowed in the head = free kick to MK Dons. Lambert get's elbowed in the head = free kick to MK Dons. Thomas get's punted in the gut late = free kick and a talking to for taking too long to get up....Their player hand balls it in the penalty box windmill style = no penalty. Gleesen goes up and grabs Morgan by the throat = yellow card, Morgan pushes him off him = red card. The decisions tonight were fecking disgraceful. The standard of refereeing in division three has been well and truely **** but this guy takes the winners medal. So well done lads, great display, dominated from the start. The ref had to help them every chance he could to make it more of a contest. Our fans were superb and hopefully now we can finish the job at home. Hopefully the mongs of last week have vanished for a day or two
  4. First one is one of the best games of all time. Loved it. Will be interesting to see how the 2nd one does. BioWare are my fav game makers for sure.
  5. The only chance they have now is to go into VA and hope someone does what the guy did at Acrington Stanley. Pay 25% of the debt and become a gurantor to paying a % of the rest back over the following years. Going into admin would make the HRMC be just another creditor since they no longer have prefered creditor status. Taking a 9 point hit but coming out with a club in the CCC surely has to be better then keeping your head in the sand and going into liquidation once the HRMC are done with them at the case? The HRMC have a long history of ******* up clubs, look what they did this season to the ex southern premier champs Kings Lynn. They also had like a 6k stadium. Gone. There are too many bullets for them to dodge now. They have a week to pay wages right?
  6. Expect Tony Ly oops sorry, i mean Mark Jacobs to come out with "It was our idea to sue Portsmouth for the money owed to Sol. We went to him and said that going to court would gurantee he get's paid. But we feel Sol is holding £1m he owes to us for playing for us and having spoken to Sol's lawyers are very confident that they are in agreement we will win the case. The court case is just a process we have to go through, to sign a few forms and then collect the monies Sol owes us. And in regards to that flying pig out the window, yes that is the potential new owner"
  7. Nah. The court case is being brought by the HRMC. They are doing so because they are owed money. They think because they have not been paid and obviously won't be paid that the company needs to be wound up. Technically saying it is insolvent. If Portsmouth pay the HRMC what is owed before the court date then there is obviously no need for a case seeing as the HRMC will have been paid thus showing the club are meeting their legal requirements. Meaning the case brought against them would be dropped. If the tax bill is paid there will be no case. If they continue to not pay, the case will go ahead. Just like i said.
  8. Going back to what nick said earlier about the fans, you have to agree. The far majority of them don't deserve the storm that is coming. BUT Even with their head in the jaws of the angry Lion they deny there is a Lion at all. Basically that is what they are saying. I just cannot see at all a Judge saying "Sorry they have xyz evidence on you which makes me think we should go ahead with the case. But i am confident you will win!!" I just can't see that happening as much as they try and make out that it did. Portsmouth FC now have nobody but to blame but Jacobs, Storrie and the Faraj brothers. They have tried at every turn to avoid responsibility and tried to run damage control by basically lying to the fans,PL and the media, and now by the looks of it to the law too. Portsmouth will not recover with these people in control. Sooner they go into admin sooner they are rid of them.
  9. I don't think this Jacobs guy quite understands the seriousness of it all. He might be able to blag time from the PL with empty promises and have a club or two write on a piece of paper that they will not ask for payment until xyz. But to try that with the government and the law of the country was never going to work. So they now HAVE to pay £7.5m to the taxman by February the 10th and the case will be dropped. If they don't they will have to go to court and argue their case. That means every single penny that came into the club or went out of the club will be looked over with a magnifying glass. If some of the people connected to the club are on individual charges it does not take a genius to work out that it is very likely they have got something on them. They were not going to go "oh yeah your right, our bad, we were a few million out". Portsmouth owe £3m to other clubs and have to pay the wages again in a couple of weeks. Meaning they need to find a total of £12m in the next 22 days just to be doing what they are doing now. If they can't sell any players or reduce the bill by loads then the only hope they have is someone putting that money in from their own pocket. With this announcement i think no bank will loan them any money as they realise they have no financial manouvability left. If they lend anything and the tax bill is uphold they will have lost it instantly. I think it is safe to say they are now about 99.9% likely to go into admin by this time next month unless someone puts the money in themselves.
  10. Also i think there are only 3 other league one teams still in the fa cup. But feck it that is not good enough, we should be winning it as we spent a couple of million on players. If we don't qualify for europe next season we should sack the board!
  11. I have not put words in your mouth. You answered with those players and i asked a question saying "so you expect those players to finish 11 points above Leeds?" Because you said we should be 1st. So by that logic who should we be getting in then to replace Pardew, Fergie? Mourinhio? Maybe we should go for those Madrid players Ronaldo and Kaka? So how would you get the team playing any better then Glasgow? What would you change? You say we have the players to do it although i don't think half of those you listed are good enough to get a team with -10 to the playoffs.
  12. So your saying Pardew has not got the best out of the players he has signed? Meaning you think change manager = 1st? Or better yet. When we kicked the 1st ball this year your expectation was for Saints to finish 11 points above Leeds right?
  13. ...... Ok so what would you do then Glasgow? I mean we hear your *****ing and crying 24/7 but you offer no alternative. It is easy to criticise so let's hear your plan on how we can make a team with the current 5th best form in the league who would be about 4th-5th without the points deduction into a team that sits 1st. Because we don't want to be 2nd best right? This should be good
  14. No my point was that if you look at it prior to the takeover and before Pardew came in our club was just a shell. We had an awful squad, and the better players of that squad had gone. With just a few weeks before kick off i doubt very much many people thought we would be getting promoted this year. We got a takeover and a manager with about a week before season started. We added the new players after the season had started. If you remove Lambert,Connolly and Waigo we really will have struggled for goals. If say the other groups got in would they have got the players in that we have now? I doubt it. The teams who are doing well in this league this year have prepered for it. Charlton last year when Pardew left lost more games under the new guy because they knew they were fooked. They brought people in planning for the following season months before the previous had even finished. Norwich are very similar except for one thing, the manager. But how many players have they brought in this year? 15 players! 50% of those are undisclosed fees so i have no doubt they rival our spending this year. Especially considering just signing Holt cost them £500k or so alone. And Leeds, well we all know about Leeds. In the past 18 months they have brought in a total of 15 players. They have been in this league now for i think 4 years right? They took time to sort the team out and now they have a very good team. A bunch of lads who all want to go on to do well in their careers, a excellent team spirit. If people think we will have all that in the space of 4 months then as i said before they are smoking too much drugs. None of those teams have instant success, they all put planning into it. Something we could not even start until the season had started. And SaintWarick indeed we sold lots of players under Burley. But in the playoff year we gave Burley something like £8m to buy Rasiak,Pele,BWP,Davis,Skacel,Viafara,Licka,Idiakez etc etc Add to that the players we already had i.e Bale,Baird,Jones,Surman etc meant we had a very expensive squad. The only players to leave that season were Higgenbottom,Fuller and Prutton on loan. Meaning for that season when we spent more then we have ever spent. Some people sound like they are trying to compare that season and the amount of spending with what is happening now when it is not even close. We had a dire squad, the worst in our history and most of them are still here. We have bought some players i.e Lambert and Hammond who were here to sure up the team, not get us promoted. For us to get promoted we still need a couple of proven players like Fonte,Lambert,Hammond,Connolly,Harding etc.. we have elements of a good team with elements of a very bad team. Once those under the very bad team banner have gone we will be a good team who will have the potential to win this league. We are not there yet. Point being money does not = success, the right players do. And we still need a few of them. While at the sametime dumping a lot of our own.
  15. To add to this i think if we had been taken over by any of the other groups we would still be battling relegation. Because we probably wouldn't have had the funds to bring in the players we have. We have spent around £2.5m on players this year. We have sold about £3m. £2.5m in the grand scheme of things is not a lot of money. Especially when you compare it to Burley spending £12m and we barely making it into the playoffs.
  16. Good move in my opinion. But it could be a ducking move to avoid Maidana who would probably kill Amir. The boy has something like 26 fights 25 knockouts. So is understandable. The good news is means chances are Hatton might fight him now what with that **** head Warren having nothing to do with it now. That would be an epic british fight
  17. You would think of all the clubs fans we would be the most used to not winning! Reading this thread and the others would make you think it happen's every week! And this was not even a loss!
  18. As i said in my post the other day. The PL would now be taking a hard line aproach against the club. They realise they are going to go into admin anyway and the £2m they are with holding is most likely needed to pay the wages this month. If the PL gave them the money they would just be in the same situation next month if they could not shift some players. What is the point of lifting the embargo and signing players if those players would not be paid? The PL as Scudamore mentions have to represent english football and by allowing that to happen would be very wrong. If Portsmouth have the finances under control as they claim to have then they should provide evidence of it. When we get a loan, or get credit or whatever we have to provide evidence of our financial situation. They are not immune to that. It seems to me they think they should be able to get the money and the embargo lifted because they "promise" by word things are better now. If people did business that way there would be a lot of rich conmen out there! Portsmouth suing the PL is the end of their help, they have shot themselves in the foot by behaving like that. They have nobody to blame but themselves so trying to shift responsibility is not going to help. We were in the same situation, the previous board blaming the board before them. A line needs to be drawn and everything below the line needs to be forgotten. They are scrapping the barrel for every penny they can get. The Faraj brothers have no money and they should not have bought the club without any. All that is happening is these arabs are finding out just how much money you have to have to own a football club in england. Unless you really are rich you got no chance.
  19. The team we had prior to kicking off the season was the worst in the clubs history. A team that had taken us to division three. Add to that even the best players of the **** team had left. Obviously players were going to come in but nobody expected the signings to do as well as they had. Most of them had probably never even been seen playing before they joined us. Not until you see them play can you make any judgement on where we could end up. Without those players coming in and doing as well as they have we would not be anywhere near where we are now. I have no doubt at all if that team on the 1st day were still playing we would still be in the bottom 4.
  20. Anyone who thought we would be playoff material 5mins before our 1st game of the season in august had smoked way to many drugs. We are a totally different team now. Take away Lambert,Waigo and Connolly's goals and we would be battling relegation. Assume none of those players joined us and we continued the season with the team we had in the 1st game, who was going to score us the goals to get us up the table, Pulis? Molyneux?
  21. It is 2 points dropped. The players went to sleep and that old saying of your most vunerable after scoring came true once again. But most of those complaining are saying Pardew cost us, didn't bring the right people on etc.. they can't have it both way's. Either the players were to blame for not defending after the re-kick off resulting in their goal, or Pardew was to blame for not bringing on xyz. It was the players fault, but they were fortunate to be in that position in the first place. As i said in my 1st post what cost us today was certain players not performing. It sounded like Morgan did feck all. Pretty difficult to score if your playmaker doesn't set anything up. Which is why i think we badly need cover for Morgan, someone who is proven and can come on for him.
  22. If we played great, were 4 nil up and all of a sudden through away those 4 goals to draw i would be ****ed off. But we didn't play great, we wern't 4 nil up, it was a battle of a game and if you said 10mins from the end would you take a draw now i would gladly take it. It is unfortunate to not win the game, 9 times out of 10 if that happened they would not equalize. But a draw away to one of the form teams who have lost just once is not a bad result. If we played ****, lost 4-0 then i could understand some of the views, but that didn't happen.
  23. If the goals were the other way around (they scored and then we scored with the last kick of the game) would those few people angry still be angry? Because the result would be the same.
  24. How did he cost us? It is a case of what if's. If he changed the team by putting David up front who was he going to take off? Would we have then had to go 4-3-3 as lallana was up front with Lambert? Considering they were dominating midfield was it really a wise decision to give them even more space in midfield by reducing our numbers there? Should we have taken James off and put Waigo up front with Lallana coming into the centre? Would Lallana have battled as well and controlled the midfield any better from there? As i said it is a case of what If's. I was not there but speaking to my friend who was say's soon as Hammond went off that screwed our whole midfield up. If Antonio had put 1 of his three chances away or the defence held out how would people have been talking now? Would you be saying Pardew got it right because we won? etc etc People are overreacting and as far as i can tell the whole defence is "we would of won if Pardew changed xyz", when there is no gurantee at all that would of happened. He put Antonio on and the boy should of scored. 1 defensive lapse meant we drew, that is not Pardew's fault.
