  1. damn it got Pizza the Hutt from Spaceballs 1st time
  2. I ordered it from Game, mainly because they get the game out a day early sometimes Here is a cool video if you have played MW2 too much How to not be a noob http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsJwrHIGGnk&feature=player_embedded
  3. If he was confident the club was about to be taken over would he come out and bash people or wait until it is done then basque in the glory? He is obviously feeling the pressure, nobody is believing his words anymore, the media are having a field day with him. So for trying to make it out he has done a good job he deserves
  4. Again you have to know the answers I did Pardew and got All it takes is you getting 1 question wrong i.e age or something and it wont get it, because the info your giving it is wrong.
  5. If they go into admin and they can't find a buyer by the 31 days of being in admin they go into liquidation. Admin is a legal term to help a company, sort of like a band aid. But it is not a cure for it. They will have to negotiate with all those owed money and realisticly come up with a package that means someone will want to buy it. If we take out Gaydamarks debt and the current owners debt and assume they owe about £30m then obviously those owed that will not be getting all of it. They will have to accept that loss. 9 times out of 10 they do because something is better then nothing. But something will have to be paid, and if it isnt then the club will still cease to exist. But they will have an admin team put in place by the court who's job is to help the company return to running within its own means or getting a new owner. I think most people will feel more confident of them surviving under an admin team rather then Storrie.
  6. As far as i understand they have two ways of going into admin. Either the judge places them in admin, or a creditor applies to put them in admin. They themselves can no longer do that. The HMRC i think its pretty clear want them wound up. But others who are owed money could ask for them to be put in admin as they then might get some money back that way. Local businesses will not want them to get liquidated so admin would be preferable to them too.
  7. I think half of the problem is the people running the club have not been honest about its situation. So because of that they have the billy cried wolf image. When they do tell the truth nobody believes them. The Fahim bailing thing in my opinion is a good indicator of how things are about to go. If you had 10% in a club and that club was about to be taken over by a supposed wealthy group, stopping the court action and saving your bacon, would you bail? Or try and sell that 10% to the new owner? I would guess he has heard something and realised nothing is going to change, so if he bails he tries to escape responsibility and will try to save his ass from any criminal investigations when/if the club do go under. He can claim he knew nothing etc.. It would not surprise me one bit to see them go into admin today. The signs have been there a longtime. They have only 4 working days until the court case. Very difficult to get something that takes months done in 4 days. At least done properly!
  8. So who bets we will hear Storries catchphrase today "it will be done in the next 48hrs"?
  9. It has got to be a character mate
  10. I would not be surprised to see the current owner sell the club to anyone for about a £1. He probably realises the club is screwed so going for the land itself means the club does not own that as an asset. So when they go into admin he doesnt lose as much, as he could loan it to them, if they go bust could build there etc.. If i had to take a business guess i would assume whoever comes in will most likely have no money themselves and will just try and do what the others have done and try and re-package the debt by re-finance. If the last 3 guys in charge could not do that then i very much doubt a guy from a small company in Hong Kong is going to. Would not surprise me one bit to see the takeover completed on monday and Storrie then resigns claiming he got them the takeover, was not his fault a week later they were shut down etc.. If the club really are £60m-£70m in debt (which they obviously are) then you have to think how will they make that money back? They will be in the CCC next year and the money earnt there is a tiny fraction compared to the PL. They will go into that league with a very thin squad that will be made thiner by contract expiry's and loans ending. If they have no money they will not be able to sign people so will have to do what we did and get people in on frees. And you see what happens when you do that! Point being if you ignore the debt the actual immediate potential of the club is not good. Chances are they could be in another relegation battle next year. Which means the only way things will change is if someone comes in pays the bills and then spends on strengthening the team to try and get back to the PL. This will take huge instant investment and you have to think well why would someone do that? If someone is rich enough to have that kind of money did they make it by making decisions like that? I doubt it. So i just think it will be another guy in control but will ultimatly not change a thing. A week tomorrow is the only certainty Pompey have and if they go into that case in the financial situation they currently are then you have to fear for their lives. 99% of companies in that situation would get shut down. And that is how the judge will see them, as a company.
  11. What makes me laugh is BBC radios coverage of Pompey. I think it was that Orford guy who said they were on form now and were showing signs of getting out of the drop zone under Avram Grant. This is the biggest myth of them all. Of the last 8 games and 24 points on offer they have managed to collect a massive....2 points, they are still last in the form guide. Scoring 4 and letting in a massive 18. How the fook do they get they are in form from that record?! I think half the problem is guys like that don't want to tell it like it really is because they naturally want people to feel hope. But they are dead and burried. Grant has won i think 3 games of his 14 league games in charge. The last being on 19th dec against liverpool, almost three months ago. You can't go that length of time without a win and expect to survive. They are down and should now be starting to think about life in the CCC rather then trying to do deals based on if they stay in the PL.
  12. Exactly. We have now played 5 league games this year of which 4 were away and we got points in all of them. In total this year we have played 10 games and we have won 6 of them, drew 3 of them and of course lost 1. Most teams would kill for that kind of form.
  13. We just won away at the league leaders place after playing them off the park. A team who have lost only once there all season, almost 6 months ago, won 12 of their last 12 there. We ourselves are undefeated in the league this year, almost three months of matches etc etc. But yet some are still looking for reasons to have a good old moan.... As for the whole "better league results" thing...In 2010 we have played 5 league games. 4 away and 1 at home. we have won our home game and got points from each of the other fixtures including wins. They are good results, deal with it and move on.
  14. I did Lady Gaga and put one of the questions as being a man and it got it haha
  15. Interesting http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/20/portsmouth-high-court They claim Pompey have to pay £22m to finish the season and will be proved they are insolvent.
  16. I did Rickie Lambert too and he/it actually got him right I think a lot depends on the questions he asks and if we know the answers or not
  17. http://uk.akinator.com/# Basically think of anyone, and answer the questions on screen and it will guess who you were thinking about. I thought of MLT and it got it!
  18. Have not really posted on the main board for sometime as have a lot of others due to this. We all know these people and we all know they will never change. Some will offer good alternative views. Questions that are actually worth asking. But ultimatly they are negative, and will look for the negative in everything. Some will be happy we got to Wembley, they will criticise for not doing so well in the league etc.. it is the failure to grasp the whole picture which i think in our recent history you really have to do. Outside of this forum i have yet to meet a single person who is unhappy with the way this season has gone. Some wish we could get to the playoffs but realise that was always a tough ask for a club in our position. Without the -10 things would look very different. We would have 2 games in hand on the teams above us and have a good chance of going up. But they simply choose to ignore those things rather concentrating on again the negative side. Because that is what they enjoy to do. On good old Saints Forever constant whining or trolling was dealt with bans and suspensions. It does not seem to have been discouraged here and that is why each thread goes the same way. You can start a thread about how happy you are about something and within a matter of minutes it will have turned into another negative thread. Sure there are always going to be two sides to every story. 1 might see things different to another. It is the way you present your opinion that determines wether what you say is valid and a good point, or if it is just to cause reaction amongst the boards readers ala trolling style. Plus it is the fact that a lot of these whiners are totally one sided with their views which give them away. When something goes well they will ignore that thread. Anything that is not quite clear cut and they will come out with an opinion, and 9 times out of 10 we all know what side of the fence that opinion will come down on
  19. Also have to remember going into admin means certain relegation. Which makes them even less attractive for a proper takeover. They will go into the CCC with the exact same problems. The difference being this would of been dealt with long ago by the FL. Their heavy handed punishments are what tries to keep clubs from going too far into debt. In the PL it now seems they are not doing that, which is wrong. At least Storrie has admitted that their only chance to survive is to sell players. Which concludes there are no people about to buy the club.
  20. I think what David Gold said in that report " if this measure is being considered simply as a means of helping Portsmouth to avoid administration then I wouldn't support it at all. I don't have sympathy for a badly run club that faces administration. We're in a league that operates on survival of the fittest. Nobody offered to help Crystal Palace recently or so many others over the years in this way to stay out of administration" Which is spot on. They are trying to avoid going into admin because each of them will lose everything. The owner loses his money, Storrie loses his high paid job and having that on your CV is not going to be good. We went into admin and took it like men. Lowe tried to get the whole -10 thing removed by saying the two companies were seperate but 99% of people knew it was ******** and knew we deserved it. You had a few saying he had done right but deep down i bet even that 1% knew we should be punished. It is the total opposite with Pompey and from what i have read their fans don't think they deserve it either. Me personally i would love to see Fifa grant Pompey this rule because the fallout from it will be very exciting to watch. Our leagues have needed something to curb the stupid level of money we have seen in both player wages and signing fees all the way to ticket prices. Maybe this will send the game back into the land of reality?
  21. Think about it If the club were "about to be takenover" why would they be asking the PL to let them sell players now or give them money now they would be owed in a year or so? If they had someone "imminently" about to buy the club then why would they need to do that? Either 1. The new owner/consortium is just a group of people/person with no money and that will change nothing, again. or 2. There are no potential new owners and they are nowhere near being taken over because nobody is interested. For months and months now they have been rumoured to be taken over, look at the name of this thread! In all that time they have had 2 groups takeover and they each in turn made the club worse and a far less prospect for a buyer. The media are effectively making stuff up. Couple of weeks ago it was Gadafi's son, the following week it was some Prince from Saudi and now this week it is some South African group. Who will it be next week the brady bunch?
  22. I loved that bit about Mick Channon "he is one of ours" When Mick goes to watch football he normally goes to St Marys. That was classic
  23. I think what happens is the judge has the SOA for two days. They can then make a judgement based on that paper before the court date. They could place the company into admin or start a criminal case if proved they have traded when insolvent. The court case would then be to just hear the official verdict of what happened prior to that. Like other clubs have struck deals and the case has lasted like a few seconds just for the judge to say "case dismissed" or something like that. Maybe someone who has been paying more attention to the whole thing can answer it better
  24. As i said before, they might as well create a new rule for them saying they are immune to all rules. What is next, they get the premier league money they would be owed in 3 years time when they would of got re-promoted to the PL? It also makes you wonder about these supposed takeover rumours. If they have asked to get an advance on tv money, parachute money and now asking to sell players outside the transfer window is pretty conclusive evidence that they don't have a takeover lined up. And have now most likely realised what everyone else realised months ago, they are fooked.
