  1. Mo looking world class....
  2. Excellent win and happy to see Ings doing so well! McCarthy was a total beast.
  3. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/next-manager-to-leave-post Fav to go next now. Personally as others have said I don't think the blame can fully be put at his feet. He is only blameable for what happens on the pitch. And let's be honest his tactics/team selections/subs are all questionable right now. The blame lies at the feet of Les and Ralph. They continue to make mistakes and don't seem to learn from them. All the selling and buying crap replacements has caught up with us. I still don't understand why we paid a **** load of money for a reserve goal keeper when we already had two on the books and one on huge wages was unlikely to be going anywhere. Should have put that money elsewhere.
  4. There was talk over here awhile ago of Udinese, Torino and Bologna interested in Gabbi. Would not be surprised to see him go now if I am honest. In pre-season he seemed one of our best players and has not had a lookin. Austin has been gash but Hughes prefers him for whatever reasons. I can't imagine Gabbi will be happy to not have even made it to the bench. Having Davis and JWP as subs is just stupid.
  5. Everything just looked wrong imo. Poor team selection, poor tactics, poor passing, dreadful tackling where we were lucky not to have players sent off. Poor finishing and a non existent midfield. Second half was an improvement until we scored. After that the subs/tactical changes killed our momentum. I fail to see what Hughes was trying to do for this game. He talked about us coming in with confidence after getting a point at home to Burnley. I didn't see that. I saw a seriously ill disciplined un-professional display where nobody was willing to take charge and show some leadership. The defence was all over the place except for Cedric. We move onto the next one but no doubt we will get the excuses in ie Everton spent loads of money blah blah. Was just a really awful performance from us. We don't seem to have learned anything from the past two seasons.
  6. Good corner and good finish! Come on Saints keep this up and we can get something!
  7. Very poor performance both tactically and mentally. They are 1st to every ball and look like they want it more. Stupid tackles going in. My main concern is we don't seem to be communicating with each other. There isn't any leadership. The defence don't know what they are being asked to do. Hughes needs to put a rocket up their ass.
  8. Awful first half, decent second half. That ultra defence starting line up should never happen again.
  9. Awful start, thankfully the decisions are going our way. Should be at least 0-2 by now. Lemina, Armstrong and Romeu have been garbage so far. Can't keep hold of the ball at all. Come on Saints, its Burnley at home ffs.
  10. I will be honest. I totally forgot about it! So going to check on his stats you are right he had a decent season. 11 goals in the PL is very good going. Especially in a team like Burnley. The problem is that was over three years ago. He has played a grand total of 14 PL games since then. Like I said I don't mean to be harsh on the guy as it isn't his fault. But seriously does it not **** you off that after being told how great our scouting is, how we watch so many players, that the best we could do was spend £20m on a guy who has scored 14 PL goals in his entire career? Who has been injured for the best part of the last three years? Come on. It is a stupid transfer and shows how far away we are from what the club used to be. I hope he will prove me wrong, he has the ability to do it. The issue is he doesn't have the physical strength to do it. If it was me in charge I would have put that money into an attacking central midfielder and given one of our kids a chance. Not gamble it on someone who was good 4 years ago but since then has done nothing.
  11. Wow what a stupid decision. No offence to the guy, he did well in the championship back in 2013. Was prolific if I remember rightly. But since then he can't have played much. Obviously not his fault but if he is constantly injured I don't see the benefit of this deal. Why not give one of our own a go? Just makes the Jay sale seem even more baffling. Welcome and all that and hope you re-find your touch. Just can't see him staying fit.
  12. Having so many defence minded players on the pitch is madness. It simply has not worked hence almost going down. I'd go for Mccarthy Cedric ---Hoedt---Vester---Bertrand ----------------Romeu--------------- ---------Lemina---------------------- ----------------------Armstrong----- Elyounoussi----------------------Long ---------------Austin----------------- Basically the same system Koeman played. Romeu to cover the CB when the two full backs push forwards. Lemina and Armstrong to get the ball to the front three.
  13. Already spent it on a reserve at Celtic who plays for Scotland now and then. Either way good luck to Dusan. Did very well for us and will get some more European football before he retires.
  14. Mosin I think you have the wrong stats. These are the official opta stats per individuals average for 90 mins of play for the 17/18 PL season. I can't be arsed to type them all out so have selected a few. Passing stats Total passes per 90 mins Tadic: 35.5 JWP: 39.2 Successful long ball passes Tadic: 1.1 JWP: 0.9 Unsuccessful Longball passes Tadic: 1.2 JWP: 1.8 Key short passes Tadic: 1.5 JWP: 1.1 Successful dribbles per game Tadic: 1.8 JWP: 0.3 Defensive Shots blocked both 0.1 Interceptions Tadic: 0.6 JWP: 0.4 Tackles Attempted tackles Tadic: 2.2 JWP: 2.5 Successful tackles Tadic: 1.5 JWP: 1.2 Dribbled past Tadic: 0.8 JWP: 1.3 Header battles won Tadic: 0.3 JWP: 1.1 Header battles lost Tadic: 1.3 JWP: 2.6 There are hundreds of them and would be here all day posting them. They are all per 90 mins each player has played and only in the PL.

    JWP Progress

I am not a fan of JWP so not a truther. He seems a nice enough person but I think in a way his time is up and its time to give one of the other youngsters a chance. Tella and Slattery come to mind. As people have alluded above the problem with JWP is he isn't a master of a position. There are far better defence minded players and far better attacking minded players. He is 24 in 5 months so he isn't exactly an un-experienced youngster anymore. But the point I was making with the stat was for someone with nearly 200 pl games he hasn't really done anything. A good game here or there. But I think we all know he will never be a nailed on starter here. As I said I think its time to start giving the other youngsters a chance.

    Vicenza

To be honest I am sure they just want a stable club. They have been through such a **** time over the last few years. People getting done for inflating profits, not paying wages etc. Sadly they are a fine example of why there needs to be far tougher rules in place for potential owners. So Gao would walk in there no problems at all.

    JWP Progress

Interesting stat. JWP has played more PL games than Harry Kane.
  18. Don't care if we know the truth or whatever. Has he got manager appointments right over last 2 seasons? No. Has he got the recruitment right over last 2 seasons? No. Is the academy still doing well? No. Did we need to spend £20m on a back up striker? No. Regardless of what he did in the past his last 24 months have been a disaster. Time to go.
  19. So basically the same **** we have heard from him over the past 2 years and still not answering any questions. Especially about Gao. Maybe it is just me but I found it really infuriating when asked about Gao's plans he went off on one about him having a right to a private life. Everyone has a right to a private life, we don't want to know what cereals he eat for breakfast or what time he normally takes a ****. We want to know his business plans for the club. He mentions he is a successful business man countless times but yet can't answer any actual business questions. All I took from these interviews was once again RK dodging questions by giving out planned PR answers that hold zero substance. We are no closer to knowing what our owners true plans are. All we learnt is that RK and LR are accountable only to themselves and are free to continue to make whatever mistakes they wish without any consequence.
  20. Flew in for this game (under the disguise of seeing family). The last 2 games I went to at Swansea we won 0-1 so hoping for a repeat. COYR
  21. Of course they had something to play for. They could have got into Europe. They were only a few points behind Burnley at the 30 game mark. If they chucked in the towel at that point then it shows he is a **** manager if he can't motivate his players to want to get into Europe. It's not like they even had tough games. Newcastle, Bompey, us, Palace and of course Burnley. They got 2 points from those 15. You do talk some rubbish sometimes mate.
  22. Pretty sure they didn't give him £80m to spend in the hope they stay up. If they wanted that they would have kept Shakespeare on. Who by the way has a better record than Puel there. He is going to be sacked for sure.
  23. Forza DUSAAAAAAN!!
  24. Couldn't disagree more. Hughes is not to blame for where our club is. None of it is his fault. But his job, the one he is probably getting paid a vast amount of money for is to keep Saints in the PL. To stay in the PL you need points correct? Not 'point'. Meaning we need to win games. You will not win many if any games with the tactics and team selection he put out today. I am sure most people would be understanding if we went for it and lost. But setting up the way we did the message was clearly don't lose rather than win. Which is the same as we had before. Who knows if having another person up front would of made a difference but having people further up the pitch would have helped us to get forward. Our tactic was punt it up to Long and hope he can do something. That isn't going to win you anything...
  25. That right there is why I didn't think Hughes was the right fit for us. Why oh ****ing why did he adopt the same negative tactics and team selections that the previous muppet got sacked for? We needed to win that game. We needed to go forwards and test their reserve keeper. Whenever they had a corner or throw in we defended on mass. Everyone was in the box. How are you going to score if all your players are told to stay in your own box? And when we didn't have the ball everyone was again defending on mass. No risks and no rewards.
