  1. No i make threads that are news worthy. The fact that a western product can beat a Japanese product on home soil is amazing, it as far as im aware has never happened before. So you might look at that thread thinking "fanboy" while those who actually have any knowledge of modern buisness will be thinking "wow". The 360 has a lot of faults, literally! And i say positive stuff about the PS3 all the time. If you see the threads i myself have made have actually been neutral threads. I dont criticise the Wii or the 360 that much because they have had their days of being slagged off, how many times can you start a thread saying "dont get a 360 because it will break?" That is like 3 years ago... The PS3 is living off of the PlayStation legacy. The PS2 alone sold over 120m consoles in under 8 years. It is the benchmark for everything to come. The fact is statisticly but more importantly factually the PS3 is not doing well. So if i said it was or tried to defend it then that would mean i would be a PS3 fanboy which im clearly not. So you try and defend it which as i said is natural for someone who has spent a lot of money on it, thus while you label me a 360 fanboy must in-turn make you a PS3 fanboy.
  2. Yes it is....look at the green line you see it is just under the 5m number?
  3. The graph shows you how well the consoles are doing with their old consoles combined. I.e this time last Gen PS2 sold almost 20m more units then what the PS3 has sold. The 360 has sold about 5m more then what the xbox1 sold and well the Wii has sold 25m more then the Gamecube which means the Wii is this gens PS2, the 360 is this gens xbox and the PS3 is this gens gamecube.. If you go over to vgc the analyst has done a nice report for buisness (which i stole the graph from) which shows you the PS3 projection is in line with that graph. And yes they are worldwide figures. The figures i show and have always showed are pretty much fact. EDIT: Here is the graph i mentioned If you look at the Green and Red bits you see the numbers that the 360 and PS3 have contributed to the total number of sales for this generation. So if you look at the last bar under the 100 week number you see the PS3 has sold 17m and the 360 has sold almost 26m units. But the key part here is if you look at the 360 green bit you see it has consistently grown above the PS3 especially in the last 10 weeks. Thus meaning the gap is increasing rapidly. So projection wise for 150 weeks this will be the graph Now the PS3 part has not been filled in simply because it is the youngest of the consoles. However if you look at the 360 you can see that in its 150th week it had put on another 5m consoles. The Wii well the Wii is just a selling machine. So if you look at that graph the PS3 NEEDS to sell next year at minimum 10m units just to get back to level par. Which is not going to happen. That line will continue to fall and fall. It is following the exact same pattern as the Dreamcast and the Gamecube. So if i had to advise someone who had shares in Sony what to do i would tell them to bail now, seeing as they have fallen over 14% and made a loss of $415m in the past 3 months alone does not make good reading.
  4. Voted Benali. Might not be the most technically gifted defender we have had, hell he used to get sent off like once every 5 games or something! But he was Saints through and through and every tackle he put his all into. Sure a lot of em where fouls but his passion was second to none! For me that is what this club is about!
  5. Haha well the problem is i own all three of the consoles so i think im in a un-biased position to comment on them. They all have their pluses and all have their minus'. People naturally want to defend what they have paid for so it is easier just to slag me off etc.. The truth is that i have said for the best part of 2 years that the PS3 is a console in trouble and not worth the amount paid on it, but because of that i come across as a 360 fanboy when really im just giving buisness advice. The ironic thing is that the PS3 has been on sale now for 100 weeks and this is its graph compared to the other 2 consoles As you can see that is a nasty down curve for Sony. This is what i tried to explain to people but again it comes across like im a fanboy when im just giving the facts. At the end of the day i couldn't care less as i like all three of the consoles for very different reasons. I use my PS3 for watching films, my 360 for games and my Wii for when we have friends over. At heart i am a hardcore gamer, games like Gears of War will apeal more to me then say Cooking Mama. Right now the PS3 is losing 100k units a week over the 360. Games wise the 360 is shiffting almost 5 games to every 1 PS3 game, there are reasons why it is doing those numbers. But if you say why your be called a fanboy!
  6. it was a 4-4-2 variant of having 1 striker slightly behind the other. The previous formation is a variant of 4-5-1 were the stiker is totally on his own and the extra midfielder drops to cover the line thus making it a negative tactic.
  7. 100% Agree Today was a superb game where we bossed one of the supposed fav teams to go up from kick off to final whistle. We earned that win and played the best football i have seen all season. We played positive and 4-4-2 and it made all the difference. Most of us had been saying play that way all year. The lads done well and fully deserve the praise they have got from this game. It was an awesome game to watch. BUT While this is a valuable 3 points i hope that Jan has learnt a lesson here. If we change things for tues and revert back to negative 4-5-1 style tactics and lose then this will count for nothing. For us to get out of the struggle we are in we need to find some consistency especially at home. Teams around us have all started to win now as well which makes it even more vital we go on from here, believe in our own ability and push on. We can do it!
  8. I'll comment on it seeing as my prediction of 7 points was right. Winning this game prooves we can play 4-4-2. We played fantastic football, the best ive seen this season. But this doesnt change our situation at all. The next game will be an indicator if were a 1 win in 9 team or a team who can start to be persistant and grind out some results team. I hope we push on from this result i really do but for that to happen we have to stop losing games and start winning our home games. 7 points from 15 is not something to be proud of, the display today is.
  9. I think his point is you are not supporting the name of the club you are supporting its beliefs. We have gone through a very recent change of having teams with great players with real quality to what we have now. I might be wrong but i think he is saying the identity of Southampton FC is now gone. Personally i agree with him, it is hard to look at the club and see the same club i have supported for so long. Some days i watch the games and think to myself "if only we had a Le Tissier, a Shearer, a Keegan etc.. someone who can produce a bit of magic". We have nobody like that anymore. We have nobody even near that level anymore. So i agree with what he says, the club has changed so much and has fallen so far that the people who are responsible are still here and still doing it. The club needs a breath of fresh air. A reason to fall in love with it again.
  10. Not as much a tool as someone who thinks winning 1 game from 9 (potentially 10 which is 5 points from the last 30) is good. Sorry but if we lose tomorrow then the people who protest are not "tools" for doing so, the people who think 5 points from 30 is good or aceptable are. But i guess you probably wont be there anyway so what does it matter?
  11. The animal that is Benali Saints through and through and would only leave if you made him! He must hold the record for most times sent off for us too?
  12. To be honest with you this generation will be known as the "multi-platform" generation. Most big title games are now on both consoles rather then just on one. However if you compare those multiplatform games they generally score higher on 360. In terms of the market (which i work in) the PS3 would be a bad investment for the money it cost right now. Since the death of HD-Dvd Blu-Ray has not taken over the HD market like some predicted. In fact its sales are still at the 5%-7% mark which means the general public have yet to take to it. This is mainly due to the fact people don't know the difference between a normal dvd and a HD disc. Most people dont consider the difference that great nor worth buying their dvd collection again for. Add to this the primary reason for ending the format war (cost) has not happened. It still costs £25+ for a Blu-Ray disc and that doesnt look to be coming down in price to match the £8 for a new dvd. When the prices are down for the discs and the players then it could start to challenge it. But because your after games only then i think that just boils down to a personal preference really. Both consoles have their own exclusives and future exclusives. But in solid factual terms there are 40 games on the 360 with a metascore of 85%+ and 26 for the PS3. So in terms of critical acclaim there are better reviewed games for the 360. But it is horses for courses. My all time fav game is Shenmue. That was out for the Dreamcast. I would say it was worth buying that console for just that 1 game. I didnt pay for my PS3 but i would say it would be worth paying it for Metal Gear Solid 4 and GT5 when that comes out.

Not hate for Sony, they just keep making mistake after mistake and expect the consumer to pay for it. For example they didnt need to stop their films being shown. It is childish and reeks of desperation. It is like Microsoft saying they wont let Windows be compatible with any Sony product. Just hurts the people who use those products not the manafacturer. I dont hate Sony at all. But they are but a shadow of their former self. The fact they are losing so much money to me shows that.
  14. Well that is very true. However i know for a fact Fulham have had scouts watching him. Supposedly so have Bolton. Now this does not mean these are the teams who have gone in for him but it would make sense. I doubt we will see any confirmation on it as others have said that will just cause trouble amongst the team and the fans. We all knew it was very likely in January we would have to sell players, we have been through it before under Lowe. It was just a question of "who" and "how much".
  15. The Wii will never be caught. It is amazing how it has brought so many people into the games world. It is like the PS2 of the last generation.
  16. My mate seems to think he has a deal to join Fulham for £1.2m in January. Maybe this is the same gossip going round? Either way i think we all knew it was just a matter of time before Lowe cashed in on him.
  17. Next monday (24th) will see a big Fable II announcement. Im guessing it will be a release of an expansion or something similar. Hopefully!

i think its cool, customisation is obviously the way of the future as were all different However i thought i was playing my Wii while creating my avatar! But that is the nature of this generation everyone copies each other. I think it is a massive improvement over the old system and watching films is/was always going to happen eventually. We all have fast net speeds now so makes sense. The ironic thing though is right now you cant watch columbia films due to Sony crying about the fact they are getting their ass handed to them on a plate right now by Nintendo and Microsoft. Give it a week or two and they will follow suit with the other studios no doubt. Also the actual globe button thing now is miles better as makes things so much quicker. Another thing i have noticed is for games they are giving lots of add-ons away for free. Like for Fifa 09 you can now get a different comentary pack for free!
  19. My boss is a Leicester fan and thinks compared to the last 2 seasons they are playing miles better. Scoring a lot more goals and creating more. Have a more physical disiplined team. Haven't had anyone sent off and are scoring for fun, even Oakley has apparently been scoring... Any Leicester fan who thinks they are playing poor compared to what they have played for the best part of 10 years i doubt is a real supporter in truth as they have never had it so good.
  20. Not quite sure how i can put it in simpler terms. Based on 17 games we are 21st place. Based on current form we are headed for bottom place. For that to change means our results have to change. If we play the next 17 games and lose everyone of them i would say losing 27 games in a season = relegation. So it does not matter what you do with your last few games or your first few games it matters what you do in all of them. If i put this into how i do buisness terms i would have a projection of us finishing with 42 points. Compare that to table last year = relegation by over 12 points. So it means if the form doesnt change the projection doesnt change. If the form changes then the projection changes. Which means it doesnt matter how many games you use as a sample if the form is poor. Using almost 4 months of data is more then enough to see our forecast graph. If you look at that graph that is on that statistics page they show you we have been in the bottom 3 for a total of 6 weeks in all.
  21. Unfortunatly again you dont quite grasp what "form guide" means do you? For us to be "Safe" is to "assume" we will have won enough games from the last 17. A form guide looks as your games you have played and tells you how well you have done compared to everyone else. So if we lose on saturday which everyone seems to predict we will then that would mean 3 of our 4 months form guide says were in the bottom 3. From that you can sort of see a pattern there can't you? So it has nothing to do with other people's results because i think we can safely "assume" that other teams will pick up points. Hence why we must concentrate on our own games and nobody else. If we start to win games were be ok! If we dont and rely on everyone else such as you suggest then were doomed.
  22. unfourtunatly your theory counts only if the season stops right now. But that is not how form guides work is it. Especially with over half the season to go. If we maintain our form we will be bottom in 2 games. So to put that into perspective having a ratio of 1 win in 9 = relegation form. Meaning we have to start winning now or were be bottom soon and playing catch up.
  23. Form wise (last 8 played) we are bottom. What is more worrying though is of those 8 games we let in 16 goals which means we had a goal difference of minus 10.... To put that into perspective even Doncaster were 4 goals clear of us.
  24. Im not sure what to say really. Im sort of having a bit of a mixed view on a few things about the game. Firstly the ref was a complete idiot, up there with the worst i've seen. However other then the sending off he got the key decisions right. But sending off Euell for that is a total farce. I wonder if we have the money to appeal it. Other then that though i think it is the same old same old. We start off ok for the first few mins of the game. They get a cross in on their 1st attack, we fall asleep, they score. After that goal went in we were being carved apart, who thought we would get destroyed like 5-0 or something then? I know i did. Especially when we went 0-2 down. At that point i think that was a very vital point in this teams short career. If they lay down and died and got hammered the fans would of eaten them alive. You could feel it in the air people were expecting us to go further behind. But we didn't, we stood up and started to play a bit, people were trying to get involved. We created a few chances but nothing really on target. They created more and more chances and we were lucky not to go 0-3 down with that shot that just missed the post. Then we got the red card and it was a different game. Second half we ran around more and tried a lot more and the players deserve respect for that. BWP was unlucky with his shot that hit the post. DMG had a glorious chance to make it 2-2 also. But as the half went on Wolves at times ran circles around us. I think i counted about 3 touches of the ball for our outfield side in the space of 10 mins. The extra man obviously playing its part. The lads did well with a ref who gave every 50-50 their way, booked our players for throwing the ball down but not theirs. It was not fair refereeing and the FA need to look at it. But for all our trying and all our effort we created very little chances. If you can take away the ref mistakes and look at it we just didnt do what we supposedly can do and that is play football. I saw some superb passing again from defence to midfield but getting it to the striker just seems so difficult. And that is our problem. Striker. I was watching the game carefully and we just hoofed it up to DMG. Personally i felt DMG did well with what he was given which was next to nothing. They had 2 defenders marking him of which 1 now has been called up to England (he was superb yesterday i felt). There was nothing he could do. Our only form of attack was to long ball it down the wing and hope either a winger of a back could get it. A few times they got to it but then wasted it or simply run the ball out. So while the boys i felt did well compared to what i have seen before this year they ultimatly couldn't defend and couldn't create chances. These 2 things are critical flaws of any side. In the past we have shipped a lot of goals but we have scored a lot of goals too. This season we just can't score. So all in all im proud of the lads and i clapped them off the pitch, they tried hard and that is all we can expect. But now i think it is clear Jan has to either go or change formation. We have lost 11 of our 17 games. That is pitiful. The worst record in this clubs history. We are heading into the most busy part of the season and we are relying on teams slipping up already. Yesterday Doncaster and Forest got points and now the gap has returned to just 4 points seperating the bottom 5. The next batch of teams are already 4 points away. If our ratio continues it is possible we will be bottom in 2 games time. Where as we are now 12 points adrift of the last playoff spot. While none of us think we would get to that spot it shows that the league is now forming gaps from top to middle and then to bottom. We risk a very high chance of being stranded further. And what worries me is Jan does not notice it. We have won 1 of 10 home games and he just says the same stuff "plenty of games to go". Well Jan we are nearing towards 50% of our home games gone. These are must win games and you have a total of 6 points from 30. That is not on. We have to change the system or we will be playing catch up with in a matter of a few games. I watched the Wolves team in the first half and they were at times playing 4 up front together. We had just 1 guy up their end on his own surrounded by 3 defenders. He has near no chances of doing anything like that. So while we played well in patches we played awful in patches too. I think it was cruel we lost but if you look at the chances and what was created we just didnt do enough. We couldnt create anything due to having just 1 guy up on his own. Time to change or time to go Jan. Few pics Skacel getting done Surman daring Morgan to push the ref over Our lovely stewards/police having a sing a long with the Northam
  25. Im sick and tired of idiots like this posting stuff about the fans and the way they are feeling right now. How anyone simply expects you to pay your hard earned cash, sit there and appreciate the fact we are sinking faster then the Titanic is beyond belief. The fans give the players amazing support. Yesterday despite being outplayed and losing again at home they were given a standing ovation. The team is poor and had like 2 shots on target but everyone respected the effort shown. That is support. The fans are angry at the way the club is run and the way it being driven into the ground. We have gone back nearly 50 years in the space of a few seasons. People care about the club and their reaction is normal. Someone who doesnt care sits there and accepts what they are given, some even accept paying for it is fair. I dont call that supporting i call that total stupidity. This is not a charity, this money does not go to the St Mary's church or any of the other worthy causes. It goes into the pockets of people who dont deserve it. And the thing that ****es me off the most is these people dont go to the games, they dont pay the hundreds and hundreds of pounds it costs to "support" the club. Because if they did they would understand the crowds point of view and not right **** like this.
