  1. Again that relies fully on if the season replicates the past 23 games. But for that to happen means we must win the same games and the others lose the same games. The current projection of points based on form would show that the 2nd half of the season will not replicate the 1st at least in the first few games of the 2nd half.
  2. No they have a current higher points per game ratio over the past 8 games then we do meaning if they continue on their current % will overtake us if things remain as they are. We are currently in 22nd place form wise that is in the relegation zone form. The thing is this whole "season ends now" defence relies on one thing and that is being out of the relegation zone. If Charlton win tommorow and then win on saturday and we lose/draw we will be in the relegation zone. Meaning again we have to win our own games and not look at other results. If we win on saturday could mean we go 7 points clear of the zone. Or if we lose could mean we go 1 point adrift 4th to bottom place but 6 points adrift from 5th to bottom place. A gap from the bottom 4 to the rest will already be 2 wins. Again this is why our results have to change. After Forest we have Plymouth away and then Reading at home. 2 very tough games. If we fail to get 4 points from those 9 i think we can safely say we will be in the relegation zone. Here is the table for the last 8 games http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/oform.html Doncaster and Forest are 15th 16th indicating they are progressing while were 2nd to bottom with a superb points per game % of 0.75... If the final 23 games are played at the current points per game we are down and that is fact.
  3. In all honesty i had heard Surman going to Stoke was pretty much a done deal. Obviously rumours mean fook all in football as every club is pretty much rumoured to sell/buy players from every other club daily. They have a severe injury problem and could get lallana and Surman cheaper then buying prem players. If the £3m for both of them is true i think that would be way to low though. Both england u21s.
  4. Could be but Cliffy B said they had no plans to bring it to PC a few months back. But it is definatly something you would expect eventually. It could just be the announcement of some map pack or something. They say there is a HUGE surprise going to be announced on that website.
  5. Indeed that is what my mates who went said. Burnley fell asleep and we had 2 shots on target in a 20min spell which resulted in 2 goals. One that was maybe a fluke by Skacel and 2nd which was class by Surman. After Surmans goal we did not shoot once at the keeper. That is what i was told and reading the match reviews that are not on the OS would seem to support it really.
  6. My m8 in LA thinks there could be some sort of announcement about this tonight at the VGA awards (video game awards). She seems to think it could be that Hideo Kojima will get some sort of award for Metal Gear Solid 4 then confirm the new game. If that is true i would bet it is the 360 announcement seeing as the VGA's are a massive american event watched by millions on Spike tv. Seeing as in america the 360 has sold near 15m units compared to just 6m for the PS3 would make a lot of sense to announce it on 360 due to it's large user base there. If anyone is interested in watching the awards it is being hosted by Jack Black this year and can be watched here http://www.spike.com/event/vga/ at around 2am. There will be some big exclusives with an expected 10 world exclusive titles being announced and shown. Confirmed are 1st look at God of War 3, Fight Night round 4 and a Gears 2 announcement. Plus first look at Mafia 2 which i can't wait for personally! Also rumoured maybe 1st look at Uncharted 2.
  7. Sorry but my post is based on the fact we have 23 games to go. Yours is based on IF the season ended now. It won't end now so thus we have to look at the form book to get a idea of how were do. If we remain the same and others start going on runs as they are (Forest lost once in 9 games for eg) then we WILL be in the relegation zone there is no doubt about it. As i said we have 23 games to go and we must start winning games and putting points on the board. If we get 22 points from 23 games for the 2nd half of the season we will be down for sure. Last year we would of finished 2nd last with that, 2nd last season before that and the year before that. Meaning there is a pattern there. For us to just equal our 1st half of the season record we must win 5 games. When we have won only once in 8 where will the additional wins needed come from? So if we win 5 of the 23 = down. We need to win probably 10 of the 23 to gurantee survival. That means we need to win probably 50% of our remaining games. When you have under 20% win ratio that shows the actual mountain we need to climb. So as i said in my orgional post we have to start winning games and winning games now. We have to change our form now because we will just run out of games.
  8. yept it was after the Palace game either on the OS or the Echo, not sure if it was word for word but saying something similar EDIT: here it is http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11045 Right at the bottom he says "We need a highly motivated team for saturday and believe me that is what were get" The first bit of the quote he says earlier on but not in the exact words but generally the same thing. This is the quote that i got the two mixed with "“It is simple. We have to start in the right manner and there weren’t enough of us that started that way. “We’re sure that we’ll bounce back and put in a better account of ourselves on Saturday,” “We know where we went wrong (against Palace)"
  9. But it is based like that. If you look at the form guide your see teams like Forest and Doncaster are not in the drop zone. They are gaining points. We have gained 3 from our last 15. So for those things to change means we need to win games. The problem is we are not winning games. We have won only once in 8 games. It is just a matter of time before we will be in the drop zone continuing in the way we are. We have only won 5 all year. If we adopt the "there is always next week" attitude we will just run out of games. The results are in our own hands and we need to start getting them. We lost our last 2 games but still remain in the same place because those below us are not taking advantage of it. However we could find ourselves in the drop zone next saturday if Charlton win today. That would then kill this "if the season stopped now" debate wouldnt it.
  10. "We went down 2 goals in the first 15 minutes, that wont happen on saturday. We need a highly motivated team for saturday and believe me that is what were get" Followed by going 3-0 down on saturday in 10mins and the least motivated team performance we have had for many many years..... Classic quote
  11. We need someone who knows the english game and understands to get something from these games you can't play 1 up front. You need bodies in the box. The dutch way of playing football is pretty to watch but ultimatly you get nowhere. Look at the PSV liverpool game. The dutch system got obliterated. As much as i like Jan the guy i think Jan the manager is showing his experience but more sadly showing his ego. Wont change something because he will feel it will undermine his image. That is fair enough but i would rather win games then have a manager trying to prove a point to himself. Billy Davies would be great for us but i cant see him or anyone of that caliber being Lowes puppet.
  12. Problem is the season doesn't end now, we have 23 more to go. On current form we are 22nd, in the relegation zone. That is not meeting our objectives. If the club wanted someone to come in and lose 50% of the games at the half way point why did they need to employ like 8 dutch people to do it? They could of got me and my mates to do it for free. So people can try and find any excuse you like to defend it but we have now got a mountain to climb. We lose 2-3 of the players who are actually tryin = even harder. If things remain as they are in terms of losing 11 of 23, winning 1 game in 8 and winning 1 home game in 11 = relegation, no doubt about it. Were already relying on last years division 1 teams having worse scores then us. That is where we are at.

i like the lad but think he must have caught the Anderton disease or something
  14. I fully agree with you Exit. Before the start of the season a few of us were saying we would be in a relegation fight while a lot of people were caught up in the hype. They believed what Wilde and Lowe were spouting before the first game of the season. Now i hate to say i told you so to those people but i told you so. The way i see it the 1st half of the season has been error after error from the coaching staff and the board. We have players in this squad who are simply **** and offer nothing at all to the team. The loans we have this year are mostly pure garbage. The Gasmi and Pullis deals are a shining example of where our decisions are at. We would rather take 2 players who are injured. I hate slagging off players, i don't agree with it and if you read my posts will know 99% of the time i will stick up for players even after poor performances. But of the squad i would say DMG,Wotten,Gobern,Lancashire,Svensson,Euell,Gasmi,Robertson,BWP,Smith,Peckhart,Bart have all been poor overall in their games they have played. Of the entire squad the only players i feel who can hold their head up high are Davis,Surman,Perry,James,Lallana and so far in my view the outfield player of the season so far Cork. The rest who have not been mentioned have been average at best. The sad thing is as Exit mentioned a lot of that group will not be here in January. Surman is as good as gone. Davis i doubt will remain and Lallana is also unlikely to remain. If those 3 players go it will be the fatal blow to our club. Add to that Cork could be recalled and your left with Perry and James as the 2 shinning lights in the team....That is a very scary thought. The 2nd half of the season cannot be any worse then the 1st. The only reason were not dead and burried is because the teams below us are equally as poor and not gained on our slip ups. We have 3 points out of the last 15 on offer. How we are not in the bottom group from that ratio is pure luck. If we lose/draw the Forest game that will surely have to be it for the regime. We will then go into a tough run of games to finnish the year and start the next. If we are to change things that has to be the time. The last thing we want is to have 4-5 games left and having to rely on our players getting something because they won't. We have 23 games left and we can no longer have the attitude of always next week. We can't get a new manager with a few games to go and expect them to change it round like last year (even though they did). We have to start winning games pure and simple.
  15. David McGoalDrought should be dropped now. He has played something like the full 23 games and scored 5 times?
  16. At the end of the day i fail to believe the 10 dutch coaches or however many we have were more expensive to keep then Pearson. Pearson is doing what we needed someone here to do which is grind out results. The team this year are a lot worse then last years but the football that should be played remains the same. He would of understood how to use the youngsters as he did ok with them when he was here. lallana is wasted under JP. So people can try and defend JP all they want but the whole saga of him being at this club from being appointed manager while he was already a amanager at another club all the way to playing 1 up front all season is nothing short of a joke. If the guys name was Branfoot/Burley/Dodd/Gorman etc.. people would magically see it differently. He has the worst record in our football history. If the club were after that stats they could of just employed me, i'd have got that for free!
  17. Half the season gone half of those loses. 1 win at home. 1 win in 8 games. 22 points from a possible 69. Relying on other teams results already. Performances the worst i have ever seen. Tactics the worst i have ever seen, players the worst i have seen, manager the most clueless i have seen. To much of the season gone too many loses, doesn't learn his lessons, heading for relegation for sure with the system. Too many excuses time to go JAN OUT
  18. As close to a comeback as it may of sounded reality is we were pounded and it could of been anything like 7-0 in the first half. They hit the bar 3 times and KD performed like 4 outstanding saves. Other then the two goals i don't recall anything about their keeper diving to make saves. We didn't deserve to get anything from the game and if Burnley like Palace the week before didn't turn off at half time due to being mies ahead we would of got severly stuffed. A nice 25minute spell does not make up for 65 mins of playing pretty poor. So as much as i want to say "unlucky" lads we were very lucky, lucky KD saved loads, lucky the woodwork kept the score down and lucky we didn't have a player sent off.
  19. come on saints
  20. lets hope Burnley do what Palace did and just fall asleep or it will get worse on the radio they said were the worst side they have ever seen....
  21. Looks likely a loss in this game now could spark the protests imo
  22. No confidence at all. How can you score goals if you have nobody in the box? Their first two goals sounded like they had lots of people causing havoc in the box as we have no-one at all up there. Jan seems a nice guy but knows nothing at all about proffesional football especially in the modern era. Playing like that might get you somewhere in the Holland amateur division 4 but in the most competative league in the world your get no-where. Half of the season gone almost half are loses no more excuses time to go.
  23. must be the tv cameras fault! ....
  24. I feel really sorry for the people who are there. Im glad i decided against going but feel really sorry for them as it is a long miserable trip. This game to me is now just proof of what we have been seeing the entire season, awful team, awful manager, awful board, and deluded fans who think were actually playing anything better then complete rubbish. This shows you what happens when you play a style of football that is played in a pretty much amateur league against a team who play english football. JAN OUT
  25. well thats good for everyone then isn't it. Me personally i couldn't give a ****
