1. How exactly do Birmingham and Reading disprove that? If you mean as in because they currently sit 2nd and 3rd? Look at the league table and your see about 15 teams who have been in the Premiership within the last 8 years or so. Point being that the majority of teams in this league have been in the prem league then dropped down and struggled financially since. Very very few managers get lucky enough to find themselves at a club that is both safe in the financial area and have a good squad of players of whom none will leave, again that is not how football works. People like Glenn Roeder are a prime example to disprove your theory. A manager who has been in charge of clubs like Newcastle and now finds himself near the relegation zone in the CCC. People like Boythroid (or however it is spelt) who did wonders for teams like Watford , getting them promoted and to an fa cup semi-final only a year or two ago, now he has no job. Alan Pardew is another example, as is Dowie etc.. etc.. Keane and Ince join the list of people who did something then failed so again have to work their way back into the prem league. If you think a club in the prem league will come in for them with their records then you must be the one in dreamland...
2. And can they please stop mentining the Reading game because it was a complete fluke. We have played 6 games since then and have been total ****. Picked up 3 points from 18. No doubt Reading will come to us next week and give us a pasting and were read in the after match notes "we went to Reading and played them off the park" after we have lost like 0-5 at home to them.
3. As far as i could see we did not play 2 up front. In fact it sometimes looked like we had nobody up front.
4. Oh dont get me wrong none of them will put up with Lowe and his nonsense. But in terms of jobs there are only a handful of teams in the prem league who would give them the job of manager. They failed in their last jobs with millions to spend and majority of CCC teams are in trouble someway or another. Look at the teams who came down last year. 1 is 2nd to bottom of the league and 1 is near the relegation zone. Having loads of money does not mean your escape the toughness of the league. Nobody gets fired when their team is near the top only when they are near the bottom, such is how football works.
5. Simply because they want a job with no pressure. Ince went to Maccelsfield and kept them in what div 3? Then went to MK Dons. The jump to prem league was probably to soon. I can see him wanting to go to a club and build something. He will not get offered another prem job, it just doesnt happen. People like Ince/Davies/Keane/Pardew/Adams/Curbishley and Keane etc.. will not be offered another prem team, they will have to go to a CCC team and do what people like Mcarthey/Coleman/Jones/ are doing. Very few if any of the CCC team have loads of money to burn like we did when we spent 12m in 2 seasons. All clubs are having to tighten their belts. So looking at the league where would those managers go? My view is those managers are not being managers for money, it has never been about money, they are all multi-millionaires. People like Ince/Keane if they wanted could probably buy more shares in our club then people like Lowe can. The reason they manage is because they are addicted to football the same as you and me, they are so used to winning and being a success that they simply can't walk away from the game. So you say dream on but reality is none of those managers will get offered prem jobs and will take most CCC jobs regardless of money. If they take the job and fail they say they had awful resources and use that as a way to make them look better. Where as if they come in and actually save a team from relegation (such as Ince did at Maccelsfield and Keane did at Sunderland) makes their reputation go sky high. They would see a club like ours as something where they can build something slowley over time.
6. Think either of those would do good for us. They are hard lined managers and simply will not be happy with tip tap football. If i had to choose i would go for Keane but i think without any money he would not come here even if we could afford him. Ince i think would come here and i think would do very well with our squad, he is very much in the Pearson mould of manager. Plus he has ALOT of football contacts around europe who no doubt would give him a favour or two. The only problem is whoever did come in would have to now win instantly. Jan has ****ed up so bad that we have to win 7 of our last 22 games just to be on par (12 wins 12 loses). That means minimum of 33% win ratio. That is quite high and would be difficult.
7. 100% agree, Forest were awful. Just we were far worse. The Reading game now looks even more like a fluke and it ****es me off everytime i hear Jan/Wilde or Lowe mention the game like we are some sort of awesome team. The Man Utd game will be very very embarassing for us.
8. wonder how many of those who voted yes actually went to the game, the Jan out chants and the deafening boo's at the game today would suggest not many of you? 24 games 12 loses. 50% loss rate with OVER half the season gone. Disgraceful.
9. Few pics i took, sorry wasen't really much to capture from us in terms of positives Just before their goal Surmans body language speaks volumes Gasmi diving to try and get a free kick Well what can i say that hasen't already. Worst performance of the season and the players and manager should feel ****ing ashamed. If any of us performed like that in our jobs we would be sacked. Had no passion, no desire to go forward, played like strangers, played more long balls to nobody then i care to remember, couldn't be bothered to close people down and so on and so on. Anyone thinking we play good football must be severely gone in the head. It is awful, truely awful. I have watched pretty much every game we have played in the past 15 years and this manager is the most clueless i have ever known. He fails so spectaculary that i wonder how on earth he managed to con UEFA into giving him a licence, their should be laws against it. He will not be sacked because it will be like Lowe admiting he was wrong and he wont resign because this is his big chance. I am more cetain now then i have been at any other time if things are not changed we will go down. We are now 4 points from the team above us and 6 points from the team above that. Forest are on a run and will probably leap frog us midweek. The only positive is Doncaster and Charlton continue to lose with us. The players look lost, looklike they don't care and Jan sounds like a broken record failing to accept any blame for any of our displays but taking all the praise when that is given. Which now means 24 games and 12 loses. 1 win from 12 home games and 1 win in our last 9 games etc.. etc.. We have lost 50% of our games. Won under 10% of our games. Each game is vital now to our survival and we will not survive playing like we are. We will run out of games. I fail to believe that having Jan and all his 6 dutch coaches, Gasmi,Pulis,Robertson,Peckhart,Smith,Forecast,Wotten,Holmes etc.. etc... cost LESS then what it would of cost to keep any of our strikers out on loan or Pearson. Total Football? Total ****ing disgrace from top to bottom. The only player i feel can hold his head up is once again Davis. He made at least 2 more classic saves and the 1 on 1 was amazing. Without him we would of been dead and burried.
10. Worst manager in our history, possibly the worst manager i have ever seen at any club. Has no clue about modern football and if we go down i will blame him 100%. The man is a disgrace and his post match comments on the way home on the radio make me so angry. He talks about the team isn't playing like it is not his fault, he talks saying they were not motivated like it is not his fault. It is HIS job to get the players motivated and if he cant get them motivated for a home game against the team below us at home with our biggest crowd of the season the game before xmas then he never will. When it gets to the last few games of the season when we need to go to places and get results like last season under Pearson we will not get them under him. We are playing the worst football i have ever seen against teams who are themselves fecking awful. The players looklike they couldnt give a ****. How the man can say what he does when we have won one game at home in 12 games (50% of our home games) is nothing short of a scandal. How the man can stay in his job when he has lost 12 of our 24 games (50%) is ****ing disgraceful. If we keep the man and keep up with the figures for our 24 games this season we will be down. Jan have the dignity to resign, you are not up to this level of football, you simply do not understand english football. JAN OUT
11. But that doesnt tell the story does it! plus you could have a postponement or a cancelation due to something like 5 people being sent off! If only football was as straight forward as win/lose/draw hey, would be pretty boring! I still think were win though, law of averages says you have to win at home again sometime! however just noticed they have a former player who i have forgot about, Paul Smith. Would not surprise me at all if he came back to haunt us by saving loads....
12. The game will go one of three ways i think. The sell out crowd full of xmas joy make the players have huge confidence and they go on to rip Forest apart 3+-0. The sell out crowd full of xmas alcohol makes the players nervous and we get stuffed 0-3+. Or both teams come out and put all 11 in each goal and we see the classic "you attack us 1st" syndrome in effect resulting in a boring 0-0.... However i think it will be the 1st. Forest are doing better lately (50% less losses then us in last .8.) but it will be our day to shine i think (i hope) Lord knows some people need a bit of xmas spirit on here!
13. Think your reading/seeing things that are not there. If someone makes a point i disagree with i will engage in debate about that issue. That is normal. This is a discussion forum. Not agreeing with the person's rebutle and then going for the insults is not normal. I don't do that do i? If you think im using a self important tone then im sorry i give off that impression, that is not what i aim to do. However do not get it mixed with me defending myself, if someone says something insulting i will say something equally imature back to them .
14. What is obvious is that our situation can change every game. If we beat Forest (fingers xd) we move to 7 points from them. That is a nice big gap for us. If we draw we could be 1 point in front of two teams. If we lose we could be 1 point from 3 teams as Wes mentioned. It is all about momentum and taking as many points as you can. If we do lose on saturday that will mean we have taken 3 points from 18 and really as i tried to say you will not stay 21st forever with that sort of points per game ratio. Such is what The Echo were trying to say....If things (results) remain as they are we will drop back into the bottom 3 sooner rather then later. So the point is for the "others to be dragged in" means we must pick up points to bring them into it. Norwich are just 1 point above us. But Barnsley are 3 points from us. Seeing as we have won only once in 8 games what is the likelyhood we will win to get back that 3 points? On current form not very likely. So once again we have to win our own games, if we don't do that were fooked. But i thought that was obvious?
15. As i said you disagree simply for the sake of disagreeing. If we don't win games then we will suffer for it eventually. If you disagree with that then that is your opinion. But don't preach or imply that your opinion is right and mine is somehow wrong, or that because i don't share your opinion must mean your allowed to insult people for it, that is just being a cry baby. I bet you wouldn't say those things to people face to face would you? Because you know you would be in A&E on a daily basis if you did.
16. Another scudamore post aimed at insulting people, are there any other types? The thing is though you fail to understand what it is your actually talking about, again. We were actually further away from the teams below us. They are gaining on us. This is what you don't quite grasp Scudamore because as always you see the name and not the content of the post. You simply disagree for the sake of disagreeing. If you bothered to actually put a bit of effort into it rather then just go for the high post count you would of known that Forest have lost only 2 of their last 8 games and Doncaster have lost 3 while we have lost 4 of our last 8. We are in the relegation zone in form while they are mid-table. That suggests they are improving while we are not. As i stated how long can you expect people to not win games and not win your own? So to you that might mean a "weak argument" but to me it is just a case of law of averages. Managers always say things level themselves out so by that lodgic just a matter of time until results go against us. Hopefully that does not happen this weekend! And your wrong i get a hard on thinking of banging your gf, but then i realised your gf was actually a blow up doll and that don't quite do it for me!
17. shhh they might hear us!
18. Very good write up from the Echo, which makes a change. The reality is were in free fall once more and it has shown no signs of stopping as much as we look for them. For three weeks almost all football results from the 3 teams below us have gone our way. If they had gone the opposite way and didnt have the luck we could of found ourself almost 9 points adrift of 21st place. How long can we rely on that trend happening? The only thing for certain to keep us out of the relegation zone is for us to get the points from our games. And were not doing that, 3 points from the last 15 on offer is pretty awful going. The biggest indicator for the fact the system has failed/is failing is the goals ratio. As they mention we have had 9 games of our 23 where we failed to score. That is only 2 games short of 50% of our games. Add to that in 8 games we have scored only 1 goal. So that means for 17 games we scored only 8 times. It does not take a genius to see if you have that sort of goal record you will struggle. So if we can't score how can you be described as an attacking side such as Lowe/Wilde/JP try and claim? Obviously we can't and that is why i agree with this article.
19. When they say "home grown" what do they mean exactly? Do they mean a club can buy a youngster (lets say Arsenal and they buy Theo) from another club and he becomes one of their home grown players? It should be home grown as in came through the club. It is good that they are looking at things like this but i think we would all prefer it if they looked at ways to make it more equal i.e salary caps and so on. This rule wont change too much by the looks of it.
20. Be nice to see the stadium near full again. Just hope the players/manager perform or for please god don't get stuffed like 0-4 as it would get very messy!
21. The Sketch was actually pretty nice in comparison to the write up they did with it. Penny Arcade are generally quite funny (not played their games though) but they really chewed into Home's ass. This is what they said "The Beta for Playstation home is now available to everyone, and now you know what I know: this is what happens when your marketing department tries to make a game. Here is everything you need to understand about Home, if you should accidentally launch it from your XMB: press and hold the Playstation button in the center of your Dual-Shock or Sixaxis controller. From the menu that appears, select Quit. There are things about Home that are simply beyond my understanding. Chief among these bizarre maneuvers is the idea that, when manufacturing their flimsy dystopia, they actually ported the pernicious notion of scarcity from our world into their digital one. This is like having the ability to shape being from non-being at the subatomic level, and the first thing you decide to make is AIDS. If you approach an arcade machine and there is a person standing in front of it, you will not be able to play it. Likewise, if you see people bowling and think that bowling is something you might like to do, you probably wont be able to. Unable to play arcade games like Ice Breakers and Carriage Return the first several times we logged on, these games had begun to take on an epic stature in our minds. These were gushing fonts of liquid fun, habit-forming and dangerous - for the good of our virtual society, the supply had to be controlled. When we were finally able to play them, we learned that they were the equivalent of browser games. There is nothing about the experience of using Home to suggest that you are actually moving through a single, contiguous environment. It is very clearly a handful of walled off zones, where you are confronted by incessant load screens in a desperate search for stimulation. From the moment you enter one of their ultrahygenic "amusement regions," it's clear that all life has been burned away. You get the sense that this is a place in which no interesting thing could ever happen. There is already a growing school of Home apologetics, fostered by the same Order of Perpetual Masochism that lauded the rumble-free Sixaxis at launch and suggested, hilariously, that Lair and Heavenly Sword were videogames. They're under the impression that because something is free, this places it on some golden dais beyond censure. It's no virtue to give away something that no-one in their right mind would buy. Sony has no idea what this world is for, and that ambiguity infuses every simulated millimeter of it. This is the terrible secret that roils beneath their false universe: it is nothing more than a cumbersome menu, a rampart over which you must hoist yourself to accomplish the most basic tasks." http://www.penny-arcade.com/2008/12/12/
22. The Forest and Plymouth games are must wins for me. If we lose them or fail to win 1 of them we have to bail on our tip tap football system. Reading will obviously be a hard game. Then we go into Doncaster and Norwich who again i think have to be must win games. They were the games we won in the 1st half of the season, if we don't win again then weve gone backwards.
23. Not just girls mate. Penny Arcade did a cartoon earlier that sums up home to me
24. Well i can confirm this is actually going to be a new Metal Gear on the iPhone. Should be announced today. We were waaaay out
25. Isn't there meant to be a new version of Scrooge coming out with Jim Carrey in it? Also Great Escape seems to be considered a xmas film for some reason... Deck The Halls is on Sky Movies later, not seen it before.
