You mean one of these things in this pic with the saints tickets underneath? [/url] I was going to write a piece of paper saying "i have a ps3 Baj" but i used the last piece i had getting the fire going.... Besides i thought you already played me on fifa 09 on ps3?!
-
If you pre-order it you should be able to get a demo to play before hand, i have no idea how that works but that is what i heard. Been looking forward to Killzone2 for sometime!
-
Yeah i always thought that too. Maybe they gave him some sort of indication that they would buy him when his loan runs out if he does well?
-
Oh my god you Microsoft fanboy! See i think people like Danny etc.. need to work out that on a discussion board there will be people who agree with something and dont agree with something. Just because you dont agree with something doesnt make you anything other then someone who disagrees with something. Some of you guys need to stop being such cry baby's in my view, stop being so serious and looking for things that are not there. Its a games section on a football forum for calling out loud! And yes Danny i have a guilty conscience. Guilty as in it is rather sad that i have to justify every word i say to a bunch of people on a forum....

Mate i bashed Too Human and slaughtered Halo 3, both **** games in my view. The 360 had its bashing year when they would blink red like a xmas tree. But since then what can you say that is bad other then some of the games have been a bit ****? As far as i can tell Nintendo and Microsoft in terms of gaming consoles have nothing bad about them now, they dont have these bits of news that are persistantly bad all the time. That is the reality of it. Even the Sony bad news i talk of is very selective, i dont mention half the stuff that is announced such as all three sony gaming division products have been the bottom three in every region other then Japan since august. If i had it in for the PS3 i would of said stuff like that. If there is bad xbox news i will/would of mentioned it but there isnt on the same level as Sony. But i stopped saying/posting those types of threads ages ago anyway. The reality is if i say anything slightly negative about anything Sony related i will get shot down. I can accept that but it doesnt make it right. BTW Marsdinho sorry your thread got turned into another lets have a go at St Marco thread i do honestly think the games has massive potential.

Hey i have never said Microsoft was better then Sony nor vice versa. In fact i dont think ive ever even said the PS3 is **** or anything bad about the actual console nor its games. I have said the Blu-Ray would not catch on which it hasent,i said the PS3 should of given people a choice of what extras to buy making the console cheaper and said Sony were losing a hell lot of money as a company. Everyone simply assumed i dislike the PS3 and that i prase the 360. Hell if you look at all the news right now there is so much positive stuff for Nintendo and 360 that surely i would of mentioned those? It is just like this thread. I said it sounds like my type of gaming heaven but will wait until i see something from the game before i make a call on wether to buy it or not. In concept it sounds a lot like Battlefield 2. I dont see that as bashing the PS3 but you guys do. Then one of you makes a jack ass remark and i have to defend myself. It is not my fault the threads turn into the way they do. If you actually notice ive not made a thread about anything other then games for over 6 months. Not said anything bad about any of the games released (accept Too Human and Facebreaker...). Even said some nice things about Home and said i love LBP. But soon as i say one slight negative whoosh the witch hunt begins. I mean that is pretty sad you know.

I mean trailers as in gameplay style trailer. Western games devs normally make trailers within the game to sort of promote the actual gameplay. Those are just CGI videos/concept videos which is more of a eastern style of developing if that makes any sense at all! All that footage was the e3 08 footage back in may 08. 8 months have passed and were yet to see anything from actually within the game as if you and i were playing it. As i said if they do it right it has potential to be the best thing ever
-
Reason i didnt post that is because it is A, is by Fudzilla. The same people who said The Wii would fail to sell (that is up there with that guy who rejected The Beatles). And secondly Microsoft make over $8Billion in profit every year, does that sound like a company about to sack lots of people? If you read what they say they also say "Unless Microsoft's business has been absolutely crushed in the past two months, there is no reason for the company to suddenly cut this much cost. Microsoft's margins are still fine, and much of its revenue is generated from multi-year contracts (and is therefore unlikely to see a massive intra-quarter hit). Highly unlikely to happen". Hopefully then you can understand how crazy it would then sound to fire 17% of your staff for no reason. And seeing as they just said they have had the best holiday period in the companies history again makes it sound even more crazy. And i dont think it will be Sony ending their relationship with Ericsson simply because that is the only department making Sony a profit. I have said all last year how poor Sony were doing but you all laughed it off as some crazy fanboy talk... So if someone who is one of the leading financial experts in the world says what i have said says it does that make him a fanboy to? have a read http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article5446963.ece

Rudi: Too many youngsters playing and I want away
St Marco replied to Big Ron fan's topic in The Saints
Feel sorry for players like him John and Rasiak etc.. We treated them like ****. I still fail to believe all of jans signings (how many now 8?) cost less then 1 of those players. -
The ironic thing is if i created a thread about a game that had nothing to show i.e videos etc.. no doubt i would be shot down in flames for it. So really im in a no win situation, but im cool with that because i know though to you all i seem a fanboy im really just a voice of reason. Im sure if you went to other english forums it would be seen the other way round such is the % of people owning a ps3 to either a Wii or 360 here or anywhere. If i said a PS3 is awesome il be seen as taking the **** where as if i say a PS3 game is **** im an fanboy However i do find it funny that i seem to be the only one on this forum who actually likes LBP where as everyone else says its crap.
-
Not at all. Surely it would be more fanboy like to post how amazing a game is without seeing one piece of gameplay/footage/screenshot etc? Dont get me wrong 256 players all at the sametime, using vehicles such as tanks as well as air combat in planes, mixed in with transport units able to parachute out of them mixed with tactical air strikes and so on sounds like my kind of gaming heaven! I fail to see how anyone could not be excited by all that. But it remains just an idea, the fact it is that close to release and the hype train has not started at all leads me to believe something isnt quite right. Take for example Drakes 2, that is like a year away and has started to get press time, surely a game only 3 months away would too? Again look at games like Resident Evil 5, a demo has just been released in Japan and that is over 2 months away, StreetFighter 4 has started its hype train and that is over a month away, MAG was announced at E3 08 and in that time all we have seen is a cgi trailer that in fairness is pretty poor compared to other trailers for similar games i.e COD4&5. So concept wise it sounds amazing, but that is all it is, a concept. But hey if i was being the fanboy you describe i would of posted The Times news yesterday about one of Sony's divisions (Sony Erikkson,Sony TV's,Sony Laptops and Sony Gaming) about to be shut down next month wouldnt i
-
Just another Battlefield 2 clone in my opinion. MAG does indeed sound exciting but nobody knows where the game is in terms of development. Some say it has yet to be started on and some say it is near completion. There was a screenshot for it released awhile ago that was actually taken from the cgi trailer at e3 08 so it is hard to tell. BF2 is one of my all time favourite games, have put a lot of hours into it. If the people behind MAG do it right the game could be imense. Or if they do it like the new Socom game it will be **** imo.

For me it depends on what it will cost. If we have the same price as this year even if we do survive the stadium will have far less people in it. Would rather the prices were lower so we have people in the stadium then higher and nobody there. The reality is we should not be paying £10 to watch this team play let alone £20-£30. Southampton FC is not a charity, it makes the people who run it very rich, it does not go to help some orphan or hospital. It is about entertainment and right now were anything but entertaining. We are in a recession with things set to get far worse. The club needs to get realistic and treat the lifeblood (the fans) better. Weve suffered enough ****.

Are we the only team who can't sack our manager, regardless of the results?
St Marco replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Whatever happens at least he has had time in the job. Not one of these 2 or 3 month appointments we keep seeing. He has had a full pre-season and has had plenty of players coming in. Had a few go out but Rasiak and Saga were not here to begin with. John and Dyer were not in his plans aparently. I think 8 months at a club is more then enough to see what someone can do. And after watching us struggle against ****e teams in pre-season i would say we have not progressed 1 bit in those 8 months. -
Next 3 games are massive for us. Barnsley away followed by Doncaster at home. Then Norwich away. What do you think we need to get at minimum? Personally i think we need at minimum 7 points. If we lose or draw against Barnsley we could lose ground over Charlton due to them being at home vs Forest or Forest win and get further away from us meaning we could be needing 5 points to get out of the relegation zone after saturday. A win will mean we could climb out if Charlton win against Forest. Then obviously we have to win against Doncaster and Norwich or were be further adrift in the relegation zone.
-
Dont get me wrong i 100% agree with you about the fact you should not make a decision unless your sure. But if you look at the replay your see he is like 2 yards away from the wall when its struck. If you also listen to what Kelvin said in his post match interview he also said it was a definate penalty. He said ""From where I saw it, it definitely hit his hands," he said. "It's not something you want but it hit the guy on the hands as far as I could see and I think it was the right decision." You can read his remarks here http://sport.scotsman.com/sport/Southampton-0-Manchester-Utd-3.4842227.jp But that is football isnt it. If we all thought the same thing we would have nothing to talk about
-
The replay on http://www.lovefooty.net/southampton-vs-manchester-united-highlights-video-fa-cup/ if you look at 2.40 in super slow mo you see it hit his arm. The point is the decisions were the actual correct laws of the game. If he did not give them people would of been *****ing that he didnt. The way i try to see it is imagine if it was on the other foot. Imagine say Vidic did that to patterson and the ref did not give it, imagine if Nani stuck his hands up from a DMG free kick and it hit his arm and was not given. We would of all gone even more anti ref im sure! At the time as i said i felt he got them wrong because from where i was sitting it looked it. but i know full well what it is like in those situations, you sort of let your emotions run riot rather then your brain. No doubt it will be the same at Barnsley
-
Total ******** and you know it. It was a penalty. If you jump with your hands in the air and the ball hits your hand it is a free kick or in this instance a penalty. That is the rules of the game.
-
At the time i thought the ref was a total ****** and got all the decisions wrong especially the red card. It is one of those things were when your at the match you only see it in real time and only once, you dont get the chance to see a replay. When i got home i saw the replays and saw what everyone else was saying and you have to say the ref got them all right. Jan should of gone into the tv room and watched the clips before coming out saying what he did. The thing is he did not say it just for that game he said it was like that the whole season etc.. I could totally understand if week in week out we are hard done by but other then the Wolves game i dont think we have, in fact i would say in games we have had more decisions go our way then against us. We lose because we deserve to lose not because the ref doesnt give us decisions and i dont think Jan is the type who would accept that, he has not once taken any blame for any of our 13 or more defeats.
-
I was an have been to all but three of our total games this year and i 100% agree with what Offix has said. It was a blatent red card and was a blatent penalty. Maybe JP should of spoke to Patterson and said something like "lunging in off the ground with studs showing over the ball and hitting the opponent is a auto red card". Or maybe telling DMG "Dave when you try to defend a set piece and your in your own area maybe dont jump with your hands above your head, keep them to the side like your team mates that way you dont give the opponents a chance to get a penalty". Or with the goal how about saying "for the millionth time dont stand around with your hands in the air waving at the ref or linesman, play until the whistle is blown, how the fook did the guy have no marker for the free header?!". You know maybe things like that rather then "we was robbed, the ref did us in". Because looking at the replays it would seem the ref got every decision right and thus Jan looks even more of a clueless muppet.
-
Totally agree. I remember i got slated on a thread were everyone was talking about how great he was because he went to the pub and said everything will be alright! And i said i would rather have points on the board then a guy who goes down the pub to tell people its alright....Roll on 3 months or however long its been and we have a guy who sounds like a broken record who has taken the club to our lowest position in its history. He has gone from nice guy to complete jack ass in my opinion. Like if you read his comments to the BBC after the game he says about the red card "It wasent a red card, it was a normal tackle"....That to me shows how little he understands football but more importantly english football. A tackle where you jump in the air at speed with your studs aimed at a player while being over the ball is anything but a normal tackle, it is a horror tackle that thankfully didnt go the same way as previous lunges like that where a player spends years out due to a broken leg. If that happened would he say the same thing? The guy just looks for excuses rather then accept any blame at all.
-
Well if it turns out to be true and we dont lose any of the players i will be happy and will give a bit of respect to Lowe and Jan. However if it doesnt quite happen like that then Jan will look a even bigger muppet then he already does. Either that or he doesnt speak to Lowe very much so has no idea what the dark lord has in store for his young padawan.
-
Sorry but that wont work. Shouting at people makes them notice and more importantly makes them aware. Look at things like the military. When someone does something wrong will they give them a pat on the back and say well done you only got three people killed instead of 20? Teamwork is the same no matter where it is taught, wether that is in the school, in the baracks or in the office. If someone is not pulling their weight and letting everyone else down constantly they need a roasting not a pat on the back. If they genuinly are trying hard and doing the best they possibly can then you can not expect a player to be something he is not. But we have seen good from the side on occasions, we know they are capable of playing well. The question then becomes why dont they? Is it the manager? The formation? etc.. etc.. comes a time when people wont learn from a certain method and i think our method of understanding no matter what has run its cause. Good managers get poor players playing above themselves. Do we have a poor manager and good players or good manager and poor players? Personally i think we have a poor manager and a few poor players mixed with some very good players.

I wonder if i have been watching the same team every week as you Tim... I mean there is every reason to remain positive but there are more reasons to remain negative. The fundementals of football are to put the ball in your oponents net while stopping them doing the same to you. That is it, it is not rocket science. Did we create anything? No. Did we looklike we were going to create anything? No. Did we defend well? No. Did we looklike we would keep a clean sheet? No and the main one for me is; Are the players learning from their mistakes? My opinion is No. You could swap Man Utd for any of the teams we have played this year and your see those statements are the same for pretty much all of them. My personal opinion is we have been to nice on the players, too understanding of them. They have put in some of the worst displays i have seen by any side let alone any Saints side. With over half the season gone we find ourselves second to bottom with just 4 points from the previous 24. If they cant learn the mistakes in 26 games how long will it take until they do? Do we have that many games? If it was up to me i would have a person like Pearson in there keeping their feet on the ground. So many of our players play for themselves as individuals rather then a team and that in my opinion is what is costing us. Nobody wants to take the inititive for situations especially on set pieces. Some players need to be told they are letting the team down because that is what they are doing. When it doesnt matter fine praise them for their 14 loses this season but now it matters. If they continue to put in the displays they are consistently putting in then we will be down for sure. There is nothing to be positive about when that happens.

August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
St Marco replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
if we go into admin the next season and a half will be very difficult with the points deduction. But you can come back, look at Hull.
