  1. I'm not really looking to have a go at Lowe, clubs need players so it obviously means we will get players in. What interests me is that the amount of players we have brought in this season is possibly the most we have ever brought into the club in just one season? Maybe that is another factor for why we are doing so poor that the team changes so much that nobody gets time to get used to each other?
  2. Those who have left that i can remember Safri Wright Licka Ostuland II Viafara Davies Powell And Rasiak,John,Dyer on loans No doubt we have saved a lot of money on wages but other then Davies were the others not brought in under Lowe?
  3. Counting loans and full transfers Cork Forecast Peckhart Wotten Gasmi Pullis Holmes Smith Saeijs Liptak Molyneux Schneiderlin Perry Pearce Robertson 15 players?
  4. Haha classic!! So let me get this straight. Lowe should be praised because he rejected low offers for players? The fact is offers came in for players and they were turned down because they were too low. That to me suggests they maybe wanted more money? The question then is what were the offers and who were the players? A friend in the club told me a club in England has been interested in loaning Saga, 1 interested in Rudi and another interested in signing BWP. As far as i have heard those were the only 3 serious interests. Those who are more connected to the club then me might be able to shead more light on it then me. Now all through the season scouts have been at the games watching our players, we know Fulham,Bolton have been watching Lallana and Surman supposedly has been watched by a few teams too. Now the fact they are still here to me suggests the offers did not come in for them. If they did not come in for them how can you praise a chairman for not accepting bids?! Was it not his right hand man who said we will have to sell players in january? Was it not his right hand man who said just a few weeks ago that if Dyer and Saga returned the financial strain might be too much? And so on. Form wise i can't blame any of those teams not coming in for those players, we're 2nd to bottom and they are not exactly playing great are they? Lallana has been pretty poor this season overall in my book. But it's not like you to bait people Johnny
  5. The thing is though Sagas goals have been more about instinct (a goal scorers brain) then anything else. I'm not bashing DMG but you can see there is a huge gulf in ability between him and Saga. I'm sure if Saga played on his own he would have more goals then what DMG has. I keep seeing all those chances he has missed through the season, i don't think Saga,John or Rasiak would of missed those. But as you say it is not just DMG, we have failed to contribute goals as a team. The shape looks better now so hopefully that will change.
  6. Think your right Nick. The way i see it if we kept up with the points return from the first 28 games into the last 16 we would be down. The last 2 games with the right mix of players and formation have made a huge difference. Having an actual goal scorer in the team gives us a chance to survive. Saga has almost scored half of what DMG has scored in just 2 games. If only he had the 30 games DMG has had hey.
  7. If we are getting in players who didn't even make it in the technical division 6 then we might have more of a chance then you think! I was waiting by the phone until 5pm for the call. Maybe the snow knocked the phone lines out?
  8. I very much doubt it But i would probably guess he is closer to my level of playing then say Sagas level of playing
  9. We'll i'm more confident then i was 2 weeks ago that is for sure! But this is a must win game for me, as is the Watford one. Sheff Utd are doing well but they have lost their way in the last couple of games. A draw to Preston and loss to Doncaster. So i think the guys can and will win this one 2-1 to Saints!
  10. Got to laugh really. We signed a player who was sold by Southend for £60k a year or so ago for failing to break into the division 1 side. Upon letting him go the manager said "Zoltan never really progressed how we'd hoped". Ironically he only got to play reserve games. Even more humorous is that he is "an Hungarian under 21 international" even though he is 24.... Now i'm not knocking the lad but if he failed to impress at Southend,Huddersfield and the giants that are Stevenage Borough then realisticly how can we expect him to impress here? I think this deal stinks of desperation more then anything. As my mate quite rightly points out, when was the last time you heard a good player (championship level) move clubs for £50-£60k? So i hope the lad does well for all our sakes but if anyone looks at this signing and thinks it is a good deal then again i have to laugh. Thankfully it is just a loan, i probably earn more money then this guy does
  11. BWP to some scotish team (maybe hearts?) and again heard a Davis rumour but this time for Hull and not Sunderland. Personally if i had to guess i think nobody is after/going to bid for Lallana or Surman
  12. Personally i think the 3 teams in the zone now will be the ones to go down unless we beat Watford. If we beat Watford we have a chance, but lose and i think it's over. Forest had gone on a non lose streak of something like 12 games and won about 7 of those to just get 6 points clear of the drop zone. Were 4 points adrift now so have to say the next few games are make or break. But if we go on a run and haul our ass out of the relegation zone i think it will be Norwich Watford Charlton
  13. Was a great turn out. The thing that made me proud is that it was peaceful and was a complete mix of people across the south. The last few weeks we have had forum warriors claiming only a few would turn up, only chavs will turn up, no media would be there and so on. So it sticks 2 fingers up at those people who feel they must have acomplished so much sitting on their ass behind their keyboard doing nothing. The ironic thing is i spoke to one of the policeman who told me if he was not on duty he would of been marching along with us anyway. The other thing people can be proud of is that the energy from the crowd helped raise the atmosphere in the ground. Which goes against those saying it would have a negative efect.
  14. your ****ting me right? The guy (Wotten) was awful. He could not pass to save his life, his long balls went out of play and he never tracked his marker as much as he should. Add to that he should of been sent off for about 8 stupid fouls he did. Guess that goes to show how football is a game of opinions hey.
  15. Have to agree with the above. Just getting home from a great day alround really. The protest went very well and showed to the muppets saying nobody will turn up that at least 1000 or so care about the club enough to turn up. So very proud of the community for that. Then the game. Wotte deserves a hell of a lot of credit for going 442. He did what we all wanted Jan to do for the whole season and it prooves we can play that way. Wotte has made his mark on the team already and i have to say i am more confident with him at the helm then i was with Jan. However there are a few things. Molyneux i have been worried about for sometime now and today i think showed the boy needs to grow up fast. With Skacel on his way out i feel we will now have to put Surman in that slot for the Sheff Utd game and that will break up the creative part of the midfield. Wotten should of been sent off for that two footed tackle, he made mistake after mistake and once again showed he is not up to this level. When he got nutmegged he just let the dude go, you can't do that. But other then Wotten,Molyneux and Lallana i felt everyone else did very very well. Even DMG was all over the place trying to get the ball back. He missed a complete sitter that somehow went over the bar but he was trying to get into the mix and that is what we need. Roni Size was my man of the match simply because as good as Saga was with his goals Size defended like a brick wall, taking the pressure off the defence with every tackle and every header. The boys done really well and they should feel confident about our chances of success if they continue to play with that level of effort. BUT As good as the result is it means we lose points on teams like Derby while keeping the same gap to teams like Watford. Watford are in the relegation zone with us now. We have to get more points then those around us and that is not what we're doing. When a team draws/lose we have to take advantage of that. We have 2 gigantic games ahead of us now which i feel will decide our fate. Lose to Sheff Utd then lose the vital game to Watford and i think we have to be honest and say we deserve to go down. If we can't beat any of the teams around us then we don't deserve to be here. But this performance but more importantly the effort shown by the players gives me confidence that the great escape is possible. The manager gives me more confidence then what JP did. If only Saga and maybe Rasiak were here all season maybe things would of been different. The next 2 games are make or break time.
  16. I 100% agree that a draw for us was the best result. It gives us a chance to get the gap back to needing just one win if we do our bit and win against Swansea. Would rather be chasing 4 points then 6! (understand Hamster mate? or do i need to go to double spacing for ya? )
  17. Translated = There are no aliens in area 51; they are under the sms pitch wearing the Pompey shirt that was burried there. Better for you to read?
  18. We'll to be fair mate they have both gone 1 point further away from us. If we win we will claw back 2 points on them both. If we lose we will need 5 points to over-take them. Seeing as then Doncaster have a game in hand and if they win that will take them well clear of us. We need to be gaining points on those above us not losing them. If we don't take advantage of the others results we will never leap frog them. What worries me is if we do fail to win tomorrow and Watford and Derby win it could potentially do us in right there. Because that would mean we would need to win 2 games to get out while hoping others lose. We have to play Watford next then Derby later meaning if we have a repeat of Forest and Doncaster against them it will be over for us. It might not be mathimatically over but we would be at minimum 9 points a drift. Seeing as we have won only once in the past 12 games i am not too confident we could win 3-4 of our remaining 17 games while hoping at least 1 of those teams loses all theirs. It just would be very unlikely. A win tomorrow will help us a lot. We lose and Derby win then that for me makes the Watford game a lose and were down game. Let's pray that does not happen hey.
  19. Doncaster 1-0 if they win this game and win their 1 in hand andy they will be 9 points clear of us meaning we would need 10 points to over-take them. Think we can say if that happens they won't be going down.
  20. Are playing tonight, so which way do we want this to go? Doncaster have a game in hand. If they win they go 6 points clear of us. If Norwich win they go 6 points clear of us. If they draw they go 4 points adrift of us. Hard to say which way to call it because either way we're going to lose ground on 1 of them or both of them tonight
  21. Well Swansea have now posted a record of going 13 games un-beaten. Winning their last 5 on the trot against teams like the skates,Reading,Burnley (Histon...) etc.. They put 4 past Preston on tues. They are the in- form side. We have won once in something like 12 games, one win at home in god knows how many now. All signs point to another loss for us. And thats why i'm going for a win!! All good runs have to come to an end sometime and that means their run of not losing will end; and our run of not winning at home will end. So i think it will be 3-1 to Saints!! However i have been saying that all season and i never seem to learn....
  22. I think it's quite clever. Shows words being spelt wrong is not as important as some would like to believe. The other interesting thing about the study is they show how words are spelt one way then change the way it is spelt over time. Meaning a way we spell something today might not hold the same meaning in the future. An example of that is we used to spell football "foteball". Another interesting thing is it was Cambridge University that came up with the football rules we use now!
  23. Monday 4pm and team Slavia Prague
  24. I don't think they petty'd the fool did they? I'll get me coat....
  25. I agree with what others have said. Depends on how he approaches the next few games. If he has learnt anything from the first half at Norwich. If he reverts back to a 4-1-4-1 then we're screwed. But if he leaves it as it was in the 2nd half at Norwich we're have a better chance. However as much as i want it to work out i just can't see it. I predicted we would struggle under JP and i see nothing different about that happening under Wotte. The next few games are so vital that losing even just the next game could mean we need 7 points just to get out of the drop zone. Make no mistake about it the next few months are going to be very tense. I just hope we rise to the challenge rather then bottle it like in the Forest,Doncaster etc games. That would **** me off more then being relegated, the fact that we did not even try.
