  1. Firstly this is in no way shape or form based on those who run the website. Think we all appreciate the hard work that goes into keeping the website up and running. Without them we would not have a place to share our views. I was just curious to know if people are a bit fed up with the way the forum has gone? In the sense most threads end up turning into a tit for tat name calling exercise rather then actually anything Saints related. Most threads seem to be dominated by 3 or 4 posters who say the same things over and over, while a lot of the old posters who i feel are respected by the community have vanished. or simply stopped posting. So whats going on where have you all got too? Should people be getting banned like the old days to discourage the behaviour? Or is it connected to the feelings of where the club is at right now, have you simply lost interested in the whole club?
  2. The way i see it people will always complain no matter what. The thing i find funny is that those who snipe at people like Connor for actually trying something normally sit on their ass in front of a pc typing on a forum *****ing all day. Like Lowe, Wilde, Mickey Mouse will stumble on the post and go "Thats it boys, some nerd has said they don't like us on a forum, we better clear our desks......". This is the real world where if you want things to change you have to do something about it. I think if he manages to get Lowe gone then he will be known as a legend among our people
  3. I would like to see some anger aimed at people like Askham and Jones. Especially Jones for letting Wilde spend everything we had. Lowe is the face of the regime but he is just one of the many idiots on the board.
  4. Agreed. The cast has been set so to speak. We have no option but to sit back and watch what happens. Now is not the time for the Trust to once again come out with the same old ********. Before the season started was the time for this stuff when most people saw the inevitable was going to happen anyway. They are no different then the one who calls himself our spokesman in my view. Out of all the people who claim to represent our fans the only one i actually have a bit of respect for is Connor Bowers or whatever his name is. At least he got some people doing something wether you agree with it or not. The trust just jump in bed with anyone who says they might get them a slot on the board. How is that going from when Wilde 1st came in by the way? Ah yeah thats right, it didn't....
  5. Yeah that guy is anoying, same as Zangeif when he gets you in that spinning piledriver. It really is like the old days though where your both got like 1% life left and your trying to get that last hit in but you keep missing each other somehow. Awesome!
  6. So funny reading this thread looking at the predictions of people who complain about people not being positive. Funny how a few days can make them change their opinions hey
  7. I think the guy does deserve a bit of respect for the way he approached this game. He changed things around and dropped the dutch system. Only one player in the team was not here last season. We ditched youth for experience and that balance made a huge difference. Add a bit of quality from Surman and Saga and the deserved result came. However trying to be all smug about things with 1 win in 5 is a bit premature. If we replicate that into the last 13 we are down for sure. What matters is how we go on from here. We have a week off then go into a very busy period of games, a period that will show us if we are most likely down or in with a chance. If we lose next weekend then this game will mean nothing. This whole game by game he is great then he is crap then he is great etc needs to stop. Judge the guy at the end of the season. He gets a lot of flak from people, i myself have questioned his ability/experience. But if the team can perform like this with consistency then even the hardest of critics would have to say the boy done good.
  8. Just back from the game and what a game it was. First half we were superb playing direct flowing football rather then the rubbish we have seen all season. For that Wotte deserves a huge amount of respect. He changed the formation, personel and style and that took some balls. It is effectively dumping the dutch system and reverting back to english system. The confidence but more importantly the passion from the players was a joy to see. Everyone was giving it their all and the amount of proper chances we had in those 45mins were of so much better quality then we have been seeing. In that 1st half we were superb and was by far the best i have seen us play this season. It is the first time i can honestly say we have looked like a team and that gave the crowd the boost they so badly needed. 2nd half was very different however as you would expect. Preston changed things a bit but they never looked like a top 6 side, far from it. They were awful. As much as Wotte deserves credit he also deserves a bit of criticism when he made the changes effectively switching to a defensive style. We were then on the back foot a bit and i think most were a little nervous. But they held on to a much deserved win, they really did a good job and each of them deserve praise for their attitudes. What happens now is what is important. We would be stupid and tempting fate to start saying we will now survive or that the manager is awesome etc. He deserves credit for switching style, that to me means a lot. It is showing and proving that everything we have heard from Lowe,JP etc was complete ******** regarding playing just 1 way, we all knew it was. We have a game in hand on Norwich and Forest and if we win that game we will be level on points with Forest which is the safety zone. We have to take this chance and it will give everybody a massive lift. If we come out and play **** next weekend then this result will mean nothing. 1 game does not mean we are a changed team, 1 result does not mean we have a good manager, 1 result does not change anything other then giving people the faith they so badly needed. We have 1 win in last 5 games. If we keep that ratio we are relegated. That is why what happens now matters so much, it is how we go on from here that we will find out if we have the nohow to survive. The only negative is everyone but Forest also got points, would of got some mad odds on that happening! Also thought i would say last year people were saying how great Davies was doing, i was one of them, but Roni Size to me has done equally as well, he is exactly what we needed.
  9. Got it for my PS3 as i prefer the d-pad on the controller to the 360 d-pad. Love the game, really addictive and can see a lot of time will be spent trying to learn the game. Only problem is i find even normal level insanely difficult! I remember playing SFII back on the megadrive, i'm sure it was easier back then! As for playing online.....
  10. Because it is always the same thing isn't it. Were all just going round in circles. We are so caught up with over analysing every little thing that we ignore what it is all about and that is the football but more importantly the football results. Wotte has only just got the job as manager here. However he was here from the start being a key member of the dutch revolution. But in his short time in charge every day you wake up to find something he has said to the media and it isn't all just positive spin. In a few cases he has gone beyond the need and said things which lets be honest will provoke a reaction from an already angry fanbase. We had the one where he came out backing the board, then the one about fans taking some responsibility for our position etc. As i have said in those 3 threads my view is he should just shut up about everything other then the team and the matches. We don't need to know what he thinks about people protesting, we don't need to know that he likes Lowe, we don't need to know half the stuff he says. What we need to know is, is he the guy to save this club from going to our lowest point in 50 years? Is he the guy who will give the job 110% and knuckle down and get the players playing above themselves? Everytime he comes out with a remark like today it will just ignite more hatred for the guy. You can argue until you are blue in the face and becoming worm food about what would of happened under different managers/boards/players etc all that means nothing. We are in a very very serious situation where we need the fans players and the staff all pulling in the same direction, coming out with remarks like this does not do that. It makes people interpret them differently. Some will see it as no harm while some who go to the games and have done so for years will question what being a real fan means. Just get on with it, let the results do the talking, that is all i want, i'm sure most people just want that too.
  11. Your wasting your time. Some people will believe something regardless of what actually happens/happened. The truth is we have a group of people trying so hard to find something to be smug about but the reality is there is nothing to be smug about. The same characters are the same people who said Lowe coming back would make a change for the better, the same people who said we would be playoffs contenders or mid-table when JP and Wotte came in. The same people who said the kids will do us proud and show how much they care with their displays on the pitch, the same people who said we would not be in a relegation fight etc etc. Give it a week or two and they will claim to have known Wotte would be a disaster waiting to happen all along. That is how it is. If we get stuffed tomorrow they will revert back to having a go at Wotte. If we win they will claim he is the best thing to happen to the club. But for some people words mean more then actions, for me i couldn't give a monkies what Wotte says as i will be at the games regardless, all i care about is the results, lose tomorrow and that is 2 points from 15 and thus not good enough and should get his own house in order before telling others what to do.
  12. The point is when he joined they were in the relegation zone with 24 points sinking, he has now got them clear of the relegation zone and has 34 points. In that same period we have got just 5 points. A whole new approach can work wonders, sometimes it doesn't, a manager and his personality as well as ability account for a lot.
  13. Nobody has said that Wotte came in with JP to transform the club into what it is now. He helped to create tactics, training schedules, player roles and more importantly advised JP on what players to use. He had direct involvement with selecting which players to bring into the club and what personel to bring in. Wotte as you try to imply had not just arrived at this club, he was our sort of director of football mixed with being reserve team boss.
  14. Forest have a poor team and they seem to be doing better since they change manager don't they? A manager who inspires his team can get them to play above their ability. We will see if Wotte is that guy.
  15. Indeed the record books will show it that way. But anyone who believes he was accountable for it is a ****.
  16. No and No But that is using my heart. My educated brain tells me that if this guy was not good enough in holland and couldn't get his methods to work there then what chance does he having it work in one of the most competative leagues in the world? I will cheer the players on home and away as i had under JP and those before him. But i think most sane people realise the position which he himself helped to create is very very tough.
  17. But as i mentioned Bob he does not need to keep doing that, every day there is a new article with "Wottes goes to war" or something similar. He just needs to get on with it. If the players come out with the right attitude and the right amount of passion then that will rub off on the crowd and in return they will get behind them more. If they come out and can't be arsed then he can't blame the fans for that.
  18. Pearson was appointed the manager the evening before the game, didn't have time to see the players let alone take a training session. The match day it was agreed he would let Dodd and Gorman pick and manage the team for that game and he would observe. To credit him with that game is laughable. That is like saying a guy who takes a new job at a bank that just posted £11bn loss the day after he joined is to blame for it. Pearson had zero to do with the Plymouth game and saying it should count is sad really. Wotte was here from the 1st day we went dutch. He came in as a duo with JP, he had a lot of say in what way the club was going. Again to try and compare that with Pearson is laughable.
  19. Nobody wants this club to go into admin, nobody wants this club to be relegated again. Everyone wants to see us lift ourselves out of the doom and gloom we have been in for years. The only way that will change is if the results on the pitch change. The fans have backed this club all season, considering how poor we have been a few boos is pretty good going compared to what happens elsewhere. Wotte has to start delivering on his words then people might have more faith and more belief in him and his team. Right now i don't believe he is the man to save us, i think he is un-professional. He should be getting on with his job not looking for fights and deffinatly not looking to be little fans of this club. Because doing that means forgetting why this club is where it is right now, people don't simply forget that because some guy asks you to. The fans will back the team as they have all season but now is the business end. No more excuses and no more "the fans can win it for us" type ********, the players on the pitch are the ones who get the results and they are the ones who need re-minding not the fans. He should just remain silent, talk about the team and only the team.
  20. No he just needs to shut up, every day he is spouting something i.e Wotte goes to war etc, time to put up or shut up. If he wins some games and helps us in our battle then his words will mean something. Right now they make him look an idiot.
  21. sorry but i don't agree, you can try and run defence but these were his actual remarks "I read some stories about some young kids doing a protest march and you just wonder what’s in their minds – are they really supportive or are they waiting for us to go down? " To me saying that it is young kids protesting is not taking the people serious at all. "You can moan every day about Southampton Football Club and probably they are right because we’re not performing well enough – we’re 23rd in the league – but in difficult times you recognise a true fan and the true believers in this club." So a true fan and a true believer should be all happy and full of nice words/feelings for the club and the way it is being run? The fans have had to put up with a lot of crap from this club and paid for it. Wotte should be in the dressing room telling his players what to do, out on the training pitch drilling them, not on the whistle to the Echo talking about the fans, again.
  22. See above
  23. Wotte's 1st game was against Norwich Norwich = draw Swansea = draw Sheff Utd = loss Bristol City = loss total = 2 points Pearson's first 4 games S****horpe = draw Ipswich = draw Wolves = draw Blackpool = draw total = 4 points
  24. 2 points less, Pearson had 4 points from 1st 4 games. Wotte has 2. Pearson then won his next game so lets hope Wotte does the same.
