  1. Sorry bud but it is a must win game. Lose this with Barnsley playing Blackpool means one of them will get away from us. If Barnsley win they have 2 games in hand which could mean they become ten points clear of us. If Blackpool win means they go over 7 points clear and Barnsley have 2 games in hand. Meaning if we lose we could need 3 wins just to get on level terms. So if that happens we need to win more then the 5 of the 8 left. Probably 7 of the 8. Then after that we have just 3 home games left. So if we lose then go into the 3 games with the teams around us and lose 1 game to any of them will make our chances nearly impossible. And that is the point, it is not mathimatically over until it is over, but realisticly its would be virtually impossible for us to stay up. We have to win our last 4 home games at all costs. A point today is a bad result, especially if Barnsley win.
  2. 3 points today no excuses, make or break time Mr Wotte,
  3. Barrera is one of my favs and is one of the reasons i started boxing. The guy is a complete legend. 7 time world champion, 3 weight world champion. I have met the guy and he is such a nice person, very friendly and approachable, very respectful and humble. In contrast you listen to Khan and he is the total opposite, a lippy little gob ****e who talks like he has done everything. Reading his comments recently about how he say's he will retire MAB and become a better fighter then him just makes me even more sure Barrera will be more focused for this fight then he has recently. Khan is a nobody, he has speed and that is it, takes more then that to be a fighter. If he goes in against Barrera with the same attitude he has shown in all his previous fights he will end up in hospital. One slight mistake and Barrera will fully take advantage of it. I see Khan doing the hit and run move through the start of the fight and will look the better boxer. But at somepoint Barrera will hit him and the question is how Khan does with that. If Khan can take it then he could go on to win. But i think Barrera will school him and teach him a boxing lesson, teach him to respect the legends of the sport. Personally i see it as a bad bad night for Khan, a devastating beating at the hands of the Baby Faced Assassin. The one thing i will give Khan credit for is he hasen't done what most Warren fighters do after they lose and return to fighting bums every few months. If Khan can win the he has a chance at becoming a champion. But even a Barrera at only 50% is better then a Khan at 100%. So i see a Barrera knockout in round 8, ending the Khan myth once and for all.
  4. I agree to an extent but i disagree about the performances. We had 3 good wins, lets not forget those. But we also had 6 pretty poor performences too. What matters is that we stay up, if we play poor but still get wins then i am more then happy for the guy to stay on as he will deserve it. But if we go down then he won't deserve it. His job is to keep us up. If he doesn't then he has failed. But as you say it depends on the board room situation.
  5. Gigantic game for us what with Barnsley playing Blackpool and Norwich vs Plymouth. A loss here and the following 3 games will seal our fate. We cannot lose, the players have to understand this. There will be only 3 home games left after this one. I think it will be a very tense game being played by two awful teams but we will win 2-1.
  6. QPR game is a must win game. Wotte is just trying to remove a bit of pressure from it really. QPR are the worst form side in the league currently, have not won for something like 10 games? In fighting in the camp with people falling out, rumours flying around that the manager will be sacked and replaced with Ince. Add to all that they have quite a few injuries and are playing away. This is the best possible time for us to be playing them. What makes it a must win game is that if we lose the game (which i don't think we will) then we have only 3 home games of the 8 games left. We would need to win probably 5 of the 8 games and again that just makes things harder for us. With Blackpool and Barnsley playing each other someone or even both will gain point/s over us if we lose.
  7. When i did it, it was nothing short of a nightmare. Took me a long time to get it sorted. For me my problem was that in the services part of windows my "UPNP Device Host" was on stopped, as was "Media Sharing Network Device". I restarted them and put their start up to "automatic" and the thing then worked! There are a few threads out there that help such as this one which i found very helpful http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3media&thread.id=47608&view=by_date_ascending&page=1 Hope you get it sorted
  8. It is running fine on my pc and i have vista. The game is amazing but there are a few bugs which are sometimes a bit annoying. Like your have a battle, after the battle you are then sometimes put in another battle against no-one. If you sim that battle you can end up losing troops like they have been killed fighting ghosts, very annoying. The one good thing about all that is Valve put the game on steam so that it gets updates which fix those things. Most of the problems have already been fixed but a few still remain. I guess that happens with every pc game, it takes time to fix everything. But it doesn't ruin the game, it is so much fun. Personally i would say it is the best game i have played this year thus far.
  9. Just did mine and this is what i got The Forest game and the week before where Forest play Blackpool will seal it i think. But in truth the next 4 games will have decided our fate i think. I just don't know which way the results will go. I think if we fail to win 3 of our next 4 games that will be it.
  10. Personally i thought we were ****. You can dress it up and call it whatever you like but we were ****. The first 45mins was up there with the most boring halves of football i have seen this year. Derby looked the better team and looked the more likely to score which wasen't very likely at all....Which tells you something. Second half we started a little better and created a few chances but so did they. Neither side could find those killer balls. And when a chance came both sides squandered them. We had some major luck in that Davis' mistakes were not costly and that their keeper made a total hash of Perry's shot. Will that be considered a own goal? After we scored they changed and went 4-4-2 and began to run the show a bit. After that we had a couple of chances to put the game out of reach especially Surman's chance, after he missed that you just knew what was coming. Then the manager made what i thought was a huge error. He decided to change things and put Wotten on and put DMG on the left. From that momment on i knew we would not win because we would no longer be an attacking set-up. We would invite them back into the game, and that is what happened. They scored from some poor defensive play, considering we had more natural defensive players out there they should of done better. After that we were holding on for our lives and got major lucky that their shot hit the post near the end. All in all i think we were lucky to get a point. After they got back to 1-1 i think majority of us would of taken the draw. So my view is Wotte blew this one for us. With them chasing the game we should of kept Surman on (who didn't play well) but he can pass, especially long ball, so would of set up counter attacks as Derby pushed forward for the goal they needed. So have to say that Clough changed his tactics perfectly while we changed ours for the worse. I have praised Wotte a lot over the past few weeks, decided to not comment about the Brum game, but i saw a lot of worrying mistakes today in his decisions. It was like a return to before our wins. But things stay as they are. We are still the same points away from getting out of the drop zone even if we have dropped a place. We have gone from needing 5 wins from 10 to 5 wins from 9. We must win all our home games now, so QPR is a must win game, especially as Barnsley play Blackpool at the weekend meaning one of them will get away from us if we lose. Dissapointing game but not the end of the world, we still have time to get out of it. QPR game is now massive.
  11. Derby are top of the form league having won if i remember right 7 of their last 8 games? But we been doing okay and think we're win this one 2-0.
  12. Again see above Survival is not in our own hands. We need to win and hope others lose. IF We get to the Blackpool,Charlton,Watford period as the table is now THEN survival is in our own hands. We have to get through Derby and QPR with the table looking the same as it is now. If the table looks different the circumstances change. If we win the 2 games and others lose we will be out of the relegation zone before the period where we play Blackpool and have a game in hand. If we lose the two games and Blackpool gain just 1 point before playing us will mean they have to lose a game and we win against them and win our game in hand before we can overtake them. Again meaning we need another team to lose and us to win. If we were to play Blackpool tomorrow then next weekend play our game in hand with Blackpool not playing at all only then would we go above them IF we won those games. But as im trying to point out and people seem to be ignoring is that there are 24 games in the league to be played before now and then. The odds that the table will stay as it is with 24 games being played is next to no chance. By the time we get to the Blackpool game the league will look different, we could be out of the drop zone by then, making the Blackpool game not as important as it will be if we lose the next 2 games. Or if we lost both those games we could find ourselves 9 points adrift of the safety zone, again meaning we would need teams to lose. Your whole theory revolves around us playing Blackpool tomorrow and then playing our game in hand while nobody else plays at all.
  13. No because that requires us to win both games against Derby and QPR and Blackpool to win their 2 games before we play them. If that happens and we then beat Blackpool and then win our game in hand will mean we go ahead of them. But it means before that can happen the sequence of results must stay the same i.e if we lose the teams around us have to lose, if we win the teams around us have to win etc. If one result is not in line with the sequence in the 2 games before we play them it changes it. For example if we beat Derby and QPR and Blackpool lose the 2 games we will already be ahead of them by the time we play them with that game and the game in hand to come. As things stand as of right now for us to get out of the relegation zone we have to win against Derby and Barnsley have to lose against Birmingham. If we draw and they lose we stay where we are, if we draw and Blackpool win will increase their distance from us. If all the sequences for the next 2 games stay with everything as it is then it will be in our hands. But the chances everything staying as it is like right now for 2 weeks is not likely.
  14. We'll we have to play Blackpool and Watford. Charlton are gone so we should forget them. Blackpool are 5 points ahead of us. If we win our game in hand and then beat them we will need to have brought our GD down by 4 to leap frog them. So in that regards it is in our own hands. BUT if we lose a game and they win a game means they will go 8 points clear of us. If that happens think then as i said we really will be up against it. Then we have Watford who we would need 6 points to clear and would need to ajust our GD by scoring 11goals without conceeding. Not very likely. Add to that they have a game in hand on us. Meaning we need to win and hope they lose 3 games before they play us. Then we would need to beat them to over-take them. So in English that means we need to win and hope teams lose. It will be out of Blackpool,Barnsley,Forest Saints and Norwich for the last 2 spots. As things stand for us to get out of the relegation zone we have to win and Barnsley have to lose.
  15. Actually it isn't in our own hands. If we win all our games and everyone else wins their games we are down. We need to win and hope teams lose. We need 5 points to clear Forest and 3 to clear Barnsley. But they have 2 games in hand over us so we have to hope they lose them both. Because if they win them both to match our games played would mean we would need 9 points to over-take them. 10 games left and i think we need at bare minimum 5 wins from them. But even then 15 from 30 might not be enough. Every game now is massive and Derby and QPR are must win games. After that we have 8 games left of which only 3 will be at home. All we can do is win our games, if we do that we have a chance, every loss now has the potential to really fook it up for us. For example if we lose to Derby and Barnsley win they go 6 points clear of us with 2 games in hand. if Forest win we need 7 points to jump them. That means of the 9 remaining we would need 3 wins just to get level and hope they lose 3 games. So it is far from in our hands, but if we win the games we have, especially our home ones then we have a chance.
  16. To be fair though DMG has played a hell of a lot of games this year. He had a total mare at the weekend again, so he should be dropped for this one. If i had to choose i would go with --------------Davis--------- James----Saeijs----Perry---Skacel --------------------------------- ------------Wotten-------------- -------------------------------- ------Gillett----------Surman---- --------------------------------- -------------Lallana--------------- --------------------------------- ------Saga-----------Euell----------- Schniderlin has been a bit below par for awhile now, maybe give him and DMG a break from the team.
  17. Basically i think our odds mean if you put say a tenner on us and we go down you win a fiver right?
  18. Will depend on what the prices are. With people losing their jobs, companies going under, banks being ****s etc people are caring less and less about paying for watching football. If we stay up or go down if tickets remain the same or are more then we will see a huge decrease in sales.
  19. Personally i see this game and the QPR game as major important. We have 10 games left and after these 2 games we will have 8 games left of which only 3 are at home. After these 2 games we then go into playing Blackpool, Charlton then Watford. Those 3 games will decide our fate. So it is about where we are going into those 3 games. If we lose to Derby and Barnsley beat Birmingham will mean they go to 42 points with 2 games in hand, and their next 3 games are at home. To assume they will lose all three home games of which one is against Blackpool is unlikely to happen. Then there is Forest. They play Watford on tues, Watford are already 6 points clear of us and we need 5 points to clear Forest. If we lose to Derby and Forest beat Watford they will go 7 points clear of us meaning we would need 8 points to overtake them. Which then sets up the QPR game. On that weekend we have Barnsley vs Blackpool, Norwich vs Plymouth. Meaning if we fail to win the next 2 games we will go into playing Barnsley and Watford away and Charlton at home having to win all three games. After that period we will be down to just 5 games left. If we don't get at bare minimum 3 wins out of the next 5 we will probably have to win all of the remaining 5 games to stay up. So yes Derby game is massive. All it takes is us to lose and Barnsley,Blackpool or Forest to win and things become a lot harder.
  20. Can't say i have seen too many ****ed up monks in town recently

  22. Sorry mate but i think you couldn't be any further from the truth. DMG is up there with the worst players. I would rate players like Best, Blackstock, hell i would even say Baseya could be better. You said in a thread recently "i'm rarely wrong" well i think time will proove you wrong on this one. DMG has played nearly every minute of every game this year. He is the leagues most shooter with 99 shots. That is on average 3 shots a game. More then anyone else in the league. His goal record ratio is pitiful. he doesn't even make it into the top 20. Considering he has played more matches, played more minutes and had more shots then anyone else in this league the fact he is not in the top 20 prooves how good he is. His goal record is 8 goals and 2 of those were penalties. 6 outfield goals from a guy who has played nearly every minute of every game and has shot more times then anyone else should be scoring more then 6 times. That means his goal ratio is 12 shots before he scores. That is fecking awful. In contrast to say Surman who has 7 goals from just 45 shots (6 shots before a goal). And Surman has played in various places this year without being up front. Saga has had 24 shots and scored 6 goals (4 shots to every goal). As for the Saga has someone else up front with him comment that is so funny. I have watched all but 4 games this year. In every game i have seen DMG waste more sitters then i have seen at this club. I can not recall many if any 1 on 1 situations where DMG has burst through the defence and scored. I cannot recall many times DMG has done what Saga did at Swansea where he burried the chances clynical. Most of Surman's and Saga's goals were about ability, their ability to find space and then hit the ball with acuracy. Where as i look at the times DMG scored and remember how lucky he was and how others did all the hard work i.e Holmes' mazy run and top corner shot that DMG got a slight touch on. So sorry nickh but you must be watching a totally different player to what myself has been watching. He is a poor player who has been lucky we had no other players here.
  23. Exactly If we had lost those 3 the table would look very bad. It doesn't look too rosie now but we are in the mix. We are not dead and burried which the pundits and bookies had labelled as. The crowd is behind the team and the confidence in the players is where it should be. If we continue in the same way we have a good chance to stay up, something that 3 games ago looked very doubtful. There is a long way to go with some tough games. But i have more confidence in the lads and the manager then i have had all season. I feel positive that we will fight and give it our all until the end. Where as before it was turn up, lose, talk crap about how great we are but can't win, then repeat.
  24. I got a real bad sense of de ja vu. If i am honest i would yes. The guy has started very well but it is just that, a start. He has a lot of experience of getting teams relegated so i will not count the chickens and all that. Some of the people i travel with who i think are far more hardcore fan then me; think it could be the manager bounce that is happening, there is obviously a lot of history to proove that sometimes a change can have short term success. So for me the guy has done everything on the pitch right. But if we start to have a bad run and maybe lose a few games then how we bounce back from that is what i will judge him on. I think it was Bobby Robson who once said "It is easy when your winning, when you start to lose, that is when you find out what a manager is made of". So let's hope we don't lose and have to find out hey! The funny thing is people slate JP for his record but he did have a run of good games. The whole of September we played 5 won 2, drew 2 and lost 1. Not too different from our last 6 of won 3 lost 2 and drawn 1. I remember at that time threads like these were started then too, people like myself tried to tell them to realise that things change so fast that to assume things were going to be great and that JP was great was very very premature. Which proved right. So again i have wierd feeling of we have been here before, a bit of de ja vu. Right now the guy is doing great so if he has games like the last three then we don't need to change him with anyone, even Ferguson or Wenger. But if he replicates the 4 games prior to his wins then i have a feeling people will swap him in a heartbeat. And that is football, a results business. Win and were happy, lose a few and they call for your head
  25. Got the game today, fecking awesome. Nothing better then going back through history and actually defeating our american cousins on their soil Naval combat is one of the best thing's i have ever seen in a game. The whole water and weather effects are breathtaking. Seems to be doing very well reviews wise to, so far 93% score http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/empiretotalwar If you have a pc able to run it and you like the Total War series i recomend it. There is a demo for free on Steam at the mo. Can view the trailer here, amazing http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/empire_total-war_trailer?size=large
