Woud we be looking to buy players if about to go into administration?
St Marco replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Its in the papers now so someone must have got wind of it. As others have mentioned it really is a case of what the club want to do with Davis. He is possibly one of the big earners at the club. His contract runs out in 5 months. If we survive then chances are he will have to take a pay cut to stay and if we don't he will obviously be released. So i think the thing is would he do that? If he knows he won't be offered a new contract at this club then why wait until the summer if he can leave now and make the club some money? We have three other keepers in Bart,Poke and now Forecast. Right now Davis is in the form of his life, keepers who are like that are very hard to come by, especially cheap. So i don't think it is too far fetched at all. -
Ah i see! The fact i left out an ' in a word makes what i've said impossible to read right? Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at an Cmardibge uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, olny taht the frist and lsat ltteres are at the rghit pcleas. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by ilstef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Sorry not quite sure i understand what you mean? I said throwing insults around at other people who think the appointment of an assistant is a good idea, could make you look a tit if in a few weeks/months we remain where we are? Again i'm not quite sure what is too difficult to understand about that?

It could be a few players might be going so they might have some funds to replace them with lesser players. I think Davis going to Sunderland could be gathering some legs. Time will tell won't it. -
Hey i'm not having a go at him, far from it. The way i see it is he is the manager now and we have to support him. I myself would have gone with an english manager like Boothroyd but the club have decided appointing the reserve coach is the best way to go. Results will show if it is a good or bad decision. One thing is for certain is that we will persist with the dutch method, one that Wotte introduced, he is not new to the club. With 17 games left we can't afford to lose the 50% of games we have, we must win more then we lose or were be down for sure. Come the end of the season will come the time to judge him and throwing remarks around at other posters not right now, because if he continues the run off 1 win in 12 games that were on then your look a bit of a tit won't you

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11296 Guess someone forgot to tell him we have no cash?

100% agree. The past managers and club have treated him awful. If you kept being shipped out to another job every 6 months and then were told to do a different job to the one your familiar with you would be ****ed too. This season i felt Skacel has done well and has tried a hell of a lot, more then what Wotte says today. He should be played on the left as in our promotion chasing season he was our top assister....

19p a share.... Didn't SISSU offer 50p a share or something?

How many do you expect to turn up for the protest saturday?
St Marco replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
I'll be there with 4 other people too. I figure i can sit on my ass behind a keyboard and ***** about whats happening at the club everyday or i can bother to join the comrades in trying to show our opinions in person to the board. I don't expect there to be thousands of people at the start of the march, maybe only a few hundred. But as the march goes on i am sure lots of people who are shopping or whatever will join in when they hear what it is about. Such is the passion amongst the community for our club. So no doubt we're have a few hundred or so and then after the game we're get home to read the same people *****ing about the club and *****ing about the march while they sit on their ass behind a computer screen doing nothing to help anyone but themselves. The interesting thing is the march is being passed around by word of mouth. Only a tiny tiny % of Saints fans bother to use this forum, if you look at one of the facebook groups they have over 2000 people on it, a far cry from the hundred or so who have voted on here. Add to this it is being covered by the media means it has the potential to become important. -
Derby and Doncaster both have a game in hand on us too which just makes needing a win today even more vital. The draw favours Norwich more then us because they are ahead of us and keep the same gap. We needed to claw points back against them. If you also look at Forest your see they are now 6 points ahead of us. To get that gap they had to win 4 of their last 5 league games and go on a only one loss in last 9 to get there. If we are to survive that is the type of run we need. That shows just how hard it is now going to be to survive.

As LTC says any other day and would be a fine result but pretty much all the other results have now gone against us. A few months ago when we had 4 weeks without winning and all other results went our way i said that will come back to haunt us and it looks like it is. We now need 4 points to get out of the drop zone and this was a must win game. Table now looks like 17th Forest 33 pts 18th Barnsley 32 pts 19th Norwich 30 pts 20th Watford 30 pts 21st Doncaster 30 pts ------------------------ 22nd Derby 29 pts 23rd Saints 27 pts 24th Charlton 22 pts Doncaster have a game in hand too The boys did well to come back and deserve credit but i think this shows to the regime that 4-4-2 does work and they have made a massive mistake denying it does. So credit to Wotte for changing it but by that logic you also have to criticise him for going for a defensive set-up to start with when we have the worst defensive record in the league. Next 3 games are even more massive now, we have to win and hope others lose.

He made £2.4m last year alone http://www.thisishampshire.net/news/hampshirenews/3741343.Hampshire_bosses_pocket_fortune_despite_financial_meltdown/

I guess you go back and re-read it then because he says "I thought mine was a good proposal – it would have enabled us to get rid of our overdraft and give ourselves a fighting chance of bringing in some experienced players and an experienced English manager". He says he will put £2m of his own money into the club. He would of been able to get the books down and get a manager in. If you continue to read it he also says "The time was right to act. “The three of us are the top three shareholders – we should all be putting our money in" So as far as i can see we have one guy willing to put money into the club. He wants to put money into the club but can't. Why can't he? "I put my proposals to them but they obviously didn’t accept them because they went and put Mark Wotte in charge," said Crouch. “Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde have made their decision, now they have to live with it. “Now we have to get behind the new manager, we have to give him a chance" So why did they reject his money offer then? Because i think everyone knows we need money right? Would not taking money help our situation? So you can cry a river all you like but the facts are the facts, Crouch is trying to get money into the club either his own or from other people. Lowe and Wilde have said they will leave if £6m is paid off on the debt. Crouch says as one of the 3 shareholders he will pay his share £2m but the other 2 have to pay theirs too. Which they won't. So we have a guy trying hard to help sort the club out, even meeting with Lowe and Wilde to try and go forward. But of course they were not interested. For them it is a personel thing, they have never done anything decent for this club. They are leeaches just waiting for some blood to make them fat, once they have sucked it dry they will move onto the next one.
-
I think Lowe does the site himself these days
-
He is more succesful at business then Lowe and Wilde put together. Crouch is a fan of the club and has in the past already put his hand in his pockets. Lowe and Wilde have never done that in the 12 years combined they have had at this club. Crouch could buy out either of thems shares but what would the point in that be? That would not benefit the club just the two greedy bastards who are holding out for their last pay cheque. If he puts £2million into the club and gets a good manager (i heard he had spoke to Boothroyd) and maybe a few decent buys, loans then our fortunes on the pitch could change. If we then survived next season we can rebuild again. But the problem is Lowe and Wilde are sticking to their guns, they don't want to abandon this dutch system they have chosen. And the fact they have rejected the proposal of money makes me question if Barclays will allow them to remain in control. Crouch said he would pay off the overdraft, they would obviously love that. Lowe and Wilde will have to explain why they rejected it to them. Crouch is anything but stupid. If i were in his financial position i would do the same thing. I would rather put my money into the club knowing it would help the club rather then help the board.
-
Agree but he is good friends with Lowe so would expect something like that. He will be judged on results not what he says and having a go at the fans before you have even had 1 game is a very stupid thing to do.

The Single Most Important Thing Of All Time Ever
St Marco replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
So your way of doing things is to wait until it is too late then complain about it? Bit like buying something that breaks then wait until the warranty runs out before returning it isn't it? The fans have been behind the team the whole season, you should go to more games rather then listen to them on the radio. -
Thank you for the spelling lesson.

Massive period of games for us in the next 12 days. Tues 27th = Norwich away Sat 31st = Swansea home Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home Sat 7th Feb = Watford away The Norwich and Watford games are massive games. If we fail to win those 2 games i think we have to honestly say were probably down. Of those 4 games it is hard to say if were win any. Norwich are doing better then they were, Swansea have now just beaten the unbeaten league record and are one of the in form teams, Sheff Utd are unbeaten in i think 10 games having won the last 5. Watford are the same as us and are in poor form, havent won in last 5 games. That game could potentially be gigantic. So my heart says were win 3 of the 4 and get out of the drop zone but i think were draw against Norwich, and Swansea and lose to Sheff Utd and Watford. Which i think will probably have us 6 points or so adrift.
-
Basically said the club needs to be united as a non stable club will always struggle. Said that everyone is blaming everyone else, should just support the team. Says he thinks we will survive the drop quite easily as the gap between the relegation zone and being out of it is just 1 point. Says we beat teams who are now 2nd 3rd and 4th (which we actually havent as we drew with Sheff Utd and beat Birmingham in the cup). And that was it, Chris Perry just said the players will try hard to get out of this situation

Demonstration for Swansea game- Time and place!!
St Marco replied to scott_saints's topic in The Saints
As far as i'm aware they cannot do anything if you join in on a demonstration. Reason i think this is because teachers strike and protest when they want a pay rise. Therefore if it was against their rules surely anyone who protested for a pay rise would be removed? A demonstration against the runnings of something so important to the community as our football club i doubt would mean you get removed. If you went there with intentions of violence then sure. But it is a local thing, i know a doctor will be joining the march and somehow i doubt they would remove her because of it.
