  1. Well you can call it a different name but it is still the same thing. Jan currently is employed as Southampton FC Head Coach but if you asked him if he were the manager of the club he will say yes. Wotte is the reserve team head coach. Head coach and manager are the same thing. The only difference is a manager in name gets more control over things such as buying players but looking at the Benitez saga i wonder if even that is true. Having lived in america before i know Head Coach is more in line with their sports, just they also have a general manager of the franchise. At the end of the day Jans job is to get the club winning game, same as a manager, just somehow i doubt he has any say in any of the things off the field hence why he has been called a head coach.
  2. would not be surprised if Jan will be pushed back into a coaching role maybe assistant manager while Wotte takes over as manager. Which would just mean a different yes man in charge playing the same way we already are. I just can't see Lowe firing Jan, moving him to coach while promoting your reserve manager seems more his style.
  3. While i question the credibility of the source (nothing personel just we have seen it all over the past few years) i think it could be inevitible sooner rather then later. The one thing we know for sure is this club is in debt, a lot of it. We also know that our income and outcome are not level i.e we are still losing money. Add to this we have smaller and smaller gate receipts, the return of a few higher paid players (Saga) would lead us to believe we are still losing money. The fact no bids have come in for any players could mean the chances are we won't be selling anyone in the window. Which is good for us but bad for the finances. Mix all that up and you get the picture the club is losing more money then we are making. That is nothing new, what is new is the people we owe money to are themselves now starting to feel the pressure of the financial climate. Barclays have had to axe over 4000 jobs recently and saw their shares fall 25% in the past week alone, not good news. If they are in the **** then all those who owe them a lot of cash will probably be having pressure put on them to pay up. The way things are going with our club you don't need to be the head of a bank to realise chances are you probably won't be seeing your cash coming back anytime soon. So while i doubt it will be that soon if we stay on our current course it will obviously lead to admin. We are not the only ones though.
  4. A list of different circumstances. Some managed in a different league, some managed with lots of money to spend and some didn't.
  5. As i've said before people trying to blame the fans for our situation is complete an utter rubbish. As you say Ron it is just an excuse by people to try and deflect from the current goings on at the club. The Doncaster game is basically the catalyst for having sat suffering in silence since having avoided relegation last year. It was going to happen eventually.

  7. Mate i'm talking in general. Everytime he goes on the bbc, talks to the echo etc.. he is said to be the official spokesmen. He can tell them he is not. But if he does that, does it make what he is saying newsworthy and printable? No. Because official spokesmen turns into babbling Saints fan, nobody will bother showing/printing that would they. Nick is entitled to his opinion, everyone is. But sometimes some common sense would go a long way. Nobody wants to see people protesting, it isn't good for people, but we did things his way, we spent 28 games sat cheering the lads on without any slight hint of unrest except for the occasional boo's. He can't have it both ways. As far as i'm concerned bar this one game the Saints fans both home and away have been great, they are not the problem they did their part, they are entitled to voice their concerns in a way it will get heard. We did his way and where did it bring us?
  8. Personally i think enough is enough from Nick Illingsworth. So many times he acts as if he speaks for the fans but yet i've never really met many who share his views. Like his last piece a few months ago. You know the one where he said the fans were to blame for the loses because we didn't get behind the team, remember that one? Here is another one similar to that. He can "understand" the fans being unhappy to lose to Forest but can't "understand" their behaviour after losing to Doncaster because we had a win the previous week to Barnsley.....Is it just me who doesn't quite "understand" that? So it's ok to riot when we have a few loses but when we lose after having a win rioting is wrong?! Nick mate as i said to you waaaaaay back near the start of the season. I said Lowe coming back will do nothing but to divide the fans, we finished last season as a club together. Lowe comes back, Pearson goes and once more were divided. I said by going into the 3rd quarter of the season if we are in the relegation zone and losing to teams around us it will get ugly for the board and manager. We pay a lot of money to watch this team and a lot like me have travelled all over to do so. If you keep losing games you will get relegated. What baffled me the most is you actually thought that if we kept going that way "the fans should take it and keep supporting the club without protesting". It does not take a genius to work out that the momment Lowe returned a lot of people have had it in for him. Reason for that is because of his decisions that eventually lead to our relegation and brought us to where we are now. Your view was and is Lowe could do a lot of good for the club. Well roll on over a year and we look the worse we have ever been. You get so much wrong and seem so out of touch with the actual real fans that i wonder are you actually for real or are you just a wind up merchant? As far as i'm concerned you are a Lowe supporter and always have been, and for that reason alone that makes you out of touch with the real fans. Next time you talk to the bbc or itv local news orsomeone please don't tell them your our official spokesmen because your not. You speak for yourself and your view is your own.
  9. Think unveiling Jan at a press conference as our new manager while he was a manager for another club who had no clue he was leaving has to be up there.
  10. we signed him on a free from the recommendation of someone at Stoke City apparently Seriously though i do find it quite funny that he has been with 7 clubs already and has played 20 games in total. That means he plays on average 2.8 games for a club then moves. I wonder why that is?
  11. What i don't get is why the fook have we brought in so many dutch people? I have nothing against dutch people but surely we should of waited to see if it is working before we bring in more of them to help? I overheard a guy at the game say we had something like 8 dutch people at the club now? If/when Jan goes and we get a new guy in then they will probably all be booted out which again means we lose even more money.
  12. When people have a go at Lowe his supporters or even himself will say he is cutting costs which had to be done. Think all of us can agree that we had to cut costs. However because he is not popular with the local population would that not mean that he is actually bringing in a lot less money then what we could be bringing in? Therefore he is actually making us lose a potentially vast amount of money too? Wouldn't then removing Lowe from the club be seen as cost cutting too? If you get what i mean.
  13. Never read the People so have no clue if they are credible or not, guessing from what some of you are saying then they are not. However of all the people in our team Davis is the only player i feel would make us worse by losing. Surman and Lallana have potential but in all honesty they have looked worse then average this year. The fact nobody has come in for them yet to me says they are probably considered overrated by the other clubs. I can't see Kelvin leaving however as mentioned his contract is up at end of the year, that means he can talk to clubs now about a potential bosman transfer. If he knows the club will not retain him in the summer due to his wages then i could see him going now to try and get some cash for us. But the reality is if we lose him the cash would be pointless as we would be relegated for sure (if we are not already) so as generous as that would be it would actually seal our fate i think.
  14. well he has played 18 starts and 2 subs appearences so seeing as we played 28 games im guessing a fair few times
  15. Am i the only one thinking he is not the same player he was in his first few games for us? I don't mean to jump on the guys back but i can't help but feel a bit dissapointed in the lad. He started so well for us but has in all fairness looked a shadow of what he did in his first few games. He seems so dis-interested and has been that way for sometime now. Nobody can deny the guy has potential but i don't think we see it as much as we did. The same could be said for a lot of players but if your midfielders plays like he has been playing then things don't go so well. Maybe time for someone else to be given a chance?
  16. Yeah i was pretty angry when i read that bit. It was like he was saying were glory hunters or something....I'm sure those i go to the games with will agree with me that winning is important but were so used to losing that even when losing we still support the team. Was pretty crazy that he said that, maybe it was him having a bit of a dig at those who chanted for him to **** off?
  17. Well we have won just one game in our last 11, as much as i want to say were win xyz i can't see it playing in this way in this system. Norwich is a massive game, lose and i don't think were recover unless something changes. I think that now. As Keith once said on S4E the players looklike their going through the motions. So i think of the 15 points were get 2 from 2 draws, probably the Swansea game and Sheff Utd game. The thing that worries me is that 7 of our last 9 home games are against all teams within 5 points of the promotion places. Only 2 games against teams outside the top 10 (Derby/Charlton)
  18. Lets be honest here 28 games, 14 loses, 6 wins. 1 win at home 7 loses. Are any of you really surprised that people are protesting? As far as i'm concerned it was overdue. The team has been complete garbage, the manager has been complete garbage but most of all the board has been complete garbage. I don't like seeing people get hurt, it is wrong and the people who do it are stupid. But i don't blame them for the way they are feeling, i don't think they are wrong for venting their anger at the manager/players and board. In all honesty of over 20 years watching our club play this team is truely awful with some of the worst players i have ever seen. Add to that a crap manager and a **** of a board for those 27 games the fans for the majority of it have been world class. They have supported the lads and not sang anything too vocal against them the manager or board. Even when we were losing 0-3 to watford they still supported the lads. But we have now lost 2 games in the space of 2 weeks against teams around us (below us) at home and put in quite awful performances. Enough is enough. I don't blame the fans one bit, what has happened in the space of the past 12 months has brought this on. The fact it took so long is what surprises me.
  19. Basically i think its the same as last season when Burley left. We need someone who will rip into the players when they don't perform. The nice nice aproach is right majority of the time when you bring in young unexperienced players, players who come on for like the last 20 mins or so of a game. But really this club has to stay up or it is over. The players have to realise if they go 0-1 down they can't just go "ah right well there is always next week". That mentality is what i warned about in pre-season. If you have that view your eventually run out of games, and that is what we have here. The start of the season passed into quarter of a season, then half a season and now we have just 18 games left. 9 of which are home games. 7 of those 9 games are against teams within the top 10 only 5 points from promotion spot. That tells you what we are up against. The 2 other games are Derby and Charlton which are gigantic games. So in my view we need someone in the Pearson mould, someone who will get the team playing as a team and make us hard to beat. We can't score goals, as much as we want to be an attacking team were not. We need to get back to traditional english football not this tip tap non effective **** from Holland. Someone like Boothroyd,Ince or Pardew could do that. But i just can't see any of them working with Lowe even if they did want to come here which lets be honest is unlikely, would you want to come here?
  20. Welcome to this side of the fence nick Seriously though your 100% right. We need a guy who knows the english game and knows this league. Jan has had what 28 games now? And in that time i actually don't think he has learnt anything. The sad thing is if you look at the squad we are not far from an ok squad. If i could chose i would do this .......................Davis...................... Moleynuex....Perry....Roni Size.....James ..................................................... Skacel.....Morgan....Surman.......Holmes .................................................... ................Saga.......BWP................ Obviously you can change people about i.e Moleyneux and James, Holmes and Skacel but you get my point. On paper that is not a bad team. Deffinatly not a relegation battling team. If we can get in a guy who knows the game and knows that this league is physical where piling balls into the box is sometimes the best tactic then were be better off. It is like Davies at Forest, he has taken worse players and just made them do the basics, the same can be said for other teams. Boothroyd would be a man to do that. But we know what will happen. If Lowe does decide to remove Jan he will just put Wotte in then when were down blame it on Jan etc..
  21. In the first half i actually thought we were alright, did some good moves which created some chances. The only problem is DMG fecking missed them all again. The pattern was like this We shoot! its over the bar... We shoot! its near the corner flag....We shoot! we take out a flood light etc.. etc.. where as Doncaster is like, They shoot! Davis saves, They shoot! Davis pulls out a worldclass save!, They Shoot! Davis saves. That is not just the pattern for this game but pretty much all the games. Second half we didn't come out, guess the players were checking their phones for transfer news or something. After we went 0-1 down we just went into our shell, which was further worsened by Jan the clueless man taking off Perry to make the midfield even more congested. Doncaster then just went into defence mode and we couldn't do anything. There second goal was pretty good move, one that we should of been doing. That then sparked the crowd and i was right next to where the protests were at Jan. His reaction to me just summed up the man, a little look and a smarmy smile. The type that makes you know he won't be quitting. You know the "haha i'm untouchable, shout all you want". And to be fair it is true. Lowe won't fire him because it will be him admitting he was wrong, and he won't walk as this is is big chance, i doubt many of us would do it either if we were in that situation. However i think this is the game that majority of people decided enough is enough, Jan has to go as does Lowe. But as much as we chant/shout it wont make any difference. We have been here before. The only way they are going is if someone comes in with money or if we go under. We have now lost to 2 of the teams around us at home in the space of a few weeks. We did not play great and we did not deserve to win. Davis has done what Davis has been doing all season and saving shots and doing it very well. Where as we just can't get ours anywhere near the target. Lallanas shot near the end as well as DMG header just sum us up. We get the ball 35-40 yards out and they see pound signs in the goalies eyes and go for it which goes major wide, goes over the bar by a few hundred feet or it rolls tame to the keeper. As that guy Andy Gray always says "if you don't hit the target how will you score? If you miss the target so much is it being unlucky or just poor finishing?", and even the most biased of fan has to say our finishers are poor. Saga to his credit looked ok, better then last week for sure, if we were going to score it would be because of him. If we had John and Saga playing we would score more goals for sure. DMG is just a waste. I have not even looked at the table as i can imagine its bad. One thing is for sure lose/draw at Norwich and were pretty much down. As much as the deluded try so hard to say they are right after flukey win against Barnsley we have 5 losses to every win. We are where we are because over 28 games we deserve to be there, we are playing crap, we are crap. Question is that because of the players or the system they are asked to play by the manager?
  22. Hate to say i told you so but i told you so. The guy is a complete **** who fails to not only tell things as they are but fails to accept any responsibility at all. When asked why he changed the tactics by taking off Perry he says "It was a tactical decision that meant we could put Morgan in front of the 3 at the back, we had to do it because you know that is what we had to do". This is just one example of thousands of the guy struggling to come up with a reason, he tries to baffle you with his logic by saying "we had to do it" etc.. but in reality he did not have to do it he chose to do it. It didn't work and we lost. Has he accepted any blame for any of the 22 games we failed to win? No he hasen't. The guy has no dignity and has lost the respect he had. He comes out and says the fans are wrong for having a go at him and having the chants/demos etc.. sends the message we must get behind the club. Jan the fans are behind the club, they just aren't behind you, when your gone and have returned back to your hole in Holland this club will still be here, maybe not in name but it will still be here, and were be here too. Do us all a favour and **** off you useless sack of ****.
  23. In my opinion it is about the message rather then the money. Each of these clubs are only doing what they are doing because they have someone with a lot of cash able to do it. That money has not come from within the clubs, has not been made in the clubs. It sends out the message that if your not a super rich club with some guy with billions of pounds behind you then you won't get anywhere. It means the leagues become harder and harder for teams to win that don't have that sort of backing. And the worst factor of all is that it could mean the rise of football ticket prices. At a time where people have less money to spend. Any business person knows that every boom has a bust and football brings itself nearer to it everytime things like this happens. As Wenger says how can you have inflated prices in a deflation period? Look at F1. The two are very different but they have a similar situation. The cost of being in F1 goes up so teams who don't have much money eventually get pushed out. You have your main teams Mclaren,Ferarri,Renault. The rest of the teams know that breaking into those top ranks means they have to spend more and more money and even then that doesn't gurantee you will. F1 had its mega bucks days and now it is in decline. Bernie and the people at F1 are trying hard to bring the costs of running in F1 down and make it more competative, more equal. Naturally the big teams don't like that but that is what has to be done, why? because it is all about the spectators. People don't want to watch the same team win week after week with the also rans struggling to make up the numbers. Football has to follow suit or it will just go the same way as F1. People will grow tired of having to pay so much to watch a team get beat by so much. But the clubs have no choice but to charge that because they need the money to try and keep up. That in turn makes the spectacle of it worth less. If you allow a club to pay £100m for a player then it is just a matter of time before it turns to £200m, then £300m. As i mentioned the only reason they are paying that money is because they have 1 guy who has that money, not because the club has the money or has earnt that money. Kaka is a quality player but the message is simple. Who has the most money wins. Football should not be about money in that way. That is why i think they need to bring in the salary cap now. Football has a dark future ahead and it has been a longtime coming. Eventually one of these guys will walk from these clubs. Because they either got bored or died or something, then what happens? Who will foot the massive bills left behind?
  24. I think now is the time for something to be done from the football organisations. How can you have clubs spending £100m on a player when they are something like £800m in debt, if these sugar daddies get bored and bail those clubs will all go bust. Surely the whole point of things such as the FA are to protect the future of the game? It is a joke
  25. Massive game. 2 poor teams strugling. We were very lucky in the 1st game what with the own goal and the penalty. Hopefully we get the same luck again! So i'm also going for a 2-0 win to Saints Just hope the lads don't bottle it, a loss really will put us in the ****
