Just back from the game. First things first i have to laugh at those saying good peformance....was i at the same game? We were poor and so were they. If we had been there until next saturday playing we wouldnt have scored a goal. DMG missed some horendous shots, ones that BWP would of been slated for. Lallana had a free goal and somehow totally fooked up the header. People praising Wotten have no clue. He was sat in front of the back 4 supposedly meant to be in the holding roll. Doncaster just punted it over him the whole of the first half and if it wasen't for Davis again would of conceeded many. The defence was just a joke. 2nd half it was the same. Except this time for the first time that i can remember in so long we finally got some luck in the shape of an own goal and a penalty that never was. Thankfully it was not the other way around as i think if it was Doncaster who got that bit of luck they would of won. It was that type of game were i feel both teams were so poor neither deserved to win, it was always going to be a own goal or penalty that seperated the sided. And you know what? I will take that!! I dont care if it flys in off a players ass and into the top corner a goal is a goal and while their fans will bemoan the ref (who was **** to be fair) it is about time we had some things go in our favour for a change. So while i have no doubt the deluded will come out in force and proclaim the second coming of christ etc.. this was a peformance that if was put in against anyone above the top say 15 would of been a hammering. Especially if Davis was not in form. But we will take it! So the players done well and a win is a great result for us but they need to do better especially in terms of shooting. Lets hope this win gives the team a bridge to build from and gives them confidence to go into the next 4 games and get some results.

I loved Gears but can easily see why some would hate it. I think it is actually the only game to win game of the year for two years in a row, which is odd. Personally i think it has to be Resistance followed by Warhawk. I just couldnt get into them. I liked Battlefield 2 so maybe that is why i hated Warhawk as just seemed like a cheap spin off or something. Also i might get a bit of flak for this one but i also hate the Mario and Halo series'. I remember playing Super Mario Bros on the NES and it was quality. But since then i have just never appreciated the follow ups. And Halo well, i'm not into some guy in a space suit fighting on wierd platforms hovering around the earth.

You forget we had all the possesion and had far more shots then they did (i think Lowe must be working for Opta stats on the other 5 days he has off).

Naturally some of the clubs he was linked to is ********, it is something that happens daily. However in this instance i fail to believe a single club was not interested in him. I could be wrong here but i would guess another reason better clubs didn't come in for him was because they might have had to pay compensation. If Leon Best comp was set at £650k then i could imagine Dyer's would be simmilar. And it was widely reported Strachan was interested in him, the question is was it just rumour like so much these days or fact? Guess were never know.

Well the evidence thus far points to you talking ****. The fact of the matter is only he knows how much he is on and those he has told. You can't claim that he is not on 8k a week and preach everyone is wrong simply because you say so. That is hypocritical. Back it up with reasons as to why he isn't, don't just insult people you baby. Reality is i can assure you he will be earning a lot closer to 8k a week then your estimated 4k.

But the point which clearly went above your head is not the actual figure of the contract but the fact a new contract was signed. It could be 50p a week and the point would remain the same. But just to bury your point of view a little more i actually know someone in the club and know for 100% fact he used to be on a 4k deal which he supposedly signed only 2 seasons ago (granted he was doin better then). Add to that it is common knowledge he rejected 2 "increased" offers from the club. After the second he was not allowed to train with the first team. Now ask yourself do you really really think they would of offered him the same 4k deal he was already on? And if they had would he have accepted it? Obviously not. Add to this fact other clubs were supposedly interested in him with the main one being Strachan at Celtic saying he was interested. Of course you probably already knew that. So if you look at it your see my comments had foundations that are common knowledge. But it will be interesting to hear where yours come from?

Looks like BWP will be our winger now then as we have Peckhart,Lallana,DMG,John and now Robertson up front. Cant really see BWP getting a game up front now. So looks like he will be as predicted a winger for us now.

Indeed. It is a shame as Michal Dolinajec or Oscar Gobern could of been given the same chance. I dislike Dyer, think he is a truely awful player that has 1 attribute and that is pace. BUT in this instance i wonder why we have swapped him for a striker. Scoring goals is not our problem, it is creating the chances to score from, especially clear cut ones. Adding a striker who from what i hear from my United friend is very injury prone and might be injured now does not make sense. In fact it reminds me of when Burley went striker loopy when we needed defenders badly. Plus why did we give Dyer a rumoured new 8k-10k a week contract if he was not happy here? Or why did he accept it? As you mention the games he has played he has looked awful, a player with zero confidence and just doesnt look interested. Maybe a period away from the club might do him some good, get him away from the wana play gangster element he has found himself in and get his head down and re-find the player he was a season or 2 ago. As for Jordan i appreciate JP's remarks but he is looking more and more like a puppet for Lowe with each passing day.

I'm ok with him being motm as long as we win. Hell i would be cool with Lowe putting on his boots and being motm as long as he scored a hattrick and we win! Also i think some people have missed the point of the post somewhat. The point is who is a better player ON THE WING and has the most potential/skill/talent out of the two players. If we could picky anybody to be on the wing i think i would be picking either Ronaldo or Messi, hell i would take 99% of the wingers out there over what we got right now. But the question remains the same; if we had him in the squad (Hammill) and we had a winger problem (which we sort of do) then who would you rather out there?

no no (i would too) it is an argument me and nickh are having, he thinks BWP is a better player then Hammil and talks as if that would be the norm amonsgt the football fans. This is simply to see if it is true people think BWP is a better player/prospect/talent then Hammill is. I would put up a poll but i don't know how so maybe mods could do it! No other player to choose from just those 2!

I do rate Hammil and can see he actually has not only pace but knows how to cross the ball. I forget how many times i have been in frustration at a wasted pass by either Dyer or BWP. BWP is not even worth talking about, 1 good game in 50 does not make a footballer. You give me the amount of games he has had and i bet i would shine in 1 game too. So yes we do have our moments but i wonder if we had a poll who would people prefer either Hammil or BWP on the wing i think it would be a landslide victory for Hammil. In fact lets find out!

As i have said before Lallana is by far and large our hot prospect, the guy has something special about him. In my opinion so does Schneiderlin, sure he hasen't played as well recently but from what i have seen i know he will become a very good player. Holmes is a player who is just average. In the game against Blackpool they had Hammill and he picked us apart for the 1st 20 mins or so before he got crippled. Then we got Dyer and BWP. 2 players who are possibly the most overated players we have seen in many many years. They both have bags of pace but nothing else. This is football not a 100m sprint race. Gillet is another hit and miss player, 1 week he looks great, the next week he looks ****. BUT while i am being harsh on them i don't mean to be because they are young and need time, they have been thrown in at the deep end. Next season they will be better then this season, question is will that be in the ccc or in league 1? If you take both Morgan and Adam out of the team and Davis it looks a very very poor team. Maybe mid table league 1 quality.

The difference being Spurs have players who are proven good players while still being young. Bentley,Lennon,Jenas,Bent,Dawson,Santos,Pavlyuchenko,Huddlestone,Hutton etc.. We all knew those players were good players before this season started. But the main thing is Spurs have Ramos as their manager. They will no doubt go on to be a great team this season. Do we have players that have the ability to get us out of the mess we are in? Right now i can't see it. Do we have a manager who is proven at getting teams to win cups? Obviously no. And this is the problem. People are expecting players like Wotten to be Jenas type material....

Well like last season in my predictions i have been kind to us, i said we would win 0-4 against Rotheram. Thus i will be wrong with this one too! However we and Doncaster look very similar. We both have let in goals, we both have lost a lot of games and we both beat Derby away. I have to be honest here and say i think Doncaster will be going down this year. The question is who is going with them? If we play like tues then we deserve to. The worst case scenario is that they win as do Palace and Derby because that would mean we would already be 3 points adrift. Then we go into playing hard games against Norwich/Coventry/Watford/Sheff Utd. Of those 4 games i cant see us getting anything at all in honesty. So we must beat teams around us to stand a chance of stopping a gap opening. So i think the players will be up for this one, they have to be. 0-2 Saints win

no, Lowe is supposedly meant to have cashed in on the add-ons when he came back so i doubt they owe us anything now. Was a little bit before my time. Still i wonder how that team would fare today. Obviously most would be sent off before half time, think i would still pay to see that though!

They are the least skilled bunch i think i have seen at the club. Last seasons players bottled it, they didn't even turn up. However the season before that the same team got to the playoffs which shows when they do turn up they can be good. I can't see this team being anywhere other then bottom 3 right now.

Personally i disagree strongley Feeing for your life = clever Paying near £30 to go watch a reserve side get beat easily = not clever This is the one thing which iritates me more then anything is people think the club is like a charity, if you don't go (donate) you must be someone who doesn't believe in that cause. Which is total ********. I go to the games because i am from Southampton. I love the club and i have this hope that things will get better, that "soon it must be our turn to be good?" attitude. I had it at the dell and i still have it now. No doubt i will still have it in league 1 and 2. However i do not look at the people i used to go to the games with who stopped going and think they are any less of a fan then me. I never think they are "abandoning" the team because they decide it isn't worth spending a few hundred trecking to some hole up north to watch us get beat. I didn't go to the cup game, i'm sure lots of us didn't. But i'm glad i didn't go as we played awful and i saved myself best part of £150. That money is useful in other places now. As i said i really hate it when people slag off our fans for not turning up, especially when it is normally by people who rarely go to home games and go to maybe 1 away game every few years. The reality is the clubs management has been run so poor that fatigue has set in amongst the fans. The Premiership 4 years ago looked a possibility. Now it looks like we will be in league 1 next year and further away then ever. The players on the pitch are probably the least skilled bunch i have ever seen at the club. Last years players were bad but the season before that they got to the playoffs, so at least we saw them play well for 1 season. This group are just crap. Add to that we have 2 very un-popular people running the club and they are running it badly. Add to that we have no big name players in the team anymore (except John). And add to that all the outside football problems such as the cost of everything going up. Morale in our club amongst fans is very bad. The fans who did go up to Rotheram in the end i feel the most bad for and no doubt some of them have now reached the same conclusion as me. Which is "Why am i paying hundreds of pounds to travel miles away to the middle of nowhere to watch us be beat by a team i remember being **** a few seasons ago and they are still **** now?" If you went into Mcdonalds and asked for a big mac and they gave you 1 bun and 1 burger and charged you full price would you keep going back to mcdonalds and thinking that is a great deal. Or would you be realistic and think to yourself "Hang on im being charged £3 for something that doesnt looklike the picture on the menu and should cost about 50p!" That is the reality. As Exit says there is only so much fans can take, you can only treat them like idiots for so long. The club is falling apart, has no direction, has **** players and a very bleak future. With all this to expect the fans to shut up and put up to me just sounds like you don't go to the games because if you did you would realise in just the 1st 7 games why you have wasted so much money for nothing. Humans are not moths, we might be attracted to the flames the same as them but once we get burnt we learn not to do it again.

People forget we have actually brought in 9 players this season. That has to be the most in one pre-season? The question is who brought them in? Who chose them and who decides if they play? My view is this season is worst then last season but unlike last season it is not the players fault. It is like my nephews local under 10's. I cant watch them and expect them to be the best in the world simply because i want them to be. They are what they are and they need time to grow up and learn to play football. It is the same as our team, they have been pushed into the spotlight and paraded as our only option which is just pure ********. If you look at the statistics of how many professional footballers end up with no contract at a club at the end of every season it is very very high. There are players out there who are unused at clubs or are on free's that cold be used. We chose players like that ourself i.e Wotten,Perry etc.. We have also taken on some loan players and they have been poor decisions.We have swapped players like Ifil (in the league 1) for players like Gasmi who are injured. These are decisions that were made and were made by either Wilde or Lowe. They are bad decisions and ones which come end of may will be looked at. Why have we brought in players who are injured when were told players like Savage are about to loan? And so on. Since Lowe has returned things have gone from bad to worse and the truth has become even harder to find out. The players can only play to their levels, to expect them to be something they are not is unfair.

The difference is the boot boy looked like he had halted the slide Burley had started us on. Lowe has returned and made it worse then it has ever been. I don't care if your Lowe's rectum buddy or something but even the most biased of Lowe supporters have to agree we have plumited since he has returned. Burley had it easy and nobody can deny that. Pearson came in and got the same results Burley had with a lot less. If he had been given the same resources Burley had i have no doubt we would of been promoted. JP has not been here long so it is unfair to slag him off as much but he has played now 7 games in the league. Of those 7 games we have 5 points. If you take Pearsons first 7 games he had 8 points. That is 15th in the league right now. Of those 7 games he lost 1 compared to JP's 5. So not only do you talk **** facts you obviously have no clue about the clubs recent history so thus must be a wind up merchant. Also i thought the mods said if you called anyone names i.e Lord Lowe,Boot Boy again you would be banned?
