  1. Have to say i agree. I have a season ticket so makes no difference to me but i always think why are the tickets so expensive. You got half the stadium empty so that is a lot of potential money being thrown away. If you sold tickets for £10 those seats would probably be full and our financial situation would get better. Is it just spite that they don't do that?
  2. Personally i want us to be a good team that plays well and wins more then they lose. The hope of that is what keeps me going to games. However right now and for the past few seasons i am happy to just win even if it is an own goal and we look ****. We need points and im not picky about how we get them!
  3. I know almost zero about computers mate but i'd have a look at http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/spore-technical-support/ Maybe someone has the same problem on there
  4. The9 some very good points there but lets not go overboard about PES Be a Pro. They had it so you can lock in 1 position in the controler set-up page by moving the little assit bar thing down to 1 bars. All that meant is you can play a game as 1 player. If your talking about that then why have you not mentioned Fifa 94-95 where you could do that or even Total Football where you could do that? The difference is EA have taken that element and changed it. They have made it so you can have a career where if you play well you might get bought. But by playing well also means you might get picked for the national team. The Be a Pro of Fifa is very very different from that of PES and it is laughable to even try and compare the two. I have not played PES09 so i can't pass judgement on that game yet, but i have played Fifa 09 and to me it is very similar to last years. Normally that would be a bad thing for me but this time they have actually fixed the things that annoyed me and made the game better. The new features are fun. Most of my friends who love PES series have agreed Fifa 09 is better then last year and there is no comparison to PES08. If Konami want to get back to the golden days where they had the best football game on the planet (4/5) then they need to start changing things and actually listen to people. They have changed little over the years and this year all the comments i have seen point to another failure. Another year where they promise xyz but do nothing. The problem with PES is since it has turned into a game released every year it has struggled. They need to take it away and spend as long as it takes to create the perfect game. 2K will be entering the fray soon with their new football game and if it is like their NBA games then PES is in even further trouble. As you mentioned nobody should be writing off PES09 without even playing it as that is just silly. Get the demo/rent it and decide for yourself if you like it. Some people love games others hate. I loved Fight Night (mainly because i box) but others hated it and it got like 70% reviews etc.. The one good thing about PES and Fifa is they push each other to make better games. Without PES im sure EA would just churn out the same game every year still.
  5. Far too soon to even be thinking of a new manager. If however that day comes i don't think it will make an ounce of difference whoever is in charge. The only way we will escape the circle we are in is to remove Lowe,Wilde and Crouch once and for all. We need a whole new set up rather then just cover over the cracks time and time again. I would have picked Davies over both Jan and Pearson but with the squad we have now i can't see it suiting his style.
  6. Very true But having expectations of being out of relegation trouble in the CCC is realistic. Someone who thinks we are doing well and should not complain that we are there is obviously no Saints fan. A club of our size should not be in the mess we are, fact.
  7. The presenter is right! We should all go to the games and be happy we have Lowe and have "a good manager" in Jan. We are very lucky to have him with all his experience. If only the world thought like this presenter there would never be any unhappyness in the world. We could all pay thousands of pounds trecking around the country watching us lose but do so with a proud smile!
  8. Many reasons + Cost of everything is going up £20-£30 to watch a game is a bit excessive + An unknown team that was largely our reserve team last year + Unknown manager + Poor peforming team + Lowe return But i think the main one is simply + People have lost interest in Southampton. Maybe the way the fans have been treated over the past few seasons has finally caught up with them.
  9. You found out the truth, dam your computer wizadary! And if i "did not have a life" i wouldn't have written much due to having no life Also nimster it was due to the console getting a price cut there and Infiniate Discovery being released (made by the people who make final fantasy). I would think next week the world will return to it's correct order with the 360 at the bottom again. And the reason i posted a photo is because if your going to insult someone at least come up with something better then "get a life and a girlfriend". Most people have a partner these days what with the population being what it is, to assume they don't is far more sad then someone playing games, it is like saying "get a tv".
  10. We were lucky for sure but i think overall a draw was a fair result. We had chances and they had chances. In the last 20mins we just seemed to fail at passing to each other. DMG seemed to waste a fair few i felt. But in the last 10mins or so we looked like we had settled for the point. I wouldn't say we were hanging on as such as it wasen't like everyone behind the ball clearing off the line type of stuff it was just they had a few crosses and a corner etc.. nothing too major. We wern't at our best that is clear but it is an improvement on recent displays and i think realisticly that is all we can hope for. The attendence was the dissapointing thing i felt not the result. The main aspect im worrying about though is our defence, at times we defended only as we know how, totally clueless. I think as others have mentioned selling Davies for £1m could be a really bad decision come May.
  11. Thought it was a really enjoyable game. If you were a neutral you would of loved it. I think we all would of settled for a point before the game and im happy to take it. We played some good football and some bad football. Davis was my motm again and kept us in it. Hopefully we can build from here and get the 3 points at the weekend. Well done lads!
  12. Wow so let me get this straight, firstly you come onto a computer game forum, read a piece about computer games, then decide to assume someone must have no life nor a girlfriend for being interested in it? Im not sure what is worse the fact you clearly have no brain or the fact that you actually bothered to type at the end "get a life and a girlfriend" Well Mr Jeremy Kyle here is a picture of me and my wife (thus proving i have a girlfriend) http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=beachsm9.jpg Now as for the "life" part im not quite sure how i can "get a life" as im too busy with my succesful job to pay off my house and wedding to be able to get one of those. Seeing as your so great at it and obviously have advice for people in abudence how about sharing some? But somehow i imagine you are a spotty little 14 year old who has zero clue as to how the world works and live at home with your mum and dad leeching off society. The only life you have is destined to be down the job centre with your hooded clothes and your 1980's tracksuit bottoms. But hey at least you can tell people to get a life on the internet mate, that will show them! I bet all the women chase after you for that! For those who generally actually have a clue they know that in Japan nothing that is Western sells very well (unless it is an Ipod). So the fact the 360 has sold well there has jack **** to do with being a fanboy or even an interest in games. Everyone knows how well the Wii is selling everywhere so the fact something else beat it even for 1 week is amazing, the fact the item that beat it was a non Japanese item makes it even more amazing! God bless the internet hey, kids like Ajvretard would have nobody to talk to without it!
  13. The world is officially about to end then http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/17/infinite-undiscovery-price-cut-help-xbox-360-outsell-wii-in-jap/
  14. The problem is though 2 more defeats this week will probably open a gap between the bottom to something like 2 games. The season does not end in September but if we start drifting away i think it will be near impossible for us to get out of that situation without changing the system. We have already started to take on injuries with Holmes/Gamis/Svensson etc.. i think those who said promotion now feel stupid and those saying mid-table are very hopeful.
  15. More like auditioned and was succesful for "Lost".
  16. Don't think we have heard from him since he said in pre-season our target was promotion this season?
  17. Yeah what i mean is if we are going to enter leagues and things we will have assigned places before we enter, if someone wants to play/swap position you can do so. But if they do it simply to be annoying they can be removed so makes no sense them doing that. Should be lots of fun!
  18. http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1643623#post1643623 Arcade = £129 60GB Pro = £160 120GB Elite = £229 Think that now makes it cheaper then the Wii £129 is a bargin
  19. Nah what happens is you have a feature called "Create a club". This is like a clan or a guild. Each person is free to choose their positions but because it is a team you all will know your positions before hand. Bit like 5v5 which we used to play on here. If someone is meant to be a CB but they are in attack then obviously you get problems but thankfully you have the option to substitute them or not pick them from your club squad. Like with 5v5 the game gives you points based on your performance both individually and your teamwork. This score is then added up to form a "Club Score" which then gives you a world ranking. The higher your ranking the better comps you get invited to. Basically meaning if your someone who is a bit of a plonker who doesn't play a team game you wont get far and will probably be booted out of the club. Such is life on the internet
  20. Personally i would be happy with 3 points. Ipswich are not doing what they did last year so a win is possible if we get a bit of luck. The Barnsley game is the one im worried about as it could prove to be a serious changing point in our season. They are poor and have lost all their away games. If we go into that game with a loss from Ipswich and lose to Barnsley at home i think it is pretty safe to assume we will be bottom of the league, worst goal difference and scrapping the barrel for hope. I'm praying that doesn't happen because if it does then i can see the protests starting up again to remove Lowe and Wilde. It is looking more and more like their strategy has backfired and in all honesty i think even the most Pro-Lowe supporter must admit if that is the scenario and he loses the fans after just 7 games he will have no option but to leave or we will just self destruct with supporter in-fighting again.
  21. awesome that is only like 11 days away then Gamespot have a really good preview up about the 10 vs 10 gameplay and they say it is a revoulutionairy addition to sports games, eventually will have no need for cpu players. Is a good read so should check it out. http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/fifasoccer09/news.html?sid=6197498&tag=topslot%3Bthumb%3B3&page=1 Another interesting thing is that in the 10 vs 10 you create a club (like a clan/guild) and you compete in tournaments. With the ultimate goal being a virtual world cup with the best players from each country playing. Maybe we can get a Saints team back into the promised land if even it is only in a virtyal world
  22. Played the demo and loved it. Seems like EA listened to the complaints people had and sorted them which must be a 1st. Best most realistic football game ever, time for Konami to show their cards now too because if it is like last years it will get poor reviews again.
  23. Think they were saying his decisions of bringing in a manager from the low leagues in Holland could be costly but in all honesty i don't know. They did talk about Jan in the game and mentioned he had a mixed record in amateur football management and was picked due to his ability to not spend any money. I think i heard someone say in the background "Lets see if this new tosser cam works then, yep theres one!"
  24. To be fair though Nick, Pearson actually had to do that didn't he. When he came in he was told you got no money to spend, you got to get rid of some players (Rasiak,Skacel etc..) and you got a horrendous injury problem where your entire defence is in the treatment room (Claus,Svensson,Thomas,Davies,Vignal etc..) Plus he had crucial games that meant something, if we lost 5 of his games we would of been down, people have to remember that. Pearson didn't have a great win record (3 wins) but he didnt have a bad loss record either (3 loses) As far as i can remember Davies didn't actually play many games under Pearson, i think only 1? Pearson worked with what he had and did fairly well considering. The West Brom and Charlton games i will never forget how good we played and even though we drew it was like winning a cup. Jan has come in and had to do the same but the difference is he probably couldn't use the players who have gone under his system as they are too old and too slow which would mean total football could not work. He has a 20+ goal scorer on the bench and a 35 year old experienced central defender. But he went with a player who has never played before and inexperienced strikers. He made those decisions. If Pearson was here he would of made different ones, if that makes any sense.
  25. Nah that wasen't a 4-1 game at all. They had chances but so did we. If Adam had took a few of his chances it would of been very different game. Going down to 10 men we matched them for majority of it but in the end luck and numbers were against them. Last year vs Weds and Preston, they were thrashings, this was nothing like that.
