  1. So there you have it. Two different interviews with two different quotes. One saying they are "fantastic" and the other on talk sport radio saying that they are not big enough club for him to manage at. Which as I said above means he thinks Villa are not in the "Top bracket" of clubs in the league for him to manage at. Otherwise why would he mention that they are not big enough? The question then becomes what bracket are they?
  2. Or alternatively read/listen to what he said prior to those back tracking comments http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/120516/exclusive-%E2%80%93-whelan-west-brom-and-villa-are-not-big-enough-martinez-172174 "There is talk of him going to West Brom and talk of him going to Aston Villa but I don’t think he will go anywhere like that. There is much, much bigger clubs than Aston Villa and West Brom about" Naturally he is talking about the top teams i.e Man Utd,Man City,Chelsea,Spurs,Arsenal,Liverpool etc as the "bigger teams". So if Villa are not one of those teams then how many "big clubs" are there??
  3. It is funny you should mention that as didn't the Wigan chairman say today that Villa were no longer a "big club" and there would be no point of Martinez going there? Maybe you should send him an email with your definition of what a big club is
  4. Wonder if he would of said the samething if ze Germans had won? It's funny because didn't he say they were fair and good a few years back? Being in the states a lot I have to agree with the above that there are some better ways to settle games. I think he was describing Ice Hockey style penalties though. A way to do it would be to just have an 'over-time' period. So say you get 20 mins playing one way and if nobody has scored then 20mins the other way. If after that nobody has scored then go to penalties with the kicker starting with the ball in the semi circle and has 15 seconds with the ball. If he shoots and the keeper saves it then he can shoot again if the ball rebounds to him. If the keeper saves it and keeps the ball or knocks it out of play its over. All that matters is the time. This would then make the keeper and penalty taker have to show a bit of skill and would make it more "fair".
  5. Live just round the corner from him in Bishops Waltham. See him all the time down the pub and at the indian. Top top bloke. I saw him once at the docs here and we had a chat about Saints and the local area. Had a bit of banter about why he was in there, how many times do people say "unbelievable Jeff" to him etc Quality chap.
  6. What a load of ********....are you even listening to what the pundits are saying? Did you not listen when they said "Blackpool played football in the right way"? Why didn't they say that about West Ham hey? All they said about them was they took their chances when they came and were lucky, thats what they did. Blackpool created better chances by working the ball around each other and creating their chances. And because I laugh at the ******** you talk on here means I lost an arguement? **** in that case you lost every arguement you try to "win" as you always say something dumb like "go watch some football"......Do you not know how retarded that is by saying that? So because we don't share an opinion = i don't watch football, I guess Turdish is now the argument judge now too hey? Get a life mate, get off the computer and actually go and do something with your life.
  7. Oh **** off you muppet, you haven't got a clue so stop trying to give it the large and act like you do!
  8. Every team punt it but my point was the ones who use that as their only tactic stuggle in the PL. Crossing isn't "punting" it. Stoke use the flanks as I said. How many times did a winger burst down the channels and put a cross in for Cole? Very few. Who have West Ham got who can run at defenders and get past them in the same way that Ince kid did? Thats my point, there was no sweet defence splitting passes, no mazey runs that cut through the players, no inch perfect through balls etc.
  9. That is one way of looking at it. Another would be to say they punted it over Blackpools defence with a pass that went to nobody and Nolan was the first person to react and managed to get to it and put in a good cross. Point being the pass was not intended for him, it was a lump up field. It was a scrappy goal.
  10. Both goals came from long balls so i'd say a fair bit no? West Ham did not play free flowing slick football with quick passes to each other, go look at the passing and possesion stats.
  11. Man you really do talk some **** sometimes.... Blackpool had more possesion, had more shots, had by far the better chances and they were all created without them punting it up the field. Both West Ham goals came from long balls over the defence... I know you love to argue, you see it as some sort of challenge but you have to be a serious mong if you think West Ham were playing the better "football" there....
  12. I don't think stoke play long ball, they play along the flanks and cross them in for Crouch. West Ham get it to Nolan or Noble who then punt it up field hoping Cole get on the end of it. The defenders in the PL love that style of play as it is easy to play against unless you have a guy like Drogba doing it. Look at the top teams and their strikers, Van Persie, Rooney, Ageuro, Suraez etc all players who play with the ball on the floor. Which is how the league is now. Teams try and play with a free flowing style which uses pace to get it from defence through midfield. Blackpool play like that. They were unlucky to go down last year. West Ham will struggle to score goals playing the way they do as they have no pace, they will get knackered running around trying to get the ball off teams.
  13. To be honest I think for us West Ham going up is a good thing as they play old school long ball football. In the top flight you can't play that way anymore. They will go straight back down if they play like that.
  14. Not sure if this has been posted yet but on facebook it seems to be doing the rounds. West Ham shirt for next season was leaked Notice the PL badges? Come on you Blackpool!
  15. Blackpool just because didn't fat Sam say he had booked a hotel in Las Vegas on the day of the playoff final? Implying WH would be promoted automatically and he would be on holiday before that day. Which I think even on Dell Days and Turkish's definition of arrogance is pretty high up there! So as much as I dislike Holloway it would be funny as hell to see West Ham screw it up after keeping together an expensive squad after relegation and pumping loads of money you don't have on transfers that season on the gamble your go up. We did that and look what happened to us. Maybe WH fans needs the same to happen to them so they grow a bit of respect for the division they find themselves in?
  16. Then why did you say it was deluded to think we would sell out a stadium say the size of Evertons? Which is what 2k more then ours right now? I don't think it is deluded to think we could sell out a 36k seater stadium weekly in the PL. If we do well the attendance rises, if we do poor it declines. Same for every club out there. If we go on to have some good seasons our following will increase. Isn't that why we moved from The Dell?
  17. Why would I be in shock I know what to expect. I will be there regardless. But I think your in for more of a shock if you think we won't sell out our games next season. Which is basically what your saying. So then Newcastle when they were in the CCC had 40k average. The year before they had 49k average. They were not sold out does that make them a small club as your definition says they are? In 2002/03 Leeds Utd had an attendance average of 39k (full house). Following year they had a bad season and had 33k. In the championship next year they had 28k. Next season they had 21k average. Then in league one they had 24k. And the season they just finished they had 22k average. So again by your definition Leeds are a small club? Because it seems to me you define small club on attendances which don't quite show the true story does it? If Leeds where in the PL now they would be getting full houses just like Newcastle do. Just like we will next season. Thinking a club is small just because their attendance in a lower division is lower then a premier league clubs attendance is as I said before, retarded. Every club in the country would fail to sell out their stadium after dropping out of the top flight. I'd love to see these "big clubs" in division three and see what average they get. We had 23k. Higher then the two Sheffield teams, are they small clubs too?
  18. Because our tickets are expensive? By that logic is Arsenal not a big club then as they don't sell out their ground anymore? I am not saying we are a big club ala Barca but we are bigger then some on here seem to want to give us credit for. Next season will be a sell out for most games just as it was when we were there before. To think we couldn't sell more then 32k tickets a game when we were having our cup/top 10 finish year is retarded. When clubs do well the fans come out, when they don't do well a lot vanish. Happens at every club.
  19. So deluded that we took 44k+ just to see a third division cup final....and we could of had a lot more in there if they allowed us to.....
  20. To be honest me neither....seems to be one of those games that somehow missed me by even though it has millions of players. They said it is the most pre-ordered pc game in history so the hype is pretty huge. Not knowing nothing about it my expectations are low
  21. Never played a Diablo game before but managed to blag a copy so will be joining the masses at 11pm tonight!
  22. Should send that story to the Daily Mail, they will have a field day with it!
