But if the major update is how the 3d match works then again that sounds a bit ****ty considering you don't actually control whats happening. Your not in control of a player as such. Technically your watching a video. Naturally your going to defend them but personally I don't see the need for annual games if the changes in them are not much. As you mention they are thinking years ahead so why not do what they did ages ago and just let the community update the game? As I think they would easily be able to do that. The problem with yearly games is that they have to have something to make you think "right I can't go back to that old version now". Like in Fifa this year they have added a sort of first touch control system which means you can't just kick the ball to someone and they pull it down and run with it. If you use that then go back to the old one the whole thing feels different. And feels worse. However in the past EA have been probably the worst culprits at the yearly update game by not changing much at all. At the start of this generation it was almost the same game every year! I hate companies that think that way. They have to have a game out each year even if there is nothing really new in there. Nothing to make it stand above the older versions. I think if games companies don't have anything then skip a year. It will make the title more desirable if people have to wait longer for it. To me this years version just seems like one of those games. Next year will be different. Who knows with the new consoles coming maybe they can get the same experience on those.

Trying to get like for like shots but which one is fm12 and which one is fm13? If anything fm12 looks better imo but they look nearly identical...

Sorry but it doesnt look that different. If they spent 2 years on that graphical update then they should be fired as thats shocking. These 900 features that you talk of what would be the main one? The one where when you use it you cant go back to the old one? Right now it looks more like an update.

Watching all those blogs makes me think this years game should be an update/addon rather then a full release. Sort of like what EA did with the euro 2012 game. When you break it down the main change is the 3d match has had a slight graphic upgrade. The rest seem just additional options and cosmetic changes. Things like tone and the media stuff are almost the same as last year they just put them in more places. Will wait for the demo but dont see any reason to part with £25 just for an update really.

Charlton a few years back when we were major ****. They were giving it the large big time. But still nowhere near as annoying as Saints fans who don't go to the games slagging off everything about the club i.e attendances,chairman,pies at half time,which way we should of kicked off etc etc

Villa didn't sell out their end so the numbers are not technically our fault. Plus if you think about it selling 31k is pretty amazing in a recession. We are still at around 95% full. With the cost of tickets going up and many people on south coast losing their jobs I think that's good going. Really have no idea how that could be looked at in a negative way? Why is it that some on here seem to want to try and be little the club every chance they get? Was Anfield sold out today for the Man Utd game? No. Was man city stadium sold out vs Arsenal? No. Was Newcastle sold out? No by quite a lot. Was West Ham sold out? No by about 3k and they want to move to the Olympic stadium! Point is some of you need to let this attendance thing go because only a mong would try and use those stats as a negative. In comparison to all the other teams our % is very good and we have currently the 12th highest average home attendance. If the away end sells out that will increase. Having three home games vs teams over 150 miles away will affect that. It really does amaze me sometimes who we have as fans, or so called fans. If they put as much effort into supporting the club as they do in trying to create arguments then I think they would see just how stupid these threads are.

Based on the first 4 games I dont think he can have any complaints. Teams should be picked based on who is playing well. And Kelvin has not been playing well. Thats not blaming him or letting him take the can as mr negativity mlt says. All players get dropped even the worlds best. Its no big deal.

Really? Almost beating Citeh and United was a great feeling especially in the United game when we went 2-1 up. Everyone went mental! Didn't quite get the same feeling when we beat teams in the lower leagues. Maybe because we were expected to beat them? Playing teams at the top level and beating some of them now and then is more memorable to me then a game in the cold of winter on a tues night against Yeovil. But thats just my view really.

I got a copy today and have played a couple of hours on it and have to say it is by far the best PES of this generation. It is getting back to where it used to be and there have been some very decent improvements this year. The speed of the game feels right, the jostling and pushing each other off the ball feels right. Weight of passes feels right and the AI has been hugely improved. However there are still a lot of things wrong with it. Heading is strange, the ball doesn't fly up in the air it sort of goes a meter in front or to the side downwards. Which is annoying if you punt it up field and try and flick it on. Shooting is still baloon style in that the slightest tap of shoot = ball sky rocketing. There is little finese to it and is very frustrating. Tackling is still retarded. You do a sliding tackle and win the ball fair = yellow card. The ref playing on is also stupid as when you run past the defender and get fouled even though your through one on one he will pull it back... And the main one is the fluidity of the actual game. It stutters now and then which is really annoying. It seems to happen when the ball is passed through midfield because of the amount of players there. There also seems to still be some input lag at times. Overall I really like the game but the stop start style is still not on par with the fluidity and play abaility of Fifa. The Fifa vs Pro Evo battle will go on forever and people will argue what is best. But if you not tried Pro Evo for awhile you should give it a go as its actually really good. But when you go back to having a go at the fifa demo after playing it you notice just how refined the demo is, the little details that keep you in control of what you do. This will be the last fifa/pes this generation and I think they end it pretty close. I imagine next gen footie games are going to be even more amazing!

Yeah each team now has a stato who's job it is to change the stats based on the form of each player each week. Looking forward to seeing the Pompey stats

Chelsea vs Inter in the quarter finals was on But surely the bestest only watch Pompey games? Or maybe they will be scouting some Madrid or citeh players as they all want to play for Pompey don't they?

So what do we think the attendance for the bestest will be tonight then? When we were in league one had a shell of a club and our points deduction we had 22k watch against Swindon on a Tues night.

Personally I don't think it is about time as such but more about his decisions. Adkins is a top guy and has done well with us but you have to look at the bigger picture. He has got us promoted but that was the bare minimum expected from him. Pardew rebuilt the club and brought in the players who got us promoted. He was fired coz he failed to take us up. To say you would rather be relegated to me just sounds daft. This club is bigger then anyone individual and that includes Adkins. In some of the games he has made bad decisions which have cost us. You have to remember he is learning too. But if we go on a bad run and are playing **** then I don't see how keeping him actually benefits the club? He has spent £30m this window. Possibly more then we have spent in the entire time we were out of the pl. Its a lot of money. If we are at around Xmas and we look as good as down then I don't see the point in keeping him on. If he isn't the one to take us onto the next level then so be it. I think we will do alright though. We have had a tough start and these threads are a bit silly. We all need to keep positive and stick together. Adkins is the best guy for the job right now and deserves at least until Xmas.

So 11k attended that game. In our game against Walsall we had 31k. As expected the few are getting fewer. Great support by the bestest...

I actually watchef an interesting documentary about the smoking thing. If you think about it basically you got two groups. The smokers and the non smokers. The non smokers try and take away the rights of the smokers simply because they dont like it. Thats facism acording to the documentary. No different from a group of people who dislike the colour blue and wanting it banned even though some people like it. I imagine its the same people wanting those people drug tested. Personally i couldnt care what they do with the money. But what i do know is that a friend who has been looking for a job while on benefits is really struggling to make ends meet. After reading all those daily mail reports of them living the high life (literally) i was shocked to see the total opposite. Conclusion is there are a lot of angry people in this country and by giving them things to be angry about = £££ even if it isnt true. If they bring it in then they should bring in tests for politicians and bankers. Like putting a banker on a set of scales and if they weigh more then a goose they are a witch and should be burned!!

The attacking side of the AI seems a lot better. If you counter they seem to make more runs then they did before. However the computer is still too hard to stop. But I guess its always been that way with the new versions then you get used to it eventually. So far it is alright better then last years but not by much imo.

demo comes out today

It's a pity Matty can't just keep himself to himself. It obviously takes two to tango but Cortese hasen't come out slagging Matt off every chance he get's. Matt is no angel himself and should remember that. Respect everything the guy did for us but I don't see how he is going to sort the situation out by keep making remarks. Like the one above about Lamberts shirt number. That suggests Cortese would mess with the football side of things to soothe his own ego. Which doesn't fit his character at all. In the 3 years the guy has been here you could probably count on one hand the amount of public interviews/statements he has done. So while some seem to be placing the blame at Cortese's feet what is it he has actually done? There are so many "my friend said xyz" type rumours and nobody knows if they are true. Like for example someone I know who used to work at the club just after the takeover said the bad blood comes from the takeover and more specifically that Matt blamed Cortese and co for his own bid failing. Then there are other rumours as others have mentioned. But one thing is for sure and that it is Matt who keeps talking about it. He alludes to something but never goes far enough to actually say what the problem is. Why won't he just come out and say what the issue is? Is it because he is worried he will get sued by Cortese? It is sad they can't sort it out but i'm of the opinion you have to look forwards. Markus and Cortese have done a lot of positives for this club and I would much rather look at those and have people talk about those then talk about negative he said she said rumours. That is the problem with the internet age.

People can bash Cortese all they want but they need to remember where we were three years ago. If it was not for him Markus would not have come in. This feud is about the takeover from what I heard. Matt is and will always be a legend but he needs to shut the **** up. Keep that stuff to yourself. Airing it serves no purpose. Southampton is bigger then any one person and that includes both of them.

Exactly there are some huge positives. To be so close to winning a game against both United and City shows how far we have come. We are still progressing and going in the right direction. We have brought in some decent players and hopefully they will make that difference that we need. We are a very good side and we need to remember that. Adkins is learning and i'm sure won't make many mistakes. Our season really starts after the Arsenal game. It would of been nice to have won the Wigan game but there is still a long long way to go.
