We have had plenty of gash shirts down the years and this home kit joins them. But in a few weeks nobody will give a **** as we will have other things to talk about. If I remember right didn't the first Friends Provident shirt have a single stripe going down the centre of the shirt? That one was pretty crap too. Can't have a great kit every year and the last two were pretty good imo.
-
In all honesty the home kit is pretty terrible and doesn't looklike a Saints shirt at all. We have gone from red and white to red with a little bit of white. It is a big change from our kits of the past and thus a bit of a step away from our normal identity. The whole red thing just looks a bit overkill. The pin stripes should of been a lot wider. The away kit looks okay though and I will probably buy that instead of the home kit.

Who Is The Worst Company you Have Had The Misfortune To Have To Deal With
St Marco replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
BT..... Took them three months to install a line in my new house. Then took £200 out of my account implying that for those three months the line was active (activation fee) and was the quarterly bill. After informing them of their fault they wouldn't give my money back! Almost had to go to court to get them to give it to me. They decided to pay me the day before the hearing. ****ers -
I think the key point people are missing is that portpin have said the offer is conditional. Meaning if in 28 days the high earners have not gone then he won't go through with the takeover. So now Birch has to get rid of the high earners. They said they need to get it down from£9.5m to £5m. That's going to need more then 2 players leaving! As we have seen he is using the press to make them look bad. These guys know whatever happens they will be leaving anyway. If your getting bad mouthed in the press then your not going to be happy about it. I can see these guys now digging their heels in and making sure they get everything before they leave. Because if in 28 days they have not gone they will go under. They then get what they are owed from the PP as it is secured. Then walk into a new team on a free with a nice signing on fee. I think that is the thing that will kill this Cva. The more desperate Birch gets the more he will make the players into the bad guy. Which will give them more reason to not make a deal.

At one of the local schools here they advertised a job for a caretaker. According to my friend who is a teacher there they had over 100 people apply. Now I'm all for change and let's be honest it is needed. But what I'm not for is this somehow fantasy belief that there are actual jobs out there for all those people. If we take those people off benefits and say right go get a job or starve that's going to create huge problems. My opinion Is the government needs to be creating jobs and get businesses moving in the right direction. They estimate they will save £2bn from this change while only recently they threw another £6bn into the banks. Next week they will throw more at it! So obviously benefits needs to change but it masks the real problem which is there are few jobs and less jobs being created. Companies are going under daily and others are having to slash the work forces. Didn't the army say they have to cut back by 10,000 recently? Saving £2bn in the grand scheme of things is nothing when they are just ****ing away money like they are. The great myth about these guys is they are saving money when they aren't. They have burrowed more money then ever. As I said I'm all for change but when there are no jobs and people go onto benefits and can't find re-employment when trying then how can you just say no more money for you? That will increase crime by loads. I thought he wanted to help rejoin society? Sounds like he just wants rid of the poor and sick people to me.

Exactly. But remove the whole "celebrity" of him and try and put yourself in that situation. Say you went on holiday and while on holiday you get a call from police back in England saying "we have a few allegations against you from two women who say you raped them. We are not going to charge you but would like you to come to the station to have a chat". Would your thoughts be a, ****, what on earth is going on? I didn't do anything so better get back to England and deal with this. Clear my name etc. or b, **** what on earth is going on? I better stay here in this country and not go back to that country with the allegations and as I won't get a fair trial there! That axis of evil country Sweden will lock me up! As I said above if he has nothing to hide then stop hiding. Go back to Sweden, deal with the questions. See what happens. If you get let off you can say you were not dodging anything and did the right thing. If you don't go back your always have this dark cloud over your head where even if you didn't do it people will think you did just because you tried to avoid having to deal with it. Trying to get asylum to a country he has no connection too is pretty extreme. If he goes back to Sweden and they then send him to US on spy charges then boo hoo. As the saying goes if you don't want to do the time then don't do the crime. I wonder if he gave the same amount of thought to the soliders and innocent people that could of been hurt when he sent out documents about the planned military operations?
-
If he has nothing to hide then why does he seem so desperate to hide? Also if he is the crusader for truth then why has he not leaked stuff abou Russia or China etc? Just seems to be about the US and UK doesn't it? The guy is a total douche but the people who try and make him out to be some kind of hero are far worse.

Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
St Marco replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I think some people just need to accept they were wrong rather then continue to dig their hole... These pictures show the stadium as it would look expanded. It isn't a confirmation that it is happening. It is a confirmation that the club are seriously thinking about it to the point they have paid someone to make some designs. Who knows if it will happen soon or even under the current ownership. But one day it will happen. With everything that has gone on since Nicola and co moved in I can imagine this would be on the "next phase" list. The 5 year plan was to get back to the pl. we have done that. I'm sure Cortese will have new targets now. -
1. Man Utd 2. Citeh 3. Chelsea 18. Stoke 19. WBA 20. Swansea Saints to finish 15th
-
Good luck to the guy. Hope he does well and think he will.
-
His last game for England was 27th June vs Germany where we lost 4-1. So he wasen't actually in the England team in West Ham's relegation season which was 2010-11. Surprised the guys who love to argue didn't pick up on that one http://www.englandstats.com/players.php?pid=1127
-
They did alright, they have the same GA as Villa. But I think that is their problem. They are better at keeping out goals then they are at creating them. I like to think we are more like Norwich in that our defence is not out strong point but we are good at creating chances. So we will score lot's of goals but also let in lot's of goals. But if we maintain our current style of play and they maintain theirs then I think we will finish above them.
-
Curious to know how you think they were "miles" better then us last season? They actually only won 11 games all season (only one more then Bolton who went down). Scored the lowest amount of goals in the whole league etc etc I think the teams from say 10th to 17th are all very similar. In that group are the three teams who went up the season before. I'd like to think Saints would be amongst that group if we were in there. So of course they are a better side right now but by miles? I don't think so. Of their squad I don't think there are many players that would make too much of a difference to our side. But i'm sure they would take Lallana,Jay Rod and possibly Lambert if they could from us. I think Stoke are one of the teams who could be in serious trouble next year unless they get in some better midfielders to replace the older ones. They won 1 of their last 13 games. If the season had gone on 3 more weeks or so I think they would of gone down.

In his prime he was a decent player. But he is at the end of his career now, going on 34 years old. Not really sure we should be looking at players who are a year or so from retiring? I think it all depends on if it is a free transfer and if he will be happy sitting on the bench as cover for the other two. If he is okay with that then his experience will be very useful to the squad, especially the youngsters. But I just don't think it fits in with the policy the club have shown. Have we bought in any 33+ year olds since we have been taken over? The only one I can think of is Jaidi but I think he was 32 and that was when we had no players in division three. Could do far worse of course but just don't think he fits in with the clubs policy of youngsters or people in or around their prime.

Man this game is addictive..... Someone did a cool video showing split screen of the pc version and the ps3 version. Not much in it
-
Great signing of intent by us. Welcome to the club Jay Rod!! Surprised nobody has bumped up that thread about how much people expect us to spend this summer on players! A few of our most vocal fans on here didn't think it was the clubs "policy" to spend so much on a player.....

I'm guessing the guy with the white collar on the far right is Cortese?
-
Didn't you know saints have the bestest stalkers in the world!
-
So basically for this to get passed they need the people who agreed to the last CVA (and didn't get a penny) to agree to this CVA which means they will get even less IF they actually pay up? Not really read the details of who is owed what but surely they are taking the ****? If someone is owed £1000 they are being offered £50. Anyone who accepts that deserves to be shot imo.

Maybe something to do with someone new writing a column in the programmes? Either that or we signed Pompey as the half time entertainment?
-
Not sure if it's just me but I think You should only get a call up if your playing well now. I get the whole he will be good one day thing and will maybe provide competition for Hart eventually but that isn't now. A guy who has no top flight experience against top flight opposition shouldn't be anywhere near the national squad for a major tournament. What happened to earning your right to be there? Sure guys like Kelvin are old but on merit surely he should be ahead of players like that? The kid should not get a call up until he has at least played some champions league games. Going from league 2 to international level is a massive jump. Imagine the other two get injured and he is thrown into the deep end. The pressure on him will be emense. Look what happened to Carson when he was put in goal at the last Euros when he made the mistake against Croatia. The media destroyed him and now he plays in Turkey. At Major tournaments you should not be taking along guys like him as its a huge gamble. Try him out in friendlies that is what they are for.
-
To be fair you have to remember a lot of the players we have were bought with playing in league one in mind. Guly is without a doubt one of them. I cannot imagine Pardew/Adkins brought him in as they saw him as a PL player. He is a league one/championship player at best. I'm sure as the transfer window goes on we will see more players brought in who will replace a lot of the players who were here in league one.
-
I don't want to slag the guy off as it's wrong to do that to your own players. But in all honesty I don't think he will be good enough for the PL. First off what position will he play? He lacks pace and seeing as the PL is played at 300mph where the winger has to get back to defend I can't see him being able to play that role. Imagine if he was up against guys like Theo,Nani,Lennon,Chambo,Bale,Silva,Nasri,Mata,Hazard etc etc. He will struggle to keep up with those guys, they will breeze past him. But when it is the other way around will he be able to get past them? I don't think so. If he plays up front then he will do much better. He has a presence about himself and could do well if we need to revert to pump it long into the box style. My main concern though is he goes missing in games a lot. If you have a bad game in the PL you get punished. You can't carry any players and for the second half of last season he was carried a lot. Which is okay if you have a strong squad in the division and you have quality players who will step up. But in the PL we will have one of the weakest teams as of right now. So as a fan of the club I think everyone should support him. But I would be surprised if he plays much. If we use him as a winger like we did last season then we are in deep **** imo.

Reading what TB said about those guys not wanting to take a pay cut is mental. When you read the comments of the few you can see it had the desired effect and they now have it in for Kanu and TBH. If they defer their wages it will save the club! But yet he doesn't say anything about people like Chiney. If he wrote off his debt wouldn't that help the club to survive? Wouldn't it make it look a better prospect to buy? Why are their fans not saying to him if you care like you say you do then write off your debt. Because that's what they are asking the players to do. Which in my view shows why anyone anywhere who claims them the "bestest" simply needs to read those comments and they will see they would rather blame guys who have deferred wages for the clubs finances then the people who offered them those deals. If I was a player I'd never want to join them because when they did well your loved but the minute it goes bad they expect you to rip up your contract and walk. And if you don't then your to blame! If this was any normal company they would of been dead long ago. TB admits in his comments the problem is the staff won't accept pay cuts and the club can't afford to pay them. In that case you have no option but to pull the plug. Thats your job. You are not supposed to be a puppet of Chinneys to do what he wants. Your supposed to represent all those owed money and appointed by the court to get the club on its feet financially. That obviously can't be done with Chinney as he wants the wages down. If you can't get him to take it on then you have no real offer from him. Wind the club up.
