Incase anyone might be interested fm 12 on iphone and ipad is in the sale for £2.99 at the mo on the app store. Pretty good for those times when your away from home and bored out your nut i.e the in laws

It could work (obviously to sound of Love will tear us apart) "And Sharp Sharp will tear them apart.....again!" Rinse and repeat. Whatever song is chosen I just hope it isn't some boring **** like we have for De Ridder, Lallana and now Lee. Need to be more creative!
-
"He's Sharp, he's Sharp, he will tear your defence apart"
-
Reason I chose Puncheon is simply because he is our best winger. People forget that he was picked in the team of the year twice, once with us. When his head is right and he wants to play he is one tricky bastard. In his last year here when he played he had 9 assists in 19 games. That is a pretty amazing feat. Adamn Lallana only had 3 assists the entire season. What he did was stupid but if he is okay now and things are forgotten behind the scenes then I would rather have him out on the right then Guly or De Ridder. Especially when you consider then have produced only 9 assists in over 50 games between them. It is no secret our left wing is the creative side right now. Plus in the last game Puncheon actually got past his man most times, even nut megging him. Where as De Ridder struggled.

To be honest with you I don't think De Ridder is all that. Chaplow has been out a long time and did very well before getting injured. Him and Morgan are the two players I would put in if we could take 7 subs like before. If Guly continues to fade then I would put in Chaplow. Morgan is someone I would love to see in the team as he has great potential. But right now I think we need our most experienced squad out there. Martin could be swapped for either of Morgan or Chaplow but I just think Harding wouldn't do so well at CB. I guess if it hits the fan Fox can go CB and Cork can play in defence too. Either way these are problems I am glad we have
-
De Ridder has had about 30 games in total (granted most were as a sub) and I just don't think he has done much. Lee I think would be a good player to slot in behind the forwards, so could maybe switch to a 3-5-2 at times or just a diamond 4-4-2. But he will have to earn his spot as right now he is unproven. Lambo and Sharp will get you goals. Connolly is experienced but sadly very injury prone so will mean Lee will get more chances anyway. We do have a big squad on paper, we could do with losing a few on loan.
-
I'd go with --------------------Davis-------------- Fraizer-------Jos--------Fonte----------Fox Puncheon-----Hammond---Cork----Lallana ------------Lambo-------Sharp-------------- Bart,Connolly,Martin,Lee,Harding or Guly
-
Tbh i'm guessing Sharp/Lambo up front and Guly out on the right (cover for Puncheon) and then Connolly to come on as sub. Barnard has been missing most this season, think a loan is what he needs to earn his way back into the team.

Great signing but more importantly I think the timing of it is exactly what was needed. A player to give some confidence to the other players when we were in a bit of a dip. Can't wait for tomorrow now! I bet the mong patrol will be really ****ed off about that one! The whole Cortese can't sign players thing is dead again for another window. What will they complain about now?
-
On that note welcome Sharp! Grab an oar mate! Great signing for us and if what that Simon guy said is true then what a class guy. In football today very few of them around!
-
Any mods on that can check the ip for this guy against our resident in the knows ip? I don't know if it is just me but I have a hunch based on the tone both use in their posts they could be the same person

The 5th Round Draw - Bolton at home (if we beat Millwall!)
St Marco replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
If you think about it there are only really 4 big teams left in Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool. The rest can be beat as Newcastle found out today. Who knows if one of those four draw each other then it could give others a chance like what has happened in this years league cup. I hope we get someone like Stevenage at home. Beat them and be in the last 8. Or get Brighton and give them a right mashing! -
Welcome Lee Grab an oar mate
-
Puncheon has acted like a first class nob but he has done the right thing getting off the high horse, maning up and admiting he ****ed up. It helps his career but more importantly helps him as a person. Everyone makes mistakes, it is how you learn. He is a good player and will be a big addition to the side. He will get a boo from me when they say his name but then after that will cheer the team on. Booing serves no purpose. Like ****ing your own bed, isn't going to make it more comfortable! Also good to see Cortese prove the three haters wrong again... Welcome back Puncheon, grab an oar mate.

Not sure what is more funny, this thread or that Hypo keeps saying he is in the know?? How people have such short memories hey. Was only a few weeks ago we were top of the league, about to beat the countries unbeaten home record, most wins in a row etc. We were 6 points clear of second. Playing great football that was winning plaudits from around the world. Some even saying it was like Barca. But now we have a blip, we have a couple of bad results meaning we are no longer top and the toys get launched out the pram..... So now it is Cortese's fault because we have not signed the people mentioned in the media? Is it his fault a supposed £6m bid was rejected by Celtic? And all the other bids? How about the signings in the summer and already this window? Fox = £1.8m, Cork = £1m-£2m, Jos = £1m, = De Ridder = probably around £1m and so on. What do people expect? We get a new team every year or throw money around like we are Man City? On top of that have other teams been spending the cash then? As far as I can see nobody has, they wait until the last day as always because it means clubs get desperate. Cortese has a lot of faults but I think some people forget where we were before he came in. We sit 2nd with one of the best squads in the league. Some of the best youngsters in the country. Roll back to last weekend when we were 1st, how could we have done any better? To me it seems some bitter people have been waiting, hoping that this club get's knocked off that top spot so they can come out with crap like this. Some would rather see us lose then see us win. That is the age of the internet mong. I expect this thread to be re-bumped in the next week and a few people to look like bigger idiots then they already do.

We don't need many signings at all. However i do think De Ridder isn't good enough and would like a proper winger out there that is proven at this level. I can't help but think if we had someone like that out there we would be creating a lot more then we have been. The same problem goes for up front. Connolly is a great player on his day and I think out of Guly and Barnard I'd rather see Connolly as the striker on the bench. But I think we need to splash the cash and bring in a top quality striker. Someone like Rhodes/Hooper would be perfect. I think our team would looklike Davis Fraizer - Fonte- Jos - Fox New guy--Hammond - Cork-Lallana Lambo - New guy subs - Bart - Morgan - Connolly - Harding/Martin - Guly But the "New guy" slots have to be taken by quality bought with the PL in mind. Players like De Ridder/Iago/Lee etc should only be coming on as subs. You can't afford to give too many un-experienced players a chance if your going for promotion.

Adkins has done a fine job. BUT people do need to stop thinking about the whole "would you of taken 1st/2nd" type of thinking. Adkins as a manager will be judged on how he does in the period we are in now. Our league position or what we did 5 months ago is irelivent. A good manager will be able to change things around when they don't work and try something new. If we adopt the whole "it doesn't matter, we were top" attitude then why even bother playing the rest of the season? We have good players at this club. We have spent a fortune putting it together. If Adkins is a good manager then he will turn the slump around. If he doesn't and we don't go up then I am sorry but we would have blown it badly. Tonight the players looked very tired, they looked out of sorts at times. The confidence has deffinatly gone. To get it back the club needs to work really hard. We need to have the same energy that teams like Leicester showed. We need to be in their face, we need to pass it around rather then lump it up field and hope Guly can flick it on. We need to want to win. We also need to spend in this window. De Ridder is just a racehorse, runs really fast but can't actually do much else. I think we need a proper striker to replace Guly/Connolly/Barnard as a main starter to go alongside Lambert when he is back. We have become way to predictable.
-
Not quite true is it? If it was a case of Cortese having an ego and wanting to punish him then why would he have sent him out on loan twice? I think the more obvious answer is that the CLUB doesn't want to sell to a promotion chasing rival i.e West Ham. Look at Adkins comments today. He said that he is available to buy. Which again doesn't indicate he is being held back. What amazes me is some people think because he has thrown a strop we should let him go for basically nothing. To me that sends the total wrong message to players and is one of the things I hate most about football right now. It is nice to see a club stand up to players for a change. They can't have it all their own way, they are assets. If they are earning £10k+ a week then sorry I couldn't give a **** if their feelings are hurt by not getting what they want.
-
Either way the point is if you have issues it should always remain behind closed doors. Loads of people will have issues with each other. My boss can be a total knob but I know he is only like that because he is thinking of the company first. After all that is why we are there. It is not some holiday camp where your there to be social and have a laugh. Your there to do a job which makes the company earn money to survive. If Cortese has issues with Puncheon then fine, it isn't anything to do with us. Speaking about it on places like twitter serves no purpose but to make it worse by seeking attention. As I said before he should grow a pair, keep his head down and get on with it. If that is with the kids, the dinner ladies, the bin men then so be it. You are not given respect, you earn it. And by all accounts Puncheon has not earned it. The things that are happening are down to his actions, he only has himself to blame. No other players have had an issue. The boy who cried wolf comes to mind.
-
So say your at work and you and your boss have a disagreement. But your boss stays quiet and would rather deal with it internally. Maybe let it go. But you then decide to go around your work place slagging off your boss, making it clear that you intend to be desruptive and pick up your pay for doing nothing. How does the boss come out of that looking bad? Because he had an argument with an employee? Every work place in the world will have problems from time to time with its staff. As far as I am concerened Puncheon probably got disciplined and didn't like it. You don't see any other playes having issues. In fact the team atmosphere would indicate the total opposite. Rather then keep his head down, put in the hard work and try his all he has decided to throw a strop and go on the internet slagging off the club and its fans. The only person who comes out looking bad is Puncheon. Again.
-
It does make me laugh people doing the "we don't know what was said" or "cortese comes out looking bad" etc. what a total load of ********... We don't know what was said or happened behind closed doors but we do know Puncheon has had issues at loads of clubs. It isn't just here where he has had problems. But while he has been here he has created lots of problems including falling out with players and the manager. Read Adkins comments on him when he was fined and moved to train with the youngsters. He basically implies that he tried to create a bad team atmosphere and was too disruptive. Some people said that was due to him taking pops at chambo and eventually saying he doesn't even want to be here. But regardless of what happened you don't see any chairman/ managers coming out slagging players off. People fallout constantly. It is human nature. I fall out with my boss sometimes just as you probably do. The difference is I doubt you then go onto the Internet and report on there that your boss is a ****** and your basically going to sit on your ass doing jack **** while collecting your pay cheque. Fallouts happen daily, especially in football, anyone who even plays pub football knows that. Puncheon needs to keep his opinions to himself, it is called being professional, if you look at his career it is something he knows nothing about. Saying someone who has said nothing comes out looking bad is just laughable.

Not sure if you guys been paying much attention to this whole SOPA thing but thought i'd share this bit of news! Yesterday the fbi took down megaupload (those who use the net alot will know who they are). And in retaliation those cheeky bastards at Anonymous (the people who supposedly took down the PS3) have gone after some websites http://paidcontent.org/article/419-sopa-blackout-anonymous-style-doj-riaa-hacked-in-megaupload-protest/ Department of Justice, RIAA, MPAA, Universal, BMI and Warner all gone so far. Very interesting. Normally against hackers but have to say good on them, while I doubt Wiki,Facebook etc will agree with their methods I think they will be happy about how much more exposure it has now got. Google said they got 7m people to sign a petition against it in just one day! Crazy. EDIT: FBI down now too!

What he said to Celtic fans and what Cortese makes him say when he figures out where he lives are two different things
