But didn't our parent company go into admin and Lowe tried that defence that the club was alright and we got done for it? At least that is how i remember it?
-
So then if the parent company has gone into admin doesn't that mean they are due a points deduction again? If i remember right when that talk of Liverpool's parent company was about to go into admin last year the PL said they would get a 9 point deduction. So surely they now get another deduction and because it is the 2nd one in a year that is a 25 point deduction or something like that? If that is the case then they are relegated for sure. I actually feel sorry for them. I know a lot of people here will be enjoying it and rubbing it in but there is a real chance they will go under now. I wouldn't wish that on any fan even our rivals. Without them we would have no derby games to look forward to. If they get the Luton punishment then that will be game over for sure. Nobody will want to buy a club with £50m+ debts in the technical 5th division. If that happened i would imagine the fans would make their own club like AFC Wimbledon anyway.

We were totally gash today. Some strange tactics and team selections by Nige. Not quite sure with the whole Morgan on the right thing when we had Shteve on the bench. That said our away record is pretty crap when you look at it. Two wins in 10 or something right? It needs to improve because eventually those wins against teams like Borough and West Ham will be cancelled out if we lose to them away. But you can't win them all can you. However when we win it is right to praise them, when you lose it is right to be critical and try and figure out where we went wrong so we can pinpoint our weaknesses and try and fix them. Pointing them out does not make you a whiner at all.

Does anyone see the point/enjoy goal music ?
St Marco replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Here you go, Rickies penalty last weekend At 40secs you can clearly hear the music. That is amongst the fans screaming and going mental. They then start singing along with it.... If people don't notice it then fair play, wish i didn't notice it! -

Can't stand it either. Think a few saying they can't hear it must have bad hearing or something! You get the initial cheer of a goal being scored then the tune starts to drown it out after that. As for the American thing i don't see how someone saying that is xenophobic or anti-american? It is an american thing that they do with basically every sport. Reason they do it is to try and help with the atmosphere. They try to get people to sing and shout. Try and make some noise. It isn't needed with football here as we make noise ourselves. For football it doesn't fit. Pointing that out isn't anti-american. It is anti-gimmick. -
He really is a hypocrite isn't he. He talks about the decision ruining the game but yet doesn't talk about the clear cut penalty we should of had before that. The sad thing is that the decision gives him an excuse of which to deflect criticism from their actual performance prior to that. They didn't attack at all, never had a shot let alone look like scoring. Think they had like 40% possesion or something like that. We were lucky and the ref made mistakes but they never looked threatening. They would never of scored. The only time Davis was called upon was when he made a hash of that cross that he dropped.

Wasen't the best performance but i think even racist Gus will have to agree that we deserved to win. Brighton just came to defend and hope for a smash and grab. So much for them supposedly playing good football. That said first half we just couldn't get that killer chance. We tried everything. Second half i think is up there with the most luckiest halves i have seen us have. Some really crazy decisions from the ref. The two penalties looked outside to me and if anything Rickie just slipped. But to be fair we had at least 1 defo penalty turned away so it worked out alright. But the ref had a toital shocker. All in all a win is a win and the bus keeps on going. 1 win in 12 now for Brighton. The wheels have fallen off. If i was their fans i would be more concerned with how your own club is doing, not ours!

Just bought a pc copy for steam from greenmangaming for £30. £5 cheaper then steam themselves are selling it. Loved Morrowind and Oblivion. Got too many damn games recently that i can't see me finishing for the next few years..... Zelda next and then time for my bank account to go into administration i think! Can't wait to play this though!

They just sound bitter that the great start they had has now gone. Based on the last 8 games they sit last in the table. Where as we are first. On that form i would concentrate on how well my own club is doing. Obviously Poyet isn't as great as some thought he was. Getting out of league one is one thing, getting out of the championship is something totally different. Still banging on about last season while we are 16 games into this season is pretty funny. I don't see Brighton as a rival at all. The same goes for Bompey. When we were behind them all in the league they were quick to point out we were the worst club on the south coast based on league position. Funny how they don't say we are the best south coast club when we are in front of them. Seems they like to talk about us a lot. All i care about is getting 3 points. Couldn't care who we play.

Personally i think Fifa made it into a big deal by saying it is a political thing when really it isn't. It is about remembering the people who died to give people such as Mr Blatter the freedom to live their lives. I think we should go ahead with wearing it regardless of what Fifa say simply because it shouldn't have anything to do with them. It is a friendly being held in England on rememberance weekend. Who is actually going to be outraged at us wearing poppies? Would those people be able to be outraged and have the freedom to say what they want under a facist regime? Doubtful.

They are two different games though and i can see how people could enjoy either. I actually really liked Black Ops. Still play it now. But the online is just so pointless when you think about it. The maps are so tiny and basically circular that you just go round and round doing the same-thing. The fact you don't have a starting base or somewhere to defend makes it no different from say Unreal Tournament. Kill or be killed. No skill to it at all as no matter what you do or how good you are your be dead every 5 mins or so. BF3 is about realism, about immersion. Seeing people get blown up, crying out for medical aid, running out of ammo and so on makes you realise that you have one life and you should protect it. You won't get far without your team-mates. Being in a tank doesn't mean you invincible and an attack chopper is not so great against a jet fighter. There is a sense of a food chain, you know your strengths and you know your weaknesses. This makes it un-predictable. Running and gunning is predictable, your die in the same way countless times over and over. The matches will be the same over and over. For me personally i prefer realism. That is why i love games like Football Manager and Fifa. Simulation suits my game-style better then arcade. But as i say you can see why people like either of them. It is all down to personal play styles. MW3 though is more of an add-on then a new game. Look at the leap from BF2 to BF3 in regards to graphics, sound, gameplay and so on. It is huge. There is no jump from MW2 to MW3 at all. I think even the biggest COD fan can at least agree with that.

Reason i couldn't get on was because i had de-activated pnp on my router or something like that......don't even know how i did that but ah well at least it works now! That is the great thing about the internet, your always find someone else with the same problem who finds a way to fix it! Anyhow Multi-player is actually a bit better then MW2 i have found. There are some cool elements to it. Like for example if you kill someone you have to collect their dog tags. This gives you points which you now use to get the old kill streak attacks i.e chopper attack and so on. It means snipers have to get off their ass and go collect the tags or they get no points! However i do still think the game is just a death grindhouse. There is no real skill/teamwork to it. You all just go around and around and around. This is where BF3 destroys it. There are reasons for taking over certain areas of the map. In MW3 it is the same as the other cod's were it just seems about the deaths and the xp. You could do it asleep. The other thing that ****es me off is that they have now taken out the nuke and put in a new perk....."The mother of all bombs". Basically what this does is kill everyone in the opposing team no matter where they are. Thankfully it is pretty difficult to get. All in all i think i still prefer black ops. I just think this is just the annual cod game and it is starting to look very stale, a cash in game rather then making any real progress for the franchise. The campaign was dreadful and the multi-player is slightly better then MW2 but worse then BO's. I think the 9 score reviews it has got is a fine example of how the current review system is wrong as so many sites nowdays give games high scores based on hype or what the company has done for them. Thankfully Eurogamer and Gamespot didn't follow suit and gave it a fair review. It isn't ground breaking, it doesn't take the series in a new direction, it is still very repetative and and is deffinatly the worst of the 3.

I managed to get my copy this morning so have had a few hours in the campaign. Tried to play the multi-player but it wouldn't let me as kept saying "couldn't connect to servers". Maybe they don't go live until midnight or something? Based on the campaign though i thought it was pretty meh so far. The guns all sound the same and the graphics now look a bit dated when compared to uncharted 3, batman and battlefield 3 etc. MW2 was my least fav in the COD series so was hoping for a big improvement but to be honest it seems the worse of the bunch to me (again based on the campaign). It just seems really repetative, i.e "here is a guy walking, he has not seen you yet, kill him". "here is another guy who has not seen you, kill him". "feck these guys have now seen you, shoot them!" Then magically as you get further in the next batch of guards didn't hear the gun fire or grenades going off so have no clue they are under attack. Stuff like that just makes it look really lazy. Granted it is a whole new bunch of guys working on it after everyone left IW but still it could of had a few of the basics done a bit better. But to be fair i don't think many of us fps fans play these games for the stories and campaign these days. We are bombarded with fps games so naturally the multi-player will be where it is at. But it just seems a step backwards from MW2 thus far. Even the menu's seem a bit **** compared to MW1. It is a shame though as COD:BO is/was my fav in the series. You would of thought they could of looked at how Treyarch had gone about it and make the game a bit more interactive in certain areas. To make it not seem so lineer. For those of you wanting it on pc can get it from here for £26.65 (which will be used on steam) and get a free copy of MW1 not bad http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/modern-warefare-3-pc-gamesplanet-com-26-65-1054370

Before his goal this year didn't he only score in the carling cup i thought? Not sure if they include cup goals?
-
Yeah but this trailer only shows Los Santos thus far. I think with the other trailers they will then have them in individually. Doing it that way will crank up the hype meter for sure! It is without a doubt San Andreas though because if you look at the numberplates on the cars it has it written on them! This would of been everything i wanted GTA5 to be. The feel of Vice City with the open worldness of San Andreas! I really hope they have gone back to the old GTAs. It made for so much better missions. GTA4 was just go here shoot this guy, escape and repeat. Pick up friend, take him to teetee bar, take him home, go bowling and so on. They need to get back to the fun factor. Doing missions in SA was so varied and interesting. Like flying those little planes, doing that model level where you had to get from one side to the other.
-
So Los Santos it is then, nice to see my prediction was right! I think that is Tommy Vercetti from Vice City which will make it even more epic!
-
Thoughts go out to him and his family. Is a very sad story and makes you realise that football is not as important as we at times make it out to be. Took a lot of courage for him to go out there and play tonight.
-
Have to say this is probably the best multi-player i have played on pc. 64 man conquest is just outstanding. The whole sound and physics make the fire fights seem so vicious. Takes awhile to get the hang of things and learn the maps but is worth it in the end.
-
Lowe leaving for the last time if i remember right?
-
I really like it. It will get much better as the patches roll out. BF2 started off in the same way and that ended up being epic. The only thing i truely hate is Origin. Wish we didn't have to use that.
-
Single player sucks! But that was to be expected really. Multi-player is awesome though!
-
I did. I typed that on my phone, i guess the predictive text thought i meant that electric inventor guy! But yes it is in Oklahoma well done. I only know the place from doing route 66. They said it was the oil capital of the world.....

GTA is a dominant american game. To give you an example GTA4 on 360 sold 6m in US and 3m in the rest of the world. Meaning 66% of its sales were in america. My point was why would they choose a city with no landmarks? GTA games are known for ripping off real life landmarks such as the statue of liberty, hollywood hills, US bank, Transamerica pyramid, golden gate bridge, hoover dam, vegas strip etc etc. Those are world renown landmarks. As someone who spends a lot of time in america i can tell you straight they will have no clue about Nottingham. My partner is american. Her dad knows very little about the cities of England just as in the same way you probably only know about american cities from tv shows or movies. It is the same for them but there are no movies or tv shows in america from here. The only ones they truely know are London and Liverpool because of the UK invasion in the 60s and 70s. If they make a game fully based in Nottingham then i would be shocked. Add to that the just pure randomness of it. They would then have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars hyping up the game to sell to everyone outside of the UK and somehow i doubt people will get excited for it in the same way they would San Andreas and GTA 4. Vice City is Miami. The whole 80s thing. The colourful shirts, the parties, the drugs etc. All GTA games have been set in america apart from GTA London which if i remember right didn't get released outside of the UK? There was an awesome game set in London called "The Getaway". This was like an English GTA. It was a big budget Sony game for the PS2 at the height of its popularity. Got great reviews. Totally bombed sales wise. Outside of the UK it sold just 1m copies. Sony were thinking of bringing it back for this generation and started work on it but then canned it as a financial risk. As i said i would be shocked if they made Nottingham the main part of the game. I just can't see that happening at all. A side mission perhaps. But not the city simply because nobody knows it. I bet few of us have even been there. I have only to watch Saints games. It is like saying to you where is the city of Telsa? I will give you a clue it is in America and has nearly double the population of Nottingham. Plus on top of that on the forum http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showforum=239 there is nothing at all about Nottingham and these guys are total nerds. If there is a shred of evidence out there linking to it you would of thought they would of found it.
-
Gamespot have their predictions and none have Nottingham. Seeing as they have a close relationship with Rockstar you would of thought one of their people would of heard this rumour about Nottingham, but nope no mention of it. Most seem to think it will be San Andreas or whatever they decide to call Washington. Pretty sure there is no chance of it being Nottingham simply because it would be financial suicide. Americans who are the main audience are not so good on geography. Most of them will not even know what Nottingham is let alone where it is. Unless it is a GTA Medieval where you steal horses there is no point basing it there. There are no international landmarks. There is nothing to spoof other then Robin Hood. My money is on Vinewood aka Hollywood ala Los Angeles (Los Santos). The question then becomes how much of San Andreas do they want to re-create. Will they make all of the cities again i.e San Fierro, Vinewood, Los Santos, Los Venturas etc. I think they will just settle on one city and will be LA. They have so much work done on it recently i.e Midnight Club and LA Noire. Add to that at the end of the story of GTA4 episodes Packie leaves on a plane and in the manual is a photo of an airport ticket to San Andreas. It would not surprise me one bit to see Packie be the main character for GTA 5. But personally i really hope they go back to an 80s or 90s theme. Nottingham could be in there as a brief visit mission but not as a roaming city. Can't see that happening at all. The anger aimed at Rockstar from the US fans would be huge.

Is it just me or can anyone else hardly see the football in the 3d games? Maybe my eyes have started to go tits up or something!
