The situation is that Nigel and was given an ultimatum last night by Southampton to resign and accept their offer, said Wharton You cant do that in football, there are procedures to go through as above But Nigel was not prepared to do that. He wanted to walk out of Glanford Park with his head held high and everything agreed Fair play to him, and how it should be done I have tried to contact the Southampton chairman today but have not been able to get hold of him WTF! Surely Cortese knows he must be talking to them I was not prepared to roll over and let Nigel leave for nothing. I wanted some compensation for what I felt he was worth. It was only a modest amount So he should But I also feel very sorry for Nigel if this was a move that he had set his heart on. The Southampton people have been very difficult to deal with. They are probably not the right sort of people for Nigel to be working with mmmmmmm someone else have a dig at the club and it seems they have a case too.

NO!!!!! Les Reid is a respected person in football but I dont agree that his decisions can interfere with AP's. AP or who ever the new manger is should have overall say on first team matters, and the statement from the club "embrace bot the first team and the football development & support centre as intergrated co-operative units" shows this was an issue for AP

I wouldnt go that far as Les Reid is an asset I believe, but AP should be the main man. People have said that LR sits on the scouting committee, thats fine for younger players but AP should have the otherall say. LR should be in charge of the development or youth as it used to be called and thats fine. Like others have said it seems NC is looking to LR for guidance and is like a DOF as such but not in title. So who ever comes in I think will be a younger manager who will accept the arrangment and look to LR for some guidance.

In essence, and Ill put my head on the line for this Pardew sacking is going to affect us worse than the 10 points deduction we had last season. Forget all the rumour **** about players and bust ups it never happened. Alan Pardew not being able to be a football manager is what happened. The developement of players which is basically the youth squad and the first team should all have been over seen by AP from day one and had no interference from Les Reid etc etc. Cortese constantly backing Reid above AP in footballing decsions is a disgrace and will bite us in the ass. The quicker we can someone in the better but Im fearing that who ever it is will have no real input and be over shadowed by certain members of the management team and ceo. The players I have spoken to are not really happy about things at present and you can see it in the way they play. Getting promoted this year? mmmmmmmmmm personaly I dont think so. So maybe if NC gets his man etc we can hope for next year at best, but it will be a long ride Im afraid. As for people singing for Pardew today, why not we have more success under him than we have had in anyone for years. He was the right man and people know that. But like it says all above this mis management / timing is going to be worse than the -10 we got last year!

FFS, not being funny I could make up 10 stoires off the top of my head that would fit the odds circumstances, 9 of them could be totally outragous involving fast cars, hookers and drugs and one that says the continuing differences between NC and AP came to a head and NC terminated his contract with immeadiate effect as is done in the football world weekly

to sum it up, this is a bit of gossip that people maybe are wanting to be true so that AP's sacking can be justified and NC can move on to take our club to bigger and better things

What? for a major incident? Players handing in transfer requests? Fighting? no way, he would have been put on gardening leave, not taken training etc etc and then out of the door. To add to that all 3 coaches were sacked, so if there was a mjor problem between them 3 and the team , training etc would have been a nightmare.

Really? If this allegation was brought to NC's attention with players threatening to hand in transfer requests etc, this would have been dealt with sooner ,maybe not his contract terminated but he would have been put on gardening leave, withdrawn from his position until further notice and this does happen in football ie Martin Allen I beleive was put on gardening leave. It would have not been left 3 weeks!

Sorry but this is all ********!. We have seen it before, everytime a player or manager leaves unexpected one of these stories crops up. A few years back we had an issue where a player was ****ging another wife and it nearly got the old forum shut down apart from some pleading to the players and their wives directly stopped legal action being taken. You have to look at 1. The players performance against Swindon, if Pardew was such a **** then surely they would all be relieved andplay great, but no we get a team who look really ****ed off and couldnt give a crap. The game beofre we played great against Bolton. 2. The player concerned - So far I have heard 3 different names 3. The "incident" was meant to have happened over 3 weeks ago, so why leave till a day before the transfer window. TBH honest I didnt take much notice of the rumour until just a bit was forwarded to me by a mate "There is no one being lined up as of yet, this is an unfortunate situation we find ourselves in but we need to back Cortese during what has undeniably been a hard time for him recently. Applications are being sifted through and candidates being selected for interviews

Doesnt surprise me at all. Just proves even more NC is not the man to be leading us forward on football matters. This is a quick desicion and a bad one at that. We win 4-0, Players have just signed, and the transfer window shuts tomorrow. who the hell is going to come in now. No worries if we dont make it this year, good Nicola can say well we have had to start again!

Have to say I'm also a little concerned, in the league we have dropped in my opinion 5 points already, the nice tight gelled team we had last year is no more ie we lost 2 key players in MA and PW which have not been replaced. I know we have no right to have won the last 2 league games but, the money we have spent, the team we have, we now should be sat with more than 1 point
