I wouldn't say we're in a relegation fight considering we're 12 game in and we have got 15 points from those games - we'd be 11th if it wasn't for the 10point deduction. If we're still in the bottom 4 in January then we'll be in a relegation fight, but I can't see that happening.

I thought the Sheffield Wednesday fans were good at Hillsborough last season. Charlton are the worst I've ever seen.

What a stupid thing to say.
-
Excellent post, I couldn't agree more.
-
Why don't you just ignore it then if it bothers you so much. I doubt that the players like it any more than you do, I'm sure they know it's just empty rhetoric for the benefit of the media.

Of course but he's a bit naive if he expected anything different. I don't think I've ever heard a comment from any football player or anyone involved with football that isn't meaningless and irritating.

Can anyone see Cortese putting up with this much longer ?

Liebherr out! -
I'd be happy with a point up there. Then we have to beat bristol at home and get into the points

Lowe left the club on 2 April. Are you saying that 2 April was the start of 'better times at st marys'? considering we were still in danger of going out of business? You might as well say going into administration is the reason, because we went into administration, got a new owner with money to spend, better times at st marys, hence increase in support. I think it would be more accurate to say that a certain mr Liebherr arrived so we are getting good attendances.
-
If it was all because of Lowe then why did we get 18,925 attendance for the first home game, 17,000+ against wolves and watford (more than against Colchester this season), 26,000+ against Forest and 30,000+ against United?

He's probably embellished the story to generate publicity for the book. Possibly even made it up completely.

Also too expensive

They are definitely too high. Just reducing them by a couple of quid would make them seem a lot more reasonable. Although the Young Adult price is fair. I think they should at least have a loyalty scheme to reward non-ST holders who attend on a semi-regular basis as that would encourage them (me) to go to a few more towards the end of the season.

AP's Reason for not picking Gillett
londonsaint1604 replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
When did you last watch him play? Maybe his passing has improved a lot recently, to compliment his already outstanding work rate. -
Nothing wrong with a bit of friendly banter between like-minded sports fans.
-
He's saving that for the sequel. It does sound a bit suspect to me, considering the convenient fact that he neither won nor lost anything from the bet.
-
Maybe it's not true or just embellished to make his book more appealing.
-
To be fair to Ali Dia he came very close to scoring on his debut.

Poll: Happy with our signings this season?
londonsaint1604 replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
Very happy with the ones I've seen. Dan Harding in particular looks very good and obviously Lambert has already shown that he will score goals this season. Murty looked great til he got injured but I haven't seen Trotman, Hammond or Melis play yet. -
So, what happened to the other 2 signings?
londonsaint1604 replied to Deanovski's topic in The Saints
They didn't happen. -
You know absolutely **** all if you think Wotton is a more effective CM than Gillett. And stop making up stuff about how you're a qualified coach at the age of 19.
-
It's probably got something to do with earning more money.

Schneiderlin wants to Leave / Rasiak
londonsaint1604 replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Bloody French! League 1 is probably a higher standard than their top tier anyway. -
To be honest it makes no difference to me what team 'J Bizzle' off the saints forum did or didn't play for. It's not exactly hard to make things up on the internet, the real question is why would you? Anyway you claim to have played against Simon Gillett and that you are well placed to judge his ability even though he plays at a much higher level than you ever could. That's why it is vaguely relevant. If you had played at that level though I would imagine you would have more sense than to write off a decent player on the basis of a 20-minute appearance after a long spell on the sidelines.
-
He hasn't given him a chance though. He should at least start him instead of Wotton and see how he does. It can't be any worse!
