  1. My only car crash happened on Friday 13th. Was the Friday before Saints were due to play away at Man City. My car was a right off which meant i was unable to drive to Maine Road & missed Iain Dowie scoring in a one nil win:D
  2. Somers Town ?
  3. Roy Keane's odds have been slashed from 66-1 to around 6-1 after some large betting going on yesterday
  4. Headline still there 1 min ago
  5. Would probably still be in the Prem if had not been sacked that season.
  6. i have so missed a good takeover thread.
  7. MIKE: Worse things happen at sea. RICK: Like what, Mike? Like what?! MIKE: Well, like, you could be on a nice cruise in the South China Sea, having a lovely time. There's terrible weather, a big storm, and the ship sinks. You fall overboard, you're drowning! This big shark swims up to you and says, "By the way, Saints are going down." That's when you panic. Come on!
  8. Absolute blizzard here in Bournemouth now...gonna be a fun drive back through the New Forest later if this carries on
  9. I remember the fans calling for his head at the time though.....the fanzine at the time had on it's cover a picture of CN with the headline 'should I stay I should i go' relating to the Clash track that was out at the time. I think I remember the fans even singing it away at a evening game at Notts Forest. Will always remember his last game in charge & the 6-2 defeat at Derby though when the theme of the day was musical instruments
  10. Sure did...it was bl**dy cold that night if I remember rightly. It was valantines night & Matty scorred after about 30seconds & even more amazingly Craig Maskell scored I remember it was so cold a pipe burst above the East stand terrace showering everyone with cold water :smt088
  11. More PR crap from the club to try a gain some sympathy before saturday. Probably got the idea off the agent that fed the skates news that death threats had been sent to Jermaine Defoe & Nigel Quashie before they left.
  12. Did anyone hear any of our midfield being mentioned during that 1st half FFS ?
  13. I tend to think that most fans look at WGS tenure at St Mary's with rose tinted glasses. Don't get me wrong I think he was our best manager since Bally & will always thank him for the Fa Cup run & europe but I remember at his time of leaving, we were absolutley shocking....will always remember a home against Leicester as one of the worst games I have ever witnessed with Neil McCant getting so much abuse.
  14. If we are so close to administration, then why have we not seen Lalana, Surman, Davis heading out the door ? There must have been clubs sniffing around offering a few million which would have surely have kept the wolfs from the door for a few months ? Even if they went for peanuts, I would have thought we would have seen more player movement just to get them of the wage bill. Also what about this piece of land worth millions that apparently we own ? All gone quiet on this front.
  15. Why no Glenn Hoddle on that list ?
  16. I think you will find we have been a soap opera for years

  18. Great thread. So sad to hear about the illness of Kevin Moore. Will always remember him rising majestically to head in (the equaliser ?) against Forest in the ZDS final.
  19. Boris' idea of scrapping Heathrow & building a new airport in the Thames estuary sounds the most logical. Flights can come in straight in over the sea meaning less disruption, noise & polution.
  20. I liked the post on the Echo website stating that Drainage is a Nazi with his Hitler salutes at the end of each broadcast.
  21. I once through threw a water bomb at Chris Boardman...true story
  22. What sort of message will it send out ?? On one hand to be told to recycle, use low energy light bulbs, cut down on car jouneys etc etc but then whats the point when the Govt then give permission to allow extra hundreds of thousand for flights a year. Seems very little point in little me making an effort
  23. My mum won the football pools back in 1976 just after we won the FA Cup. She had her winning cheque presented to her by Bobby Stokes & said he was a really nice, down to earth bloke. As a nipper, I used to sit on the front row of the East stand bench seats.....I once threw the ball back to Kevin Keegan & he said 'thanks'. In the words of Stu, 'you wish you were me' :yawinkle:
  24. Thats gotta be a Greenwich Saint if ever there was one :yawinkle:
