Anyone know why there's no Saints logo's on the Black coaching/training jackets?
-
Yes. I did paraphrase though, his exact quote was: "We will try to speed us the decisions that need to be made because, if we can't get things sorted by 1 July, players are going to have trouble adapting." http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/mauricio-pochettino-threatens-to-quit-southampton-if-nicola-cortese-leaves-8620017.html

I personally wasn't saying we're unexperienced in the transfer market, just passing on the advice of a trusted journo (in regards to Saints) that we are (in his opinion) unexperienced in the transfer market.
-
The issue with that is that is: A. Got fans hopes up that we'd actually be able to get our arse in gear and sign almost everyone we wanted to sign before July 1st. B. MoPo was assured (behind the scenes) that we'd make signings quickly, before pre-season and it hasn't come to fruition, we've only signed Loven for pete's sake and Wanyama is signing for Cardiff this week.

Conversation between some Saints fans and Alan Nixon (Mirror Journalist that is usually pretty reliable when it comes to Saints News/Rumours): tom7lawrence: @reluctantnicko seems quiet at St. Mary's, any saints news Al? reluctantnicko: @tom7lawrence Too quiet. tom7lawrence: @reluctantnicko is that quiet before the storm u think? reluctantnicko: @tom7lawrence There will be a storm if it stays this quiet. Coach wanted players. The Don demanded the cheque book ... Who to blame now? tom7lawrence: @reluctantnicko sounds like a conspiracy theory u have there ha ha reluctantnicko: @tom7lawrence No. The Don wanted control. He got control. If he can't sign players it is on him. No-one else. tom7lawrence: @reluctantnicko so is it wages , agents fees, over ambitious targets or a combination of all 3? reluctantnicko: @tom7lawrence Seems like targets are good but problems crop up. Best word to cover all of the failed deals is 'inexperience in market' d9scott: @reluctantnicko @tom7lawrence there still a while in the window. not quite the time to expect the worst So seems like Les Reed/Cortese have picked out a number of key targets during the season to buy in the summer, said to MoPo that they'll be plenty of signings but don't really know how to do complete the signing of a player. Worrying if this is true, would hope we're a bit more savvy in the transfer market than Nixon thinks.

The 2nd stage was another thriller, really didn't have a clue who was going to win it right up until the last couple of kilometres. I too stood up and shouted at the television when the dog was in the road, I'm so glad he didn't get run over. Won't be able to watch the 3rd stage live tomorrow as I'm at Wimbledon all day, but I'll definitely watch the highlights tomorrow night.

I studied that when I was ordering it. Unfortunately it doesn't match up with Swansea, Chelsea's or Stoke's Adidas size guide on their websites so I just had to make a guess really that the Large would be big enough, hope it isn't tent-like.

Just ordered mine online. Not sure what the sizes are like on the new shirt. Had a medium last season so went with a Large Adidas just in case.

The man's an utter cretin. He used to ring up 'The Saint' radio station after every home game and start with the sentence 'Now I'm only a Junior soccer coach here in LA...but I'd do this, this and this with the team and leave this guy, that guy and this other guy on the bench and start x, y or z in his place' -

Why don't we build a giant ship and play our games at sea? Southampton is a sea port afterall? -
The 1st stage was absolutely bat-sh!t crazy, really surprised there weren't more crashes towards the end. Loved the Corsican scenery, what a bloody gorgeous island!

I don't like it. I love it, one of the nicest away kits we've ever had. Far better than the bland, boring yellow/blue combo dross in my opinion.
-
I actually said some people on the forum are angry/frustrated about the new kits, not all. I was simply providing an apt tongue in cheek gif that probably represents a minority of people on this forum. Since you replied to me directly and tried to falsify my opinion I think I probably hit a nerve. I never said anywhere in my previous post that people can't express themselves. People are welcome to express their opinions, it is the whole point of a forum. Just as people are welcome to express a counter opinion and an indifferent opinion if they so choose.
-
Hilarious to me how anyone can get so wound up/angry about a couple of football kits. I imagine some on this forum reacted like this to the new kits:
-
No point really, I was just interested.
-
I can't go down to the Megastore on Monday anyway as I'll be at Wimbledon. I'll probably order it online on Sunday, don't know whether I can be arsed with queuing this year...although it was an 'experience' of sorts last year, plus saw JWP in the queue.

Potential player signings tomorrow with new kit???

It depends who you follow I suppose. Generally I'd say 60% of the people I follow are genuine, interesting people with a valid opinion and clear liberal, easy going way of life. The other 40% are ignorant, deluded idiots (the majority of this bunch are football fans of Saints and other clubs) that probably couldn't find their way out of a box. I will say however that when you apply the good/bad ratio to Saints fans on twitter the majority/minority swings the other way, I'd say only 20% of Saints fans on twitter are worth following, the other 80% are idiots.
