Did anyone actually watch Lambert before buying him or was it on reputation alone

Well I suppose so but I cannot believe we will go down Perhaps if we had played Gillingham last night and Rovers on Saturday things would look a little different

I did not suggest that Wotte would be the long term answer but possibly the short term one I suggested that time should have been taken to find a DOF who would have been responsible for football matters and producing a realistic plan of how the club was going to move forward. Wotte could have run the team and when or if results were not good could have easily been replaced with someone by the DOF Now we do not seem to have any options and will have to stick with Pardew who may turn out OK but will be probably feeling the pressure. However the board may only want to survive this season and go forward next season we dont really know what their current aims are

Not by me but by most of the happy clappy in Pardew we trust Brigade as you suggest However we are no further away from safety than when we started and have not played many of the other crap teams in the division so there is no point in changing anything at the moment.

I was wondering whether he scored lots of goals last season because Rovers were a good team or because he was good player They dont seemed to have missed him very much. I did see some post on another thread that apart from last season Lambert has not been a really prolific scorer

Delgado was a very good international goal scorer injured and of no value to Saints. waigo needs time but coming to League 1 he is not going to be that good probably

I dont disagree with your comment about the subs not making any difference. But perhaps Mellis should not have started Waigo may have been knackered and there was no other choice for CM than Wotton

Well lots of posters on here said the same thing and it was factually correct Perhaps if he had said "If we win tonight we'll have less points than Pompey". you may have had a point but I would have thought that you have posted a pointless thread and only replying as I wait to take my daughter to work

OK Pardew is doing a fine job nine points from ten games he picks the teams and makes the substitutions buys the players appoints the coaches

But he still has done a crap job with the squad he has avialable I would have thought

Well someone must be to blame for our performances I would have thought usually the manager but often Lowe. And Alpine above is quite correct ML and Cortese may well be here for the long haul, but that doesnt preclude wanting to see evidence of improvement, in whatever small steps they deem satisfactory. 9 points from 10 games, and still in the negative come October, is not good enough.

I would suggest that you forget about Pardew at other clubs and focus on him here

An interesting question Although we are 10 points a drift we are not getting further away from safety so unless we get further away I suggest he will not be removed. We dont really know what the new regime are expecting this season

So Pardew is here for the next three seasons even if he is not up to the task? By the way I am not saying he wont turn things around just concerned about what will happen if he does not.

Well I hope you are right but running a football club is a lot different from running a bank or finacial institution ask Mr Lowe Wilde and Crouch. What is Cortese's criteria for success at SFC and what does he have to spend to meet these criteria

That may well be the case but a least something could have been done if things went wrong. But now we cant really get rid of Pardew who now has a run of Twenty league games with only one win

I think your continual fixation with Alpine is making a fool of you. His point is very valid. But I dont think Cortese has much room to monuerve if he had waited kept Wotte appointed a DOF then things could have easily changed if results do not improve

But at least Pardew and the players are well paid for their efforts
