Dont think I like people call Brett -
So why are people having a go at him. Alan Ball left us twice Mick Channon also left that is just life.
-
But Stands are named in memory of a person or event and his goal will be etched on my memory like Geoff Hurst last goal for ever
-
I dont think anybody could saying anything bad about Ted Bates and I dont really know what bad things have been said about Lawrie Mac. He did leave us in the lurch which of course Ted did not but that was twenty five years ago .
-
Well you live and you learn He must have like Blue as he was involved at both Ipswich and Birmingham City
-
Yes I agree but Thomas could be useful I would have thought at League 1 Level
-
Bobby Stokes ?
-
Yes that was before substitutes injured players often stayed on mostly on the wing in order to stop the full back going forward
-
Nobody else has a long enough run I would have thought apart from Surman and Lallana

I was thinking that too. But getting a couple of good strikers is going to be difficult I would have thought. -
Well cricket clubs manage it OK as I said

Yes I stupidly said he made some sensible points which he does but now his tone has changed completely -
Take say the £3m for Jones that went on Euell's and John's Wages
-
Man U Chelsea etc can service the debt but I doubt if Pompey can long term And the Gulf is getting wider I notice Man U and Liverpool are interested in Lennon of Spurs
-
Nick Holmes started out in Mid Field and played a lot at full back. Paine played a lot in centre midfield later in his career.
-
Yes but I still dont think we gave Mills Cranie Blackstock etc a real chance Perhaps if they had they may have stayed they were all U21/U19 internationals so they must have had some talent
-
Probably the same with Mills and Cranie too
-
It seems to be similar in other countries like Spain Italy and Germany does nt it?
-
So with a mean of 15th Statistically there was a high chance that one day we would finish in the relegation position. Somebody with a good knowledge of Statistics could probably work it out
-
I dont know whether other clubs have stands named after managers and players but cricket grounds do especially Lords with The Compton Edrich and Warner stands Ted Bates Terry Paine MLT Mick Channon I would have thought were worthy too

I would have thought a talented footballer whose Saints career probably ended when John arrived. -

Unlike you I do not know everything regarding NC19 But the contents of most of his postings are sensible We were referred to earlier as a big club. Even with a hated chairman big club's can pull in an average crowd well over 17,000. We are a club that is as delusional about its status as many of its fans. 125 years next year and how many in the top flight? Somewhere between 35-40? Jonah, Frank's Cousin and a few others can talk about this stuff much better than me but I don't so much defend Lowe but support the requirement for a much needed sense of perspective and beware of the enemy within. Although the enemy within comment does not seem very sensible I agree
