  1. Man U Chelsea etc can service the debt but I doubt if Pompey can long term And the Gulf is getting wider I notice Man U and Liverpool are interested in Lennon of Spurs
  2. Nick Holmes started out in Mid Field and played a lot at full back. Paine played a lot in centre midfield later in his career.
  3. Yes but I still dont think we gave Mills Cranie Blackstock etc a real chance Perhaps if they had they may have stayed they were all U21/U19 internationals so they must have had some talent
  4. Probably the same with Mills and Cranie too
  5. It seems to be similar in other countries like Spain Italy and Germany does nt it?
  6. So with a mean of 15th Statistically there was a high chance that one day we would finish in the relegation position. Somebody with a good knowledge of Statistics could probably work it out
  7. I dont know whether other clubs have stands named after managers and players but cricket grounds do especially Lords with The Compton Edrich and Warner stands Ted Bates Terry Paine MLT Mick Channon I would have thought were worthy too
  8. I would have thought a talented footballer whose Saints career probably ended when John arrived.
  9. Unlike you I do not know everything regarding NC19 But the contents of most of his postings are sensible We were referred to earlier as a big club. Even with a hated chairman big club's can pull in an average crowd well over 17,000. We are a club that is as delusional about its status as many of its fans. 125 years next year and how many in the top flight? Somewhere between 35-40? Jonah, Frank's Cousin and a few others can talk about this stuff much better than me but I don't so much defend Lowe but support the requirement for a much needed sense of perspective and beware of the enemy within. Although the enemy within comment does not seem very sensible I agree
  10. Not every one is perfect I dont remember that one I apologise because like you I think that type of post is not very nice So you dont like the hysterical tirades on here either
  11. Yes very good piece
  12. I would suggest that 19NC is one of the more sensible posters on here he usually seems to post realistic stuff not hysterical tirades against Lowe. Of course you dont have to agree with him but some do. It is quite obvious to many people that Lowe is not totally to blame for our current situation at least he had the courage to try to help. It did not work but I dont think anybody could have saved as from administration in the current financial conditions after SFC bought in Saga Euell and John for huge wages in the misguided belief that if the club was successful the club would be bought. The whole strategy fron 2006 when Lowe left appeared to be that someone was going to invest heavily in the club and every thing would be OK It is not like that other ex Premiership clubs are not in a similar position But nobody will ever know and having board members from hell has not helped
  13. It is not only the players wages it is also the other backroom staff and apprentices who need paying
  14. I dont live in Soton these days so most people I know are not Saints supporters and are generally sympathetic to our plight. Including a Pompey one who thinks they will be in the same position soon as a number of their players are likely to be sold so relegation is a strong possibility for next season
  15. Nobody from Samoa is likely to put in a bid today are they?
  16. Lawro blaming the gamble of clubs spending to get back in the Prem causing the financial problems resulting in relegation. Yes I totally agree with Lawro on that
  17. I was out today in Winchester got home fully expecting to here something interesting absolutely nothing. So I suppose now back to the football on Saturday
  18. Strange but somebody agrees with me. The only crime Crouch is guilty of is believing Mr Wilde that investment was imminentand appointing Gorman and Dodd. Although at the time I thought it was a good move as Crouch was hinting that investment was around the corner and we were not near the relegation zone
  19. Yes I know but only part time
  20. So we are on a Countdown until Tuesday
  21. I think the money cannot be found either at the moment
  22. Well thats not good then because he may well be looking for a job at St Mary's surely it is better for him to be gainfully employed else where
