And another thing.... Nugent & Utaka on £30k/week+ Mokoena, Mullins, Brown, Hughes, Webber, Wilson & Smith all on at least £20k/week + presumably some contribution towards Sonko & Dickinson's prem wages, + 10 others on some sort of wage is going to be way above any sort of budget agreed in the CVA yet they seem happy to hang onto all of the above, plus trying to get the likes of Rocha back if he accepts their £10k wage cap. (Which, btw, from Cotterill's comments the other day suggested that he was on way more than that last season when they signed him whilst broke.) As usual with the CHEATS, the numbrs just don't add up

Who should we get in as Lambert's back up?

Absolute donkey. I went to watch Aldershot last season & he was awful, fell over & rolled about on the ground Ricardo Fuller-like, claiming to be in agony, at least ten times and missed two absolute sitters. No thanks. -
As previously noted with Al-Mirage, even proof of existence is not a pre-requisite

Cheats 1 Karma 1

I was wondering if that was for real. It is so hard to tell the difference from our high-class sarcasm and the genuine mental grunts of the mongs

One thing I'm sure of is more dirty dealing, overpaying players and wriggling out of debt and wracking up new debt as Chainrai will give it one big shot at getting back to the Prem, and if they succeed it will be the biggest travesty of justice since I don't know when. Actually, thinking about it, I do know when - the 2008 Cup Final......

I don't supposed they ever considered going into the £2 or £3k/week market more appropriate to a club that has just defrauded us taxpayers of £20million pounds. CHEATS

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.

Sad day. He seemed like a genuinely decent bloke & will always be a Saints legend. -
Bah! If it wasn't for those pesky kids...... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/39Please-don39t-send-me-out.6468079.jp

That is the bit that p1sses me off. One of the biggest wage bills in the division having slimed out of all their debts. Transfer fees aren't the issue any more in football - it's wages. With £13 mill for wages a half decent manager could comfortably put a promtion team together. Effing CHEATS.
-
Only one conclusion to draw from today - we HAVE to have a back-up centre-forward. Barnard & Connolly will always be too lightweight for that role. Otherwise frustrating but not distarous in an utterly predictable first home game & on sky double cursed sort of way.

You sort of hope it is the start of karma being played out.... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Blades-to-sign-Jordan.6461238.jp

I've just been catching up with this and do you know what? I really don't care that effing much. I thought I would but I don't. I do think justice has not been served, but that seems to happen a lot. On the plus side this thread has been great fun through the footie-less months but there's a new season starting on Saturday. And when the media furore ends Poopey will just be another potless CCC club whose sister-fondling, fish-molesting, knuckle-dragging fans will return to their caravan parks for another fifty years of obscurity as we march onwards and upwards.

I've been thinking about today & what I want from it. Seeing them heading for liquidation and expulsion from the league would, in the short term, be brilliant fun, but I think it might feel like a hollow victory come November when we are top of the league and your Pompey colleagues & mates can feign indifference because they are no longer interested in football. What I want is the following: To see a widespread acceptance that they cheated their way to two cup finals & Europe To stop the mongs bleating on about how unfairly they have been treated & accept that they have had the rules bent for them more than any bankrupt club ever. To see them pay their effing taxes like the rest of us (and for the mongs to accept that that is not an unfair expectation) To see Agent Harry finally get his comeuppance. (Storrie, who cares? Nothing to do with us beyond comedy value) To see them pay for their crimes against football by getting relegated & having to put out teams as bad as we had to when we were bust. To see them signing league two players, not Prem players, on loan & not expecting to keep England's goalie and other internationals. To accept that £3k/week might be a realistic wage cap not 10k (which is still higher than most of the CCC) And most of all, just to feel that justice has been done and to reassure us chaps that CHEATS really don't prosper

Don't know why I woke up feeling so pessimistic, but to really give a boost to the Nickite tendency - there are about half a dozen clubs teetering on the edge of administration - Cardiff, Hull, Preston Watford to name but a few, so if they get away with it today they might not even need to worry unduly about relegation. (And their starting eleven v Coventry will be one of the strongest in the CCC). Actually this gloom is all my son's fault. He said that yesterday afternoon looking west from Chichester the sky was as black as anything everywhere except over Portsmouth where the sky was blue & he took this as a bad omen. Oh well, maybe we will have to go and sacrifice a goat or a virgin or something to the mighty deity of HMRC
-
The only agenda they ever had - including the Crouch shenanigans - was to help Poopey limp through to the end of the season and go away and stop being an embarrassment to their precious brand. They messed up and are going to have to take the blame and Scudamore is just getting his defence in before Dave Richards.

I think the issue with the football creditors is this, Should someone who is guaranteed, by whatever means, to receive 100% of what is owed be allowed to vote on whether the remainder of creditors are prepared to accept 20% of their due. That cannot possibly be seen as fair.

Like I said yesterday - another day, another lol at the Skates

I don't hate the guy by any means and he is always a trier, but he is limited in his ability and really doesn't have much of a future with us

This is why I love this thread. Every day, rain or shine, there is some new little snippet of information to bring a smile to my face

And what exactly is the problem with that? Wouldn't it be awful to lose all that shady money coming in from abroad to be churned and squandered, the huge and growing disparity betweem the Prem (TM bestest league in the world) and the rest of football, those egotistical foreign owners, over-rated foreign managers and diving, cheating mercenary foreign players (mostly) only here for a quick and easy buck, the hideous creature that is Sky dominating our game and all those JCL fans who have the shirt but only watch football on the TV. I'm not sure I would ever get over my disappointment....
-
Also, of course, it would help to bring down the ludicrous wages. Players and their agents would be much less cavalier about signing on for mega-bucks with potentially dodgy clubs (eg the CHEATS) if their money wasn't guaranteed. Think back to last season and some of the comments from other clubs about Poopey paying over the odds and those players would need to ask - do I take £10/week from steady, well run Wolves or £20k/week from those shysters who might end up giving me 4p in the pund for five years?

This bit of news is so exciting I actually felt compelled to put it on the main site, too. (I just hope it's not a Poopey WUM. They know how to fight dirty.) Paul Wotton lol Portsmouth by John_the_Saint (U14558047) 28 July 2010 28 Jul 2010 18:18:14 I have inside information from Portsmouth football club that we are going to sign Paul Wotton on a season long loan from our rivals Southampton with view to a permanent deal. Trust me, this is looking very likely at the moment, I work within the club which is how I know! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
