  1. This exaggerating is affecting their players now, quote: Ritchie said: 'I will give 120 per cent every week. Hopefully I will get the chance to prove myself' They just can't help themselves. I bet they think a six inch ruler is twelve inches long
  2. Would you care to elaborate?
  3. What time is kick-off today & when will we hear some news?
  4. £300k from Rangers for Tommy Smith
  5. I think it's about scaling down aspiration ready for the Wessex League. First it's 'we only want British players, next it will be 'we need to focus on Hampshire based players', then finally 'we only want those truly committed to Poopey - those that were born & raised on Portsea island.'
  6. And your point is...? I've never yet met an accountant that isn't first and foremost interested in his own bank account. But if he is happy to take on shady dealings by others, bring him on. Only sounds like good news to me.
  7. He also appeared in a couple of League games as sub. I confess I thought there was one other, but now I can't remember!!
  8. I thought the definition of a skate billionaire was either a portly arab in a too-tight Poopey shirt or an invisible arab friend of Peter Storrie's, neither of whom actually have any money.
  9. Good question. The answer is no.
  10. As we don't have a question and an irrelevant fact springs to mind, namely that Sperring is part of a (not so!) elite group of players to have featured in cup games but never made a league appearance for Saints. Can you name the others since the resumption of league football after WW2?
  11. Potential buyer realises he can't buy club for £20million and get the guarantee of £30million of parachute payments
  12. Reading comments like those from not-so-handy Andy reinforces my view that all his daft public utterings - CVA no probs, appeal the Euro League decision etc etc - are all aimed at convincing some hapless Ukrainian mark that all is well.
  13. Interesting point. The football first rule only really applies if the club wants to be re-allowed into the FL via the 'golden share'
  14. Another nugget from the Skate News & more priceless posters http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Embargo-leaves-Pompey-in-limbo.6353103.jp Well that really is a case of tying both hands behind the back. It seems ridiculous to me that a club cannot offer players a new contract especially with special conditions put in place (maximum wage of 10k p/w).... & ...Come on, give us a break! We've already been penalised for going into administration, with the deduction of points, and the Football league has said we wont get deducted any more points for going into administration because we shouldnt be punished twice for the same offence, but what is this latest ruling if it isnt punishing us for something we've already been punished for?? Is the idea that YOU HAVEN'T GOT ANY MONEY SO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT so alien to the pikey cod-botherers that they just can't grasp the concept. Trying to get them to understand it is like trying to teach the dog how to play cricket. I suppose if they want something on Portsea Island they stick it on a credit card they'll never pay off or just nick it.
  15. And all of this might still be looking on the bright side. Liquidation is still a possibility, particularly if Chainrai/Gaydamak can see no more mileage keeping the corpse alive, and multiple demotions (like Swindon few years back) must be a real possibility. I just sit back and continue to enjoy the gift that keeps on giving
  16. Handy Andy really is an extraorinary chap. Every day without fail he pops up in the Skate News, passing comment on something or the other - today he's commenting on whether his club coach might leave & how much one of his players wants if he moves elsewhere. He makes Harry Redflaps & Storrie-teller seem like a pair of Trappist monks with laryngitis by comparison.
  17. Fwiw Charlton are currently in big financial trouble caused by signing players on £15k/week, just as we were having taken on too many on £10k in CCC. We can afford one or two (not a teamful) of £10k/week players now because we get twenty thousand attendances and are living debt free. Poopey on 12k crowds and a huge debt to service cannot, just like most of the CCC. It's simply more of the Android's fantasies.
  18. What I still can't get my head around is Handy Andy he needs to comment at all. Is it something in the water down there? First Harry, then Storrie, now this nutter all feel the overwhelming need to spout perpetual bullsh1t and pass comment for the sake of it. Even the more sentient Skates seem to be getting tired of it.
  19. The delusion continues.... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Recruitment-drive-begins-despite-uncertain.6349342.jp I particularly liked this last sentence..... 'I will say, however, we will not be paying £15,000 a week in salaries. We have reduced our pay levels to a maximum of £10,000 a week. Anyone not wishing to meet that ceiling will not be considered.' Wasn't having half a dozen players on £10k/week the root of our downfall?
  20. I thought it was 15 for the CVA & 2 for second time in admin
  21. No, but I'll take a punt on his behalf.... They are going to get away with. On a more serious note, doesn't the CVA have to be approved by 75% of unsecured creditors & 50% of non-associated creditors (which presumably excludes the Gaydys, Bin-Trump et al). Anyone up to doing a reckoning up on that front?
  22. Why does everything down the road seem to imply that a 'new' owner, aka Chainrai, is in place and pulling all the strings. It is quite bizarre, really. Handy Andy seems to carry on merrily, planning pre-season, installing CEOs and managers, turning down bids as 'derisory' for players like they have not a care in the world. I still wonder if we are not missing something. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Pompey-close-in-on-new.6344512.jp
  23. Exactly. We always seemed to have more trouble than most.
  24. Yeah, sure we have an opinion. And your point is....? That actually is one of the silliest things even you have written. Why would we be bitter? You are crashing & burning just as we start to improve. One more season & we go above you. I am immensely proud that we survived for decades in the top flight within our budget. You are just going to be an embarrassing footnote in the history of football. Even Avram the toad has moved on - he's found the new bestest fans in the world at West Ham, quote, "This is a fantastic club with great fans and a history that is respected around the world." I think you'll find there is still a lot of talk about Poopey buying success. Who thinks Leibherr's support is drying up. We understand there is a difference between buying short term success and building the right way and I think I know that we want to do it properly. See the above - a few noisy loons cheering when you are 5-0 down and TCWTB do not make great fans. Also, we've reached two cup finals and won a trophy in recent years and two great days out they were. The reason I keep coming back to this thread is that it really is the gift that keeps on giving - part soap, part conspiracy drama, always pure comedy gold - and it just never ceases to to keep me entertained. I will miss it dreadfully, whatever the outcome, when Handy Andy & Storrie-Teller and the rest disappear from our lives. No bitterness, no hurt, no envy, just fun and entertainment.
