Basically it seems that the CHEATS are going to get away with paying the creditors less than they will receive in parachute payments. How can that be right?

You always find these little interesting snippets - this from the Admin report: D) COMPANY APPOINTMENTS AND SHAREHOLDINGS Current Director: P Storrie (compromise reached) M Jacob (made redundant)

I think this is a great catch-all for all eventualities. They can and will do as they wish

Correct!

I think Swindon, Notts County & Oxford (without googling)
-
Think 1970's. Very famous goalkeeping display, particularly one memorable double save.
-
Good question and without googling, a few come to mind - Terry Paine, (but sadly never Mick Channon or MLT), Peter Shilton, Dave Watson & Wayne Bridge, but I can't think of many more. If I'm right, here's a question. Which goalkeeper, other than Dave Beasant, famous for his cup final performance, played briefly for Saints?

A very splendid example of how journalism works....... Headline - Poyet refuses to rule out Pompey job Quote from Poyet, when asked about the Poopey job - I know absolutely nothing about it. One of my kids told me of the rumours. If I had talked to Portsmouth I would tell you – and I haven't. I have a contract at Brighton and that's as far as it goes. It's easy to talk about other clubs and whether you are interested, but for me it is not worth commenting on. I have had no contact with the club at all and I do not know anything about this link. And wham-bam they have their story linking Poyet to the Poopey job.

That is just more mong-appeasing flannel with as much substance as Lloyd's meet the fans stunt. It seems more and more apparent that everything emanating from the Android's mouth is just the same - talking about new managers, pre-season arrangements, player contracts, season tickets - all trying to create the illusion of business as usual. I still can't decide if it is self-delusion, mong-appeasing or entirely for the overseas mark market. But it is all absolutely substanceless waffle.

You don't gain on me that easily. That's now 354 posts or 15 whole pages in old money!

Brett Ormerod and Jason Euell in the prem. What a crazy world we live in.

We did effectively have our income cut in half and I completely agree that we overspent under Burley (albeit still only marginally) and we failed to cut our costs quickly enough till it was too late, but that is still a whole fecking world away from from what the CHEATS have done. They have just taken the pee from day one, recklessly squandering borrowed money, whilst complaining how unfair it is that they are expected to suffer the consequences. You don't rack up debts like theirs through a bit of bad budgeting and bad luck, you do it through wilfully reckless spending of other people's money. It is cheating at best, criminal at worst. Very different.
-
I take issue with that. It's like comparing someone who has his pay cut in half and then struggles to make the books balance with a chancer who opens up as many credit cards as he can get his hands on, maxes them out then complains that it is unfair that he is penalised for it. We mismanaged our accounts, albeit only marginally, they took the effing p1ss.

wtf? Is Fred Dinenage getting paid to talk up this b0ll0cks by Andy Android?
-
So much mystery here, Watson. Why did these simple, inbred folk worship first the Storyteller, then the Toad-faced one when there is so little worth worshipping? How did they find so many potless sheiks? Why does that Android fellow lie about everything when he's meant to be helping them? And most of all, what is the fecking point of that C*nt with a Bell?

You've got to hand it to those razor-sharp posters on The News site: Reckon someone with strong west ham conections has something to do with Avram possibly going there?? What do you reckon - the owners, possibly........
-
I was physically sick at this moment in his diatribe: "Portsmouth has given me a feeling of home away from home. I might be leaving Portsmouth physically, but you cannot take Portsmouth away from me and my heart." Yeah effing right mate. Stay and try to save the club you love so desperately or eff off and take the money elsewhere less than a week after Wembley. How long before he starts oozing love for the Hammers fans. The man is a w*nkspanner of the very first order - no wonder he felt so at home down there.
-
I'm gutted by that news about my home town club. Kicking someone as they desperately try to get things back in order is just malicious. It will make my anger that much worse against the CHEATS if they even get close to getting away with it.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Pompey-summer-sale-all-set.6307385.jp Look out for quote of the close season..... Now it's a case of waiting for the offers to come flooding in for the Fratton Park summer sales I still reckon they will do well to raise any money at all as they try to shed those big earners

Just reading the bit about Hreidarsson being offered a new deal. Firstly I thought he had triggered a one year extension anyway before he got injured, and secondly, if not, you would be insame to offer any deal to a 36 year old who is likely to miss half the season at best. Also the mongs keep going on about players they can get for 10k/week after Andy Android suggested that figure as reasonable wage. On 12-15000 gates, no parachute money etc, how the hell can they pay that sort of wage? IIRC we had about half a dozen players on that or just over and that nearly ruined us. I still cannot decide if he is a, delusional b, staggeringly complacent c, playing up to what the mongs want hear d, downright deceitful and playing whatever game it is that Chainrai is playing e, he knows there is a cunning plan that means they will get away with it, so his lack of concern is genuine Answers on a postcard please or what
-
I think the relevant quotation is: 'There are financial considerations, but we have informally made an offer to him and hopefully we'll move it on in the next few days.' Hey Dave, if we were to get a new owner and all the cr*p gets sorted, would you be interested in staying? I'd certainly consider it, Andy. And thus Mr Android has another encouraging headline to keep the mongs happy

Being a little negative for a moment, the one player I think we are most vulnerable to losing is Morgan. I believe he only has a season left on his contract and at only twenty he is already way too good for this league. Surman could be a very satisfatory replacement

I like the fishy metaphors - are they deliberate or just the way we are trained to think about them?
