  1. I know it wouldn't necessarily deter the likes of the Poopey spivs, but saying that any director/senior financial officer of a club that goes into admin is barred from working in football from Conference level up might just focus the minds of serial club-wreckers like Ridsdale or Bates. And the club has to take the punishment because in law most of these guys have done nothing wrong.
  2. Unlike the Poopey spivs Al fayed really does appear to be a fan. BTW anyone seen this - http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/30042010/58/europa-league-burnley-line-shock-euro-spot.html That would really p1ss old Andy Android off, Burnley in Europe and the Skates banned
  3. Because not paying the football debt means no club & no parachute payments, the single biggest figure on the plus side
  4. I might well be wrong but as I understand it, the 'football first' rule is not a legal ruling at all. Football clubs may choose NOT to repay any of its footballing debts before other creditors, but if they do so the FL/FA/PL can decide not to admit them to their leagues (ie their club, effectively). The spivs at Poopey could LEGALLY pay off their footballing debts at the same rate as all the other creditors, but then they wouldn't have a league to play in. Also, remember the context of the original decision. Leicester had gone into admin mid-season, leaving a lot of debt to other clubs in unpaid transfer fees, then re-emerged debt free, bought more players and got promoted. And this was pre the huge wage and agent fee situation we are now in. I totally agree that the situation has moved on, and maybe the rule needs to be about paying other clubs, not players and agents, but that would still allow clubs to sign players on false pretences. Tighter financial regulation by the football authorities is what is needed.
  5. As one of the skate posters said on one of their sites - the biggest mystery in all the financial mismanagement is how anyone ever thought Mullins was worth ten grand a week
  6. Haven't you ever heard of a typographical error? Also, I couldn't work out how to change a thread title. Modern technology, eh?
  7. It's all about convincing the poor mark in Kuala Lumpar that he should invest in Poopey. Or possibly to keep convincing the Portsea mongs that they really do have a future. Either way it's aimed at the ill-informed/ignorant, not us shrewd cookies.
  8. There is only one reason for this - playing to the overseas market. They have at least been consistent in this approach, appealing everything to try not to discourage any potential puchasers not fully aware of the scale of their shambles
  9. I think that fairly refelcts the impact he has had at the club. Taxi for Mr Molyneux
  10. I'm interested to know who out of the forty odd listed players in our squad we would be glad top see gone. In numerical order I would be prepared/happy to see the following depart 3 Thomas - three years as one of our highest earners and about 5 good games 5 Perry - a great player but beaten by age 8 Gillett - time for fresh pastures 10 Wotton - I know he's a good lad etc, but time to go 11 Holmes - never fit, fleetingly good, we've moved on without him 13 Forecast - couldn't cut it at Grimsby ffs 15 Lancashire - found his level at Grimsby 16 Murty - could have been a real asset but his body's gone 26 Thomson - promised a little, produced less 29 Gobern - likewise, and injured a lot 40 Otsemobor - okay, but we can do better than okay & don't forget Anthony Pulis. If only he'd made an appearance he could have rivalled Ali Dia
  11. A little unkind, but quite amusing: http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/main/s261/st157546.htm
  12. An incompetent cheat is still a CHEAT
  13. That is beautiful - poetry from the heart
  14. Have you ever seen him play?
  15. At least they are properly relegated today - no more whining on about 9 points because even without deductions they are still likely to finish bottom of the most pathetic Prem when 30 points would keep you up. Cue Avram the Toad whinging that they should have had bonus points because none of it was their fault
  16. A quote from a Poopey News poster: The PL and the FA dont really have a genuinely valid reason why we shouldnt enter (the Europa League)..... They really are mentally retarded, aren't they? How about Andy Android's seventy page dossier for a start. Or the fact that they chose not to apply for a license, or... Oh what is the point - we understand, my dog has a better grasp of reality they most of them.
  17. I've said all along - 1000 pages 50000 posts before we are done
  18. They will all get the small end of sod-all anyway. Debts of £100+ mill, assets of £20mill, secured creditor for £15mill, football debts etc etc mean that any unsecured creditor in the queue will be doing well if he sees a penny in the pound sometime this decade
  19. I think the other point was that they were done in physically last night. You could see weary legs from the off and by the end several of them could hardly move - especially Otsemobor, Fonte & Hammond (the latter two who were immense for us). In fact just before the final whistle Hammond rushed over to take throw before us and as he turned his legs almost buckled like a marathon runner just crossing the line. I felt proud of them all last night - they are League One players not Barcelona and they gave everything for us, but sometimes life ain't fair (see Pompey takeover thread for an example!).
  20. We have had it many times this season, especially at home, and sometimes you get the break, sometimes you don't. If we'd fluked an early goal we would have won at a canter, but sometimes it just won't happen. Like last night there will be games with a poor, poor ref, an edgy crowd, tired legs and a 9-0-1 against you where it doesn't happen. It will happen again, but we will also win a lot against teams like Oldham, so keep the faith.
  21. It's a bit scary, isn't it? I call it evolution
  22. Spoken like someone who wasn't there. I know we can't all go to the match, but comments like that on what you didn't see are really irritating. It is true that we struggled to break them down, but from start to finish they played 9-0-1 and even the very best teams struggle unless they get a break. You could not fault the effort - you could see that they were all shattered by the end - but it just wouldn't go in. Nobody wins every game, just unfortunately this one was one we couldn't afford not to. The ref was a shocker, numerous pointless free-kicks, no attempt to tell them to speed things up and they time-wasted from the first minute. Also, one of the reasons we improved in the second half was we sussed the ref and just fell over at the merest contact as they had done so in the first half. At least half a dozen times we made a meal of minimal contact (which I'm pleased to say we rarely do) and he fell for it every time. Overall I'm sad it hasn't happened, but you really couldn't fault the players or manager tonight. So, please, if you weren't there don't make comments like those - they're not big and they're not clever.
  23. Wtf - how can a club with no money & £100mill debt keep effectively signing players? Something about all that is going on down there is fishier than a skate's armpit.
