  1. Why do I always get the feeling we're missing something. Sonko is hardly Rio Ferdinand but he is still a relatively high-profile & high maintenance player as their first signing, and presumably Stoke aren't paying all his wages, (are they?). And they seem in no desperate hurry to shift on the likes of £40k/week Nugent. Is Chainrai still funding them? Because he must be pumping money in like there's no tomorrow at present
  2. I was talking to an accountant friend the other day & he reckoned all administrators were a bit dodgy. (No offence to any of our learned friends on here who have supplied us with so much info.) Basically they are meant to be working for the creditors, but they are appointed by the person or company whose money, or lack of it, is the problem. So, at best they have divided loyalties, but at worst the more corrupted and incompetent they are the more attractive they seem to the person appointing them. A funny old system, I would have said.
  3. OMG, Alps is right - three months without a win. We're doomed
  4. And that is exactly why HMRC are after them. Go after a p1ss-taker and establish the principle to go after some of the others. Another classic bit of Storrie dodgy dealing coming home to roost.
  5. I think what will do for the Cod-botherers is all of AAs creative accounting. But like everything else they have taken the P on the image rights and that is why HMRC are after them for it
  6. I read somewhere & I can't find it again (maybe on this very thread) that one of the issues HMRC had was that the Skates were paying huge image rights payments to players (hence £13mill in liabilities) but only had £3million in revenue for merchandising etc. Apparently HMRC first shied away from taking this one on over David Beckham because they feared they might lose because of his huge global brand - allegedly Real Madrid made back his transfer fee on shirt sales alone in the first year. Maybe Hayden Mullins and Richard Hughes have a slightly lower global profile. Sounds like another one of Peter- trust me I'm a football contract genius - Storrie's little scams
  7. Danny Allsopp, football legend!!! read on From the Skate News match post Blue cheese, Melbourne, australia 25/07/2010 04:18:26 not a great result, but in the circumstances..... Danny Allsopp used to play in the A league for Melbourne Victory, quite a handy player like John Aloisi used to be. His Dad's from Southampton though..!
  8. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so thick - what does all this mean?
  9. It really does seem that the taxman is going to offer no leniency to football. I bet there are football clubs all over the country frantically trying to get their VAT & PAYE in order at this news. Does anyone really think hat HMRC are going to let Poopey off? They have scented football blood and they are in for the kill. http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/434789943?-11205
  10. 14 players 5 set to leave 2 long term injuries 2 boys with 3 games between them Just for a moment I almost felt sorry for them...... NOT
  11. Quite scary too
  12. One of the interesting and amusing points everyone forgets is Clampitt comes from the FA. Poopy are in the FL. The FL hate the FA with a passion.....
  13. More spin. AA: Will you accept our dismal new offer? James: No way Stavros. AA: Well in that case I'm withdrawing it. Ner-ner-n-ner-ner
  14. Another good spin by Handy Andy. What he meant to say was 'He laughed at our offer and has f'cked off in pursuit of more money.' http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Rocha-keeps-options-open.6428434.jp Interesting quote regarding further proof of the CHEATS cheating- 'Considering the level of salary he was on (last season), for somebody that age it's a massive change when you are offered something significantly less'. He was signed after the WUP when they knew they were heading for admin and not paying St Johns ambulance & local charities. This is why they still deserve all they are going to get.
  15. Interesting that Thomson, Poke, Gillett, Lancashire & now James have all been picked up pretty quickly. All good young pros but not quite at the standard that WE expect.
  16. |Hopefully both
  17. On the plus side a good Championship striker. On the minus - that's nearly quarter of their player budget blown..... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Striker-wants-to-stay-at.6426706.jp
  18. Worth a read... http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/433646539?-11205
  19. Because it's one of three reasons for the appeal - the others being image rights and the fact that Handy Andy is a CHEATING skate barsteward who inflated the debt with all sorts of inappropriate & fictional borrowings to attempt to block HMRC's veto of the CVA. Number three is what will do for the Skates, it seems they are using this as a test-case for the other two.
  20. Given the long and bitter rivalry between the FA & FL you do wonder whether his presence will actually do more harm than good for the CHEATS
  21. Actually there is an e) too. Everything he says or does is for the benefit of foreign investors in far off lands who just see the headlines in the Daily Mail or on the BBC and don't know of the existance of this thread.
  22. I have never seen anyone as complacent as Handy Andy, (except possibly Storrie) and it always unsettles me. Even now as the sh1tstorm gathers he says, Oh yes we'll get the appeal overturned & sue HMRC, we'll get England's number one to re-sign, we'll bring in Prem & international players etc etc And I still can't decide if he is a) Just crap at his job, like Storrie, making it up as he goes along & hoping for the best b) A genius who is still working to a secret masterplan to undermine all our hopes or c) Downright clinically insane Because it can't possibly be d) A thoroughly professional IP working diligently in the best interests of all the creditors
  23. They just are the gift that keeps on giving... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Blues-mull-legal-action-over.6423558.jp
  24. Presumably Mr Chinnery is not going to be happy funding the club for three or four more months until the appeal goes through. They have been trying to give away Ben Haim and even if he goes they may wll be subbing West Ham for £20k/week. Then there's Nugent and Utaka etc etc. About as easy to shift as a curry-fuelled skidmark. The money pit keeps on sucking his cash away with little prospect of escape never mind a return. Oh what fun
  25. Thank you God
