This is why this thread just keeps on going. You wake up on a cold damp workday morning and there is always something to laugh about from the gift that just keeps on giving

I just get the feeling that the policy at Poopey is basically sh1t or bust. If there was a genuine desire to learn to live within their straightened means people like Nugent & Utaka would have been loaned out at the very least, even if it meant paying some of their wages. (Eg Nugent set to go to Blackpool on loan, then mystyeriously becoming unavailabe & the deal falls through - satisfying FL etc that they are trying whilst doing eff all.) Signing/resigning Lawrence, Kitson, Rocha, Kanu, Mokoena, + the Spud lad if he comes, Dickinson, Sonko etc on loan - who are/were all Prem players on Prem wages is all about a desperate attempt to get back to the Prem. They are tied to a max of twenty players which is a limitation but on paper at least their first fifteen players must make their squad the most highly paid, experienced and strong in the division. If by some fluke they do go back up (unlikely at present, but you never know) Chainrai can sell up for a decent price or milk the PL for another %50 million quid. If it all goes t1ts up again, well what the hell, sell all the players and walk away with what he can get as a secured creditor and let the unsecured creditors fight for the last few pennies

His problem is that he is hardly ever fit. He makes Pahars look like Franny on the fitness front. I don't think he has ever been fit for more than three weeks in a row since we signed, which is a shame as he undoubtedly has talent.
-
You could hardly accuse Rickie on that front!

The reason that we aren't scoring......

Simples - the most talented footballer outside the Prem is currently sitting on the sidelines nursing his injured knee -
Just to add a little more gloom - when did we last beat Colchester (if ever)?
-
Neither incident had anything to do with Southampton football club or its fans. ***t.

Will Dean Wilkins survive. Btw he will surely go down as the worst Saints manager in our history P3 L3 F0 A6 - stats like that will take some beating. As for Adkins, I'm very happy to give the guy a decent chance. He clearly has something about him.
-
Still a lot cheaper than John Utaka....

Poor pre season..poor start...poor signings

The one thing I'd say about Butterfield was that he was only ever signed as a back up player - Richardson was meant to be first choice -
Even for us this is a first - a breakdown of communications between chairman and manager before he has even signed!
-
I would have been delighted with Adkins, but what a fecking fiasco. Cortese is looking more and more like a boy in a man's job. Even Rupert would have got the fine print sorted first.

The only crumb is that 93 days only takes them to early Dec not Jan as an emergency loan
-
I thought he was the best since Strachan and only Bates, McMenemy and Nicholl (another one that we didn't appreciate till he was gone) ahead of him. Not one of his signings was a bad one and he put a great footballing team together. I only hope NC's new WOW manager lives up to everyone's hopes.
-
I think he looks the biz to me. Strong and wins a lot in the air and with telescopic legs to reach the ball when it seems the other guy might get away. And playing a neat short pass to a team-mate is better than the Jaidi approach any day
-
We had half a dozen players on £10-£15k week - Rasiak, Saga, Thomas, Euell, BWP, Skacel and possibly a couple of others and that broke us.
-
Oh God, please let it be him. Sulimain bin Trump junior.

First thing on here that made me laugh

I'm gutted. I think AP is a top manager, he has signed some excellent players and over the last year played some of the most attractive and exciting football I have ever seen from a Saints team. If it really is Zola then NC needs his head examined - top player maybe but shocking signings and chaotic tactics had West Ham heading for the drop last season. Sad day for our club
-
Is it just me or is the Championship table a thing of rare beauty at present. I might get it printed out and put it on my wall....
-
Sounds like a messy compromise to avoid another court case about the master-negotiator offering a contract they can't afford.
-
wtf!!! Raise no money and definitely put the wage bill up. I still don't get how they are so blase about the wages - Utaka & Nugent alone would equal about £4mill a year of their £12 mill budget. Still think there is something we are missing. If I were a cod-botherer I would be chuffed to nuts over this deal

Hesitant To Post This, But Me I'm Out Of Patience

Oh my God - Alps has relocated tp Los Angeles! Keep the faith, dude. We have a very good team, a very good manager and it will come right. I know we lost last night but we played great football and our luck will change. -
Peter Storrie, ace football negociator, should be given the freedom of the City of Southampton for services to the entertainment industry. A quiet day, a little low after yesterday, and yet his legacy never fails to bring a smile to my face.
