  1. A couple of points: 1) Last night we could have had Carlos Tevez up front, but we didn't actually create anything. Shows that the actual goalscoring ability of our strikers isn't the sole problem (in fact, I don't think it's that high up, I really think the main problem has been creating the clear chances). 2) When we had a true goalscorer (Rasiak - and we can't afford him now, so let's ignore the getting him back issue), the popular opinion was that he was lazy and useless (I'm not accusing you of saying that, by the way, just it was the dominant opinion). It seems that fans of this club have little/no idea what they want.
  2. Not sure I agree. After all, we've played the same system at Derby, Reading, 1st half Plymouth at home, 2nd half Charlton away and have played some brilliant football and created plenty of chances (these are just recent examples). What we are lacking is constitency within the system.
  3. How do you get through the barrier? Also, there are methods of catching "rat running" drivers.
  4. The whole railway system needs reform, delldays, yes. At the moment, the railways will get capacity in 2015, which is why we need to start spending massive money in improving it. Sadly, this government will not do that.
  5. It's like the TAG system used on Severn Toll Bridge. You top up your card, drive up to the gate flash the card and it deducts the money. But it doesn't need to know who you are to be able to do that.
  6. Yes, we have to penalise people for taking an environmental unsustainable option (internal flights), but it is only fair to do it when there has been investment in real alternative options. I would say that 2hrs 35 mins is a fair journey. It might take a little less to fly, but there are still check in times and security which probably takes that to 2 hours. I would then be happy to stick a massive tax on internal flights.
  7. It depends on what roads you are charing. If you charge only on motorways or trunk roads (the only sensible way, because you can't charge rural drivers because they have no viable public transport option), then you can do it by traditional toll. You could use a "tag and beacon" system, but any personal data held would have to be seperated from journey data. People could pre-pay anonymously in the same way you anonymously top up your mobile phone.
  8. I don't think anyone is denying the problem. I can't blame anyone for taking internal flights where the railway option is not practical (be it cost or length of journey). However, what we need to do is spend real money on the railways (a high speed line could make the journey from London to Edinburgh in 2hrs 35 minutes) and thus offer a real alternative to flying internally. Then we can penalise those taking internal flights.
  9. My word, you've gone and done it again. At the moment, there is no point anyone replying to do, because you have clearly already prejudiced their reply in your head.
  10. You are the King of Presumption, aren't you. It is hilarious how you just make other people's arguments up for them. Well done you.
  11. I don't know. Ask successive Labour and Tory governments why they haven't done it.
  12. Yes, that is one way of doing it. We could also scrap Vehicle Excise Duty, but bring in a replacement tax which charges people on how much they drive, and then use that money to fund extra railways.
  13. Let me explain high speed rail: the train does not every ten minutes because it is high speed, thus it links major cities with minimal other stops.
  14. These airports are only struggling because of the ridiculous amounts of internal flights. If we spent decent money on high speed rail, and made getting the train affordable again, then we wouldn't "need" these extra runways. Quite frankly, I hope neither Stansted nor Heathrow gets their extra, unnecessary runways.
  15. Good point well made.
  16. Will probably stay in Railway Telegraph then so you can find us. As long as it isn't totally sh*te of course.
  17. Might be some Winter Warmer also?! Could also try the Fountain Head. What time are you arriving?
  18. Yes, how dare anyone protest about anything.
  19. I am planning to head to The Railway Telegraph which is 100yds from Thornton Heath. Cross over when you come out the station and turn right. You can't miss it. Is a Young's pub.
  20. I am going. alpine has already written his post-match comments for 9.46pm, he just needs to copy and paste them at the final whistle.
  21. Unfortunately it is you that is the dim-wit (you are actually much worse than that, you are a vile individual), and quite frankly have never had any idea what it is you are blthering on about. We played 4-2-1-2-1 as per usual. It was obvious. You are just a total idiot. I feel sorry for anyone that ever has to meet you.
  22. Wow, yet more incisive comment from alpine on the 46,354th game in a row he never saw.
  23. No we weren't, it was the same formation as always.
  24. I guess it would depend on the quantity of AIDS to be injected etc.
  25. No it isn't. It's the fact you should have just said "No, I'm going to the football" instead of "ok, I'll go shopping."
