To be fair, rugby only pitches have more grass, so you can't really see any of the damage caused. Whereas joint-sport pitches obviously have to have the grass cut short for football, which can cause problems. The Rec does look good, though.

Fry up info a must - anywhere to avoid a Wethies breakfast (not that they're awful, just that they're not good!). I can recommend the Halliday Tearooms on Bedford Place in Soton, and also the one just outside Manchester Piccadilly station on the RHS - about 10 shops down. Will have to rack my brains for more. Also, plenty of pubs that do curry near West Brom. The Vine is well known, but slightly further away is the Desi Junction which does awesome food.

I've had some good curries on away days, but the problem is I'm usually too sloshed to know which curry house I've been to! I might be able to help you out with some decent boozer advice.
