Hopefully they act swiftly and decisively, but our track record with acting swiftly is not good. I think the whole “Southampton way” and “we march on” stuff has blown up in our faces and makes the club look arrogant. The board will have a hard time backtracking from this so it might be heads in the sand time while praying something changes on the field.

Nature of the defeat, we’re like a dog trying to escape from a garden by butting into a piece of wood, never noticing that there is an open gate further down the fence. Surely they look at match videos and see how isolated the striker is, see how ponderous we are, see the lack of movement, see the high crosses don’t work, see that failure to close down a striker leaves us vulnerable, see that midfielders not going into the box to get a second ball, etc etc. isn’t working.

That’s the most worrying thing. We aren’t playing the right way, not even close. With the formation and personnel it should be high tempo pass and move on the deck. We are low tempo, static and float in high crosses for small or isolated/outnumbered striker.

Only Lemina is so far this year and now he’s not fit.

We provide so little entertainment. Same dour risk free tripe each week. We are playing not to lose and still losing. That’s failure. What’s the point.
