So your suggestions so far. Benteke, time machine and Lambert? Can I play, I'll take Shearer in his prime.
-
Redmond excellent so far (apart from muffed shot).
-
We sure do look kinda sexy in the white shirts!
-
Enjoying this. We've taken the sting out of the crowd and now expressing ourselves a lot better.

Oops dive by bouf

Heisenberg is not getting under our skin enough perhaps rotating too many routines. Batman has come out fresh and aggressive causing us a lot of problems.
-
Alpine probably has one outside his house.
-
Fixed your fat fingered typo

Damn if Puel wasn't our manager we'd have looked more energetic and got 2 goals for that shot.
-
What an unfresh equalizer! He looks knackered.
-
Not sure we understand, can you tell us one more time.
-
Damn, poor from Puel to concede that corner, but it was Puel who lost his man and then Puel who was unable to save the header.
-
Surely Pompey are the worst team at Fratton.
-
I hear they're not that tight in the back end...

Puel so far, not a good fit for saints? or the man to take us forward?

Did she think Alec Ferguson was really boring and uninspiring too? -
Pelle - from villan to hero...all without kicking a ball...

So, we can expect said tarts to be yearning for the days of red-hot Redmond in the 19-20 season? LOL. -
Agreed, I think Clasie did.

I was a big fan of Pelle, he had his shortcomings but I felt he had a really good eye for goal and a great understanding with Tadic. Lately, with our scoring woes a few on here have been lamenting the loss of Pelle. Here's a look back at a couple of threads from last season where he wasn't always that appreciated...funny how things change. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?55180-Without-Pelle&highlight=Pelle http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?53829-Pelle&highlight=Pelle -

Despite what folks on here claim to know, we don't know the inner workings of Saints. We don't know what Claude's mandate is, but what we do know are the players that have been afforded to him to get a job done. I'm guessing here but likely; top half, decent cup runs, out of the group in Europa. So far he's doing pretty well with what he has. My opinion is that he is a very smart man who knows more about coaching a football team than any of us here do. I think he knows his attacking options are a bit limited, he's been unlucky with injuries to Boufal, Tadic, Austin, JRod, Long etc. but realises that even though the attack is a bit blunt, he can still install a team defense and make sure not to lose games while we are in this difficult period. To me it's a bit like Karate Kid (the original, not that new ****ty version), Daniel wants to go all out attack but Mr Miagi knows that he might win a few but he will likely get his ass kicked most of the time. So what he does is have Daniel work tirelessly (even tediously) on defense because he knows that a strong defense is what wins Karate bouts. -
Rip em a new one Saints!!!

We are not scoring enough. It's not as simple as you make it. I think it's a combination of poor finishing from low confidence attackers and poor decisions from a) players crossing the ball b) players like JWP and Davis not making the decisive runs into the box. We are not as bad a team as you (repeatedly) say we are. CP is not as bad a manager as you (repeatedly) say he is. Have a bit of patience and stop with the attention seeking. This could have gone in the post game thread, you don't need to start new threads with the same stuff every day.

Why 14? Did we get 3 in the one before you started counting? Had it been goals conceded you'd have gone as far back until you got to a 0. Good discussion is fine, but when are you going to grow up or get some treatment? Edit: yep 3-1 vs Burnley. Lol.

We played well tonight IMO.

There were plenty of Poch and Koeman performances with no cutting edge, no plan B etc. The same ones complaining now were complaining then. Pelle, Mane, Lallana and Wanyama used to get pilloried on here but are now heroes. I think we showed enough tonight that we are essentially a good team and not that far off clicking. I think JRod will come good again and we will become more effective. Boufal looked excellent, very excited to see him at Saints. We just seem to lack that bit of belief and try to do too much, to force a cross, pass or shot. Hopefully we can score early on Sunday and start believing again.
