Doesn't mean he wasn't badly injured. I've had a few and been able to run them off for a few minutes because the adrenaline and enkephalins (natural pain relievers) released following the injury will help a little. After you have walked or even jogged off those chemicals return to baseline levels and tissue inflammation really starts to kick in.
I've jogged off the field injured and then barely been able to walk after the game is over and spent months rehabbing an injury.
I'd say neither. MoPe needs to establish his midfield 3 based on form and attitude in training. No one should get preferential treatment. They were both poor lately so they sit until they get another chance to be in the XI. Then it is up to them to stay in the team. Hopefully MoPe can get more out if them and they become fixtures in the team.
The worst part of last night's result was mentioned by someone in this thread. We no longer have these games to give the fringe players a run out. That means more unhappy players.
I'm extremely disappointed. However, the over the top reactions on here are just too much. People already writing MoPe off, blaming Les, and all the other claptrap that's been posted.
For a self appointed Saints historian you'd think you'd be a bit more pragmatic.
Yes it was dire but it's the least important game of the season and the manager decided to try out a different formation. Poch and Koemsn got pilloried on here for no plan B and here is a manager trying something out that could come in useful against Premier League teams when we need to change things.
On to the next one. The sky hasn't fallen!
He must be gutted (but at the same time happy with his bank balance). Could have been so different if he hadn't returned from the EURO all billy big balls. We'd have had a better chance in the Europa, and better chance in the cup final. He could then have left (or not) in the summer.
Omg this! He just slashes at it, doesn't believe for a second that he can score. Both chances he had, he had enough time to pick a spot and pass it into the goal. Incredible that a pro could miss by that much so often.
