  2. Cosimo Sarli or was he an Aussie?
  3. underwhelming
  4. Look like a right set of ****s, what is wrong with a handshake and get back to their half fully focussed for the restart of the game?
  5. She shouldn't have posted on facebook, but it looks like they did it out of spite as she is leaving for a beter job.
  6. basketball was invented by Canadians, probably as a drinking game, USA stole that one too..
  7. Barry could have a lot of fun with this. Clearly she is not all that bright having failed to cover her tracks very well. I would suggest some spying followed by a few cunning schemes to totally destroy her, set her/them up big time for some humiliation. I would also recommend he start moving his financial assets bit by bit to his own account.
  8. You lot should be pleased, you'll have something legitimate to moan about (Lampard's "goal") for years to come...
  9. That was a shame, USA were the best team in that game and got hit by a couple of sucker punches. Altidore has a bit of the Heskey's about him though, not sure how he missed one of his chances...
  10. It's getting better and better. The Italy vs Slovakia game was awesome and the Uruguay vs South Korea a treat to watch, hoping the USA game this afternoon measures up to these and can't wait for Mexico vs Argentina and England vs Germany tomorrow...
  11. That's local time, will be 3pm in England...
  12. Well done England, but that game was dismal, one of the worst I have ever seen...
  13. Never thought i'd type this but...."U S A....U S A.....U S A!!!!".
  14. England have never conceeded a goal to an African team in the group stages of a World Cup, that's a good record, maybe they will draw on that for some inspiration...
  15. Put a blue filter on my TV, put on my kilt and grabbed my bagpipes, this is great, it's like Scotland actually made it to a tournament finals. Uncanny resemblance though, loads of players who do great for their clubs (think Hansen, Dalglish, Souness, Mo Johnson, McClair, McCoist etc) but turn to utter **** as soon as they pull on the national shirt. I would expect that they will be eliminated on goal difference...
  16. In fairness those bleating about ABE are probably ABP (anyone but Portsmouth) during the season. ow many cheered Chelsea's cup final goal? Last season Portsmouth = England (a team playing at the big stage, not really bothered about lowly Saints concentrating on trying to beat big teams), Saints = Scotland (not playing with the big boys, trying hard to wind up Portsmouth who don't care as Saints are not on their radar). Saints fans feel agrieved as all the hear is Portsmouths great fans and Cup winners Portsmouth. Saints fans feel Pompey fans are arrogant as they wax lyrical about being with the big boys. I am pretty sure most on here are ABP. So why so mad about ABE when the shoe is on the other foot?
  17. I don't see what the problem is, load of Victor Meldrews on here...
  18. That's perfect! Throw in some speed sessions and you will likely run your race at a faster pace but with the endurance to finish strong...
  19. Sorry made an error in the above post, can't edit, should say "NOT" speed... - Don't try to run your long run fast, keep it at least 45-60 seconds per mile slower than your goal race pace (the pace should be converational, i.e. you can hold a conversation while running without getting out of breath). Build up to 11 or 12 miles by adding a mile each week. Take short walkbreaks if you need them, the goal is NOT speed in this workout but time on your feet.
  20. I am a runner and do mostly half marathons. Here is my advice, take it or leave it. -split your efforts into 3 workouts a week (1 long slow run, 1 faster "tempo run", 1 shorter recovery run). - You want to use speed workouts to improve your speed, the long ones to get your body used to being on your feet running for a long period of time and recovery workouts to keep you loose and the add to your overall base mileage. - Don't try to run your long run fast, keep it at least 45-60 seconds per mile slower than your goal race pace (the pace should be converational, i.e. you can hold a conversation while running without getting out of breath). Build up to 11 or 12 miles by adding a mile each week. Take short walkbreaks if you need them, the goal is speed in this workout but time on your feet. - Do the speed workouts at about 85% of your all out pace. 1 mile warm up and then 2 miles at your 85% speed, 1 mile cool down. Add half miles to the speed interval each week. - Recovery runs are at a pace slighly faster than the long runs, just run them and enjoy them, they will help with base mileage and not knacker you out for your other workouts. - Biggest mistake is to do long runs too fast that you are too knackered to do your fast runs fast enough. - closer to race time, try a "race pace" 6 miler. - in the race, start out at a pace about 10 seconds per mile slower than your goal pace and increase it as you go, finish strong. - Good luck
