Are we the only team who can't sack our manager, regardless of the results?

I saw Nigel Pearson as a man capable of being at Saints long term. So did the vast majority of fans. Only Rupert thought differently. -
Would you BOYCOTT? Ways to get rid of Lowe and the board

Cue the usual drivel about us having to play kids because we couldn't afford a balanced side. -

Lowe doesn't sack managers. They leave by mutual consent with a NDA. -

If Lowe sacked Portaloo it'd be an admission that he got it wrong again and is clueless. We'll go down without a fight and Lowe will blame everyone bar himself. -
Whatever you do don't go to the "pub" that the police/stewards say is the "away pub". It's not a pub, it's a comunity leisure centre and it's ****.

Our current team would not be good enough to win promotion out of League 2 in my honest opinion.

Lowe sacked (sorry didn't renew Pearsons contract) because: a) he wanted to get one over Crouch and McMenemy. b) becaused he couldn't tolerate Perason doing well and Crouch/LM getting the praise instead of him. c) he wanted a desperate yes man manager who would roll over and implement Lowes imbalanced strategy. As Lawrie McMenemy says Lowe is "pompous, arrogant and ignorant of football matters" -
I'll be there. Will there be anti Lowe songs?
-
Michelle do you still follow Saints away from home? I don't bother much now due to Lowe, but i remember seeing you at lots of away games in the past. If Lowe is driving away diehard fans then it really hits home how serious the situation is.

Having watched the highlights it was a definite sending off. Also the penalty did look like a penalty (even if it did hit mcgoldricks head/shoulder). He should never have had his arms up and if i was the ref giving a split second decision i'd have said penalty.

The more people who don't renew as a protest against Lowe and Wilde the better. There's always 1/2 season tickets at Christmas if you're worried about play-off tickets etc. I've gone from ST holder to member to just a customer. I can't even bring myself to waste £20 on a membership as it's just a con to get money for nothing to line Lowes pockets.
-
I'd agree with that conclusion.
-
IMO it was all down to greed at the time. Lowe and Wilde thought they could get more from a.n.other party. No other party materialised and the global recession hit. If they could turn back the clock i bet they wish they'd put SFC before themselves.

Selling St. Mary's and developing Staplewood....

I hate out of town stadiums and i'd hate to ground share with portsmouth even more, but from a business point of view a shared stadium on the M27 would be advantageous for both clubs. -
Do you think this is a realistic asking price? I ask this because i see us being in the same boat Coventry were and the major shareholders had to give their shares away to SISU.
-
IMO the decline started during the Strachan era, albeit at the end. I'd pinpoint the start of the rot at the time Chris Marsden left. He wasn't skillful, but he was inspirational and IMO he was more of a factor to our sucess than Strachan himself.

If his family read this thread please accept my condolences. It puts todays result and the state of the club in general into context. RIP.

August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration

Lowes Year 2 Plan the plan is to make ourselves financially stable to an extent with not getting relegated being a bonus. We will then rebuild from League 2. Lowes Year 3 Plan the plan is to make ourselves financially stable to an extent with not getting relegated being a bonus. We will then rebuild from the conference. Lowes Year 3 Plan the plan is to make ourselves financially stable to an extent with not getting relegated being a bonus. We will then merge with Eastleigh. -
Possibly but alternatively they may just not want them to pick up knocks before the deal goes through. Make no mistake a deal has already been done.

Jan is either a liar or he's being lied to.

Bingo. They will be sold.

And the picture you paint of a good manager (which is correct) is also why Hoddle burnt out so quickly. At Swindon and Saints Hoddle relied on his reputation as a great player - and it worked. But at Spurs and Wolves he flopped because his past was no longer a big factor with players who hadn't worshipped him and they saw him for what he was - a boring self centred control freak with no personality. To understand Hoddle as a person you just have to look back to when he was at Chelsea and tried to sign Le Tissier. Le Tissier stayed loyal and because of that Hoddle did not pick him for England. This is a fact because this is the kind of person Hoddle is. This is why Hoddle would not have been any good if he had been given a second spell at Saints.
