There are a lot of africans (well african origin anyway) but L2, nope none at all. French D2 is a very mediocre league but is probably comparable to League 1,however the players are paid far less (I heard the president of Clermont Foot say that the average monthly salary for his team (who are crap because Clermont is a rugby city) is about £8000,whilst there are no doubt some player in our League 1 who make that a week,Saga perhaps). Edit: in fact there are 2 lads from Le Havre, I'd forgotten they got relegated, still all the same there is a lot of Monaco,PSG, Tottenham and Sochaux as well.

It could well be that our players are much too good for League 1 football and only play against opposition that respects this fact.:)
