Rodriguez has returned - BREAKING: NEW CONTRACT SIGNED
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Well you obviously haven't been listening to the forum experts today then, apparently he's just what we need for some reason or other, something about one cross that landed on Pellè's head against Spurs defence, one of the worst in the PL might I add and certainly the worst in the top half of the league. . -
Doesn't seem to make sense, he was out with 2 different injuries at the same time apparently, possible of course but you just need to count that as one absence and not 2 surely..
-
Not for Liverpool anyway, must have played about 30 games last season and scored 20 odd goals in the PL. Anyway this season he's still scored more than Balotelli and Lambert put together despite only starting in a handful of games. Another player on whom last summer's WC has taken it's toll.

Rodriguez has returned - BREAKING: NEW CONTRACT SIGNED
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Very little I expect, he's got his contract, he must have kind of got used to limited playing time and no other bunch of fools are going to give us anywhere near 12 million £ for him so it must be carry on as you were. -
Sometimes it's too expensive, taking a hit on one salary is less than the bill for insuring the whole squad. No idea where we are with that though, you'd have to look at the line by line accounts. Insuring a 30 man squad against loss of playing time would probably run into a couple of million at least. Statistics obligé, no PL club goes through a season without losing at least 1 player for a fairly long time.

What line will you use when we finish 8th?
Window Cleaner replied to Aziz Yebda's topic in The Saints
Over this no, our form since we took 26 points from 12 games has been patchy, these last few weeks it has become poor. As long as the majority are content with it and accept small compensations like a couple more points or 1 place better I guess it's OK. For me we've not done as well as we could have expected mainly due to management errors. I'll leave it there I think. -

3 out of 4 wouldn't be bad. On JRod...great now let's get him onto the pitch and say ciao to the other lump. -
I bet it doesn't though, just the bench. Gazzaniga apart that is.

Right, I didn't want to remind you all of this Ralph gem from last September but it seems that I have no option; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2754285/Southampton-stronger-following-summer-exodus-claims-chairman-Ralph-Krueger.html So if we're stronger we should be doing better right ? If you dig about on Redslo's blog or in the forum archives I'm sure that you can find the original audio Solent interview. -
Nah, a wee bit of internet research informs us that she jacked it in after DNA tests were inconclusive and she decided he was too monstrous to be related to anyway.
-
Well I don't have the facts to hand either but I've got the impression that he played some really useful innings last season, anchor type batsman.

apparently not, we're doing "as well as can be expected" seemingly. Mind you from my limited experience of hospitals when they tell you that it's not usually a very good sign. -
Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I think he might actually but that's only because I can't see any of the really big name sides being interested in the player that I've seen for the last few games. We'll have to make an effort on money though. -
Walcott always was all about his pace, if it's on the wane he may be a pretty average footballer really.
-
So 2 years then, perhaps there were some option years because I don't think we'd be able to terminate his contract otherwise, well not unilaterally unless there's some sort of unknown reason that is.
-
Comes from Norway, not the ocean of footballing talent that it used to be.

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Expect us to make maximum effort on Clyne, he's a young player and we'd owe Crystal Palace a bit, we have no evident replacement and are there all that many competent right backs about . Form has fallen away a bit of late so perhaps Utd won't be all that interested, perhaps they'll go for Trippier instead or Van Der Wiel or Aurier or one of the others we're linked with from time to time. Can't see many other 'top' clubs in the market for a right back just now. -
Depends if you have the time or inclination to read the forum on a regular basis I suppose. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?54132-Saints-Meet-Orjan-Nyland-Buyout-Mirror#.VVH4t_ntmko

Someone said we agreed to meet their price, last week I think.
-
Normally he should have had a year left I think, strange one. More the fool him for agreeing to it if it's exact.

I still don't get all this we're doing as well as can be expected stuff, to me only Lallana hasn't been replaced correctly and we've spent a whole lot of money. Bertrand is and always was a better player than Shaw, Lambert was at the end of the road, Lovren...well you all like to laugh at his "deboires" and Toby is a good player, pity we didn't sign him permanently last summer and Chambers was a back up RB. So yes Lallana is missing but none of the others is of any great import, we got good money for them all, more than we probably should have done so let's knock off all the poor old us we've done well considering stuff eh. -
Why is his latest injury looking like a career ending one ?
-
Safe ? Not if they lose both matches and with us playing at 12 45 on Saturday they won't know the Hull/Newcastle/Sunderland results or even have any idea how those games are going. So they'll try to win and certainly won't be slacking off. the week after perhaps when their safety is assured or at least visible during the game.
-
I don't think we'll be finding that out at any time soon, we can only hope that JRod makes some sort of appearance before the end of the season. Shows us what we've been missing, even if it's only for 10 minutes or so.
-
What we should be asking ourselves before we spalsh 3 or 4 million or whatever it is is do we have a player in the academy who can do the job just as well (at least). If not we need to ask ourselves why not and then pay the money because Elia is a very ordinary player..
