Talking of Ralph, what's his contract situation nowadays, initially he was tied down until the end of this season, anyone heard of any new arrangements on that score ?
-
Ah well you can't win them all.

As do most Anti Submarine Units.... Know there are increased patrols from Iceland to the Falklands just now, looking for Boris I suppose..who knows, perhaps the Germans are giving us a hand ,saw one of theirs off the Brittany coast the other day.

Interested in Hernandez according to the Mirror

Status obviously counts more to him than playing time, he thinks he's a top class act but now he's been cast aside by 2 managers who probably want more effort than he's capable of giving. -
Still in DD or did you finish your time and move on?

Few wouldn't but I think he's out of our price range on the salary front. Unless of course a year in the stands at Real have taught him some humility since he rejected us out of hand, doubt that though. -

He won't deign to sign for us, we're not of a sufficient standard for him, same as we weren't last summer. Plus he'll want a whole lot more than we seem to think fitting for a top player (if he's even that any more) 60K a week must be just about his pocket money. When we decide to pay 80-100K a week to players we may get some "stars", until then Pellè and Tadic you're up. -
There is point to it because it is a new level, don't think we've ever qualified for a Euro competition (perhaps the Fairs Cup?) other than from Cup success (or failure) Krueger said it was the objective, Koeman says it's the objective so I think we can take it as read that it's the objective don't you.

Well , the French are active in Mali and the Central African Republic, our Navy is stretched to it's limits patrolling oceans along with the American and British counterparts, don't make out that you don't know this because you do. Edit...can't say that
-
Why ? Have you trousered the rest of the money then ?
-
Well whenever they feel like giving us French a hand in combatting the crackpots from spreading all over Africa and beyond let me know and I'll consider your point of view. The French and the English with their armed forces are fighting Europe's battles for them just now. The french and english publics are footing the bills for it whilst the Germans do ferk all and pay ferk all permitting them to have a higher standard of living.

We play Chelsea, Spurs and City, probably about as many as everyone else. Plus Stoke and Everton away. At least 5 out of our remaining 10 can be deemed as tough games.
-
So why couldn't we afford a striker that we so desperately needed then?

Why ? We finished 8th last year and spent 60 odd million £ on players, should we not progress really . I'd consider 7th as a very mediocre finish actually. So I think will the board.
-
There is absolutely nothing to say that he would have got any more game time here than he has at Liverpool; he's certainly got more money though.
-
Lambert might if he was younger, as it is, probably not. He's not really good enough for Liverpool but he had a good few years here and finished it off with a few big games at Anfield. Saints are not the be all and end all for any ambitious and talented footballer, think Shearer regrets leaving or Bale ? They had the talent to play on a bigger stage..
-
As I said the other day 3 million £ a year is just not at the races for a player who may or may not be worth 25 million £. If you've got one and he's in any way open to staying then you have to push the boat out and pay him what he can get elsewhere, it's what "big clubs" do.
-
Because he wants a day out at Wembley, seems to be a fixation with a fair number of Saints fans.

But just now they are a nation of pacifists, constantly in conflict with NATO. Anything that reminds them of their past is abhorrant to them. Not to mention their demographics, an ageing population with a relatively low proportion of military aged persons.
-
The German army is very small compared to the size of their population I think. About 60000 for 85 million population. To be able to lead anything they need to get their ducks in a row first because their army is a bit of a joke. Add a very small navy and an inconsequent air force that haven't been involved in much action at any time in the recent past and you have no reason to suppose that they could lead anything.
-
An attempt to "park the bus" against Chelsea must be considered as a reasonably stupid thing to do because they have players who can always unlock such situations. They have a tough game tomorrow night, we can hope for a few walking wounded on Sunday.

I really don't want anything from tonights game but I expect Utd to win because Arsenal's defence is really fragile against any side that posesses a striker or some strikers worthy of the name.
