Me neither. Still not having Labour anywhere near power will mean that my UK investments are not compromised and the £ will still be worth ++++ euros.
-
You've never seen the like of it in the UK but here in France people who are basically disatisfied with their lot tend to go for an alternative, in our case it's the Front National, they will of course never obtain power in any shape or form but they're an alternative so they appeal to 30% ish of the electorate. When it comes to the crunch though they always fall short because reasonable people always apply the brakes just in time.
-
Absolutely, when you promise you have to deliver and they didn't so they got the kick up the bum they deserved, they were weak, lost all credibility. People saw that the country is run by one of 2 parties so if you want to vote usefully you might as well vote for one of them, the rest voted for the UKIP..
-
Apparently they're scientiffically and soundly based, my daughter in law is in theoretical politics, whatever that may mean. Still at least she doesn't design golf courses or have a masters in football supporter technology or something.
-
Au contraire, just the idea that he'd team up with them to gain power and leave most of the nation at the mercy of a handful of scots probably did for him actually. You cannot have the politics of a nation being decided by 50 odd nouveau venues representing 5% of the electorate.

Is that the harpie that I saw on TV yesterday telling me that the exit polls were no doubt erroneous and that they'd still probably win ?
-
I very much doubt that that will happen actually, Hollande slashed defence spending you know and then found out that it leaves you right in the crapper and had to go back on nigh on everything he'd done in that direction, like putting the army on street corners to control the rabble that he has himself created by not controlling imigration, letting convicted criminals wander about unchecked and not giving out the bucket loads of handsout that he promised.. Then again he's an idiot..

The BBC obviously credit an "other" to the conservatives, probably the speaker.
-
I suspect that a lot of Lib-Dem votes went to the other weird and wonderful formations, promising no end of stuff and of course never being in a position to deliver on any of it.
-
I think some of them seriously thought that their favourites would gain power in some way or other. To all of those I'd say the same as Osborne yesterday, look at the mess that the idiot Holland has made in France and count yourselves lucky, at least you won't have the army on street corners to watch over the lunatic fringe.

Morgan out until the end of the season

Apparently we've had no serious offers either...if you believe the Daily Star that is, perhaps it's just an old Koeman quote being recycled by the European Press. -
Because then it becomes a government of national unity and not a coalition, trouble is it usually disunifies at the first sign of something that someone doesn't care for, usually after about a week.

I didn't forget Manchester City, I didn't know that Hart came from Shrewsbury Town at the age of 17 or 18 that's all.

Might not get another work permit, don't think he's a Brazil regular and thus would fall foul of the new criteria. Players such as he will have to stay put or go abroad.

Not at all sure about that. Seems to be a difference between first team football and non-first team football as far as suspensions are concerned. Doesn't show up anywhere on the FA Suspensions list or the Awaiting Suspensions list.

What about Fonte...doesn't he count ? -
Perhaps but what I can't seize off the bat is why we're (reportedly) looking at players like Vilhena if our own academy products of the same age are as good or better. Vilhena is what 20, 80 odd first team games at a no doubt inferior level to the PL but would be serious competition for say Gape or Hesketh surely. In fact when you tot it up we are the top 8 side who have the least academy player minutes in the PL this season. The academy is much vaunted but we really need to start seeing some results that aren't sold after 1 good season.

Those who are old will remember that a "Prince Charles" saving stamp was worth 5 "Princess Anne" savings stamps. Whatever happened to savings stamps, gave the royal kids something to do, contributed to the nation like..

Well yes, when Sigurdsson and Shelvey long range efforts sail into top corners you think that's great, what you don't see is all of the efforts that sail into row Z and hit corner flags. Take Shelvey, stats say he's on 2 shots at goal a game, 29 games so that makes 58 shots, 3 of them are goals so the other 55 aren't. Long range pile-drivers are great when they go in, not so much when the keeper picks them off or they go over the top or wide. Morgan has scored more goals than Shelvey I think in less games and about half as many shots.

Seems to be some tunnel vision around here, now in this thread we discuss players who have been linked with a move to Saints, there are 4 or 5 of them at least, mostly young players, a striker,Clasie,Vilhena a couple of AMs, a keeper. Reed is saying that we've no intention of selling players...yeah right and that for the purposes of a competition which starts in just a couple of months if we qualify in 6th or 7th place we'll be relying on academy players to make up the extra numbers required. Can no-one see that there is some sort of contradiction here? Either we're not selling and not buying or we're buying a few of the above targets and we won't need to use the academy players who can't get a game now in a few weeks time. It just doesn't make any sense.
-
It would also be extremely short lived. We will probably be going into Saturday's game with zero academy players in the starting line up, from there to 5 or 6 in a Europa League qualifier is a far stretch of the imagination. Reed can say what he likes, Koeman's actions don't seem to back any of it up. At least Mauricio made an effort, didn't we have 5 or 6 academy players on the pitch at times last season ?.

The Long Overdue Pointless 2015/16 (Adidas) Kit Thread

Perhaps our new shirt will be like those that the academy kids are wearing on the front page of the OS today. Looks alright. -
Probably just the sea air at Palavas...I was down there the other day and some old bloke stopped me on the prom and ticked me off for wearing a running shirt advertising the Belgian Lottery.

And yet we're running after the midget ultralightweight Clasie.
